I know it's the World Cup right now and Australia v England is in 12 hours but I was just curious to know why Shahid Afridi doesn't have his own biopic while Sachin, Dhoni and even Azharuddin have their own. It seems really odd as Shahid is one of the most popular cricketers ever and has had one crazy career. And I know about "Main Hoon Shahid Afridi" but that wasn't really a biopic. So Discuss!

Maybe he is not interested in making one. Not many cricket players have made one. I think Afridi will be more interested in the charity he takes part in when he is finished from PSL and whatever other cricket he takes part in.

He definitely deserves a biopic!

He was the ‘Entertainer’ of cricket.

Has attracted so many new cricket fans :sa

If IK doesn't have a movie produced on him then Afridi is no one.

There was movie name mei hoon shahid afridi made on him

I am a bit surprised too that Afridi doesn't have a movie yet. He is definitely a very unique and charismatic person.

If Afridi was fine with "Main Hoon Shahid Afridi" he'd be fine with a Biopic

What would his movie be about? Someone playing cricket for like 20 odd years with most of his innings ending at 0(1) and the only highlight of his entire career being a century he scored on his debut.

No actor is handsome enough to play him :sa :)))

Bollywood thinks otherwise

Lol what the hell

i an interview on espn, he was asked for biopic, he said tom cruise would be good to play his character.

His life story is not interesting enough. You cannot make a biopic just on a career.

If Morgan leads England to the World Cup, his life story would be ripe for a biopic. However, it won’t happen because there is no market for his biopic.

Afridi did help Pakistan to 2009 T20 WC title

Mamoon Never rated him as a cricketer, not a smart guy who can keep himself calm in media and education has to do allot with him and movies will be nothing just like his book full of lies.

I came across a copy of the screenplay but I couldn’t make it out.

It looked liked morse code.

Not sure about Afridi, I can think of another modern day cricketing ‘legend’ that should have a biopic movie made about him.. in fact the movie should be a Pakistani remake of “Aladdin” with a twist - about a young boy who could barely hold a cricket bat and was ridiculed by other kids for his horrible batting technique , but then one day rubbing an old lamp, a genie granted him a wish and his reply - “I want to play cricket for Pakistan cricket team and be able to play as long as I want to play till my old age” .

Your wish is granted, replied the genie.

The boy asked “can you also make me a good batsman who scores lots of runs against the best bowlers in the world?”

The genie grinned and said “Sorry young chap, only one wish allowed and you’ve used it.” :)

And that boy went on to play cricket for Pakistan and no matter how poorly he performed, no power could remove him from the team, decades have passed and he’s still going.

He's referring to his ducks as Morse code dots :))) miandadrules hatred of Afridi predates his hatred of religion :P

Does it?

Unfortunately for you, an ad hominem won’t detract from the facts.

Six And Out
Gone In Sixty Seconds

Good one, a few other possibilities:

- Daredevil
- Gone with the Wind
- The Punisher
- High Plains Drifter

Or if you prefer Bollywood titles, can think of one tailor made for Afridi’s batting -

“Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham”

I prefer Walter Mitty.

Umm...what was Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi?

Main Hoon Shahid Afridi (original title)
2h 10min | Drama, Sport | 23 August 2013 (Pakistan)

Despite the fact this movie IMO sucked, it has a 7.6 rating which is generous. Also, Shahid Afridi himself condemned the movie, because he didn't approve of the "item numbers".

Also, this movie has more to do with a boy wanting to became the next Shahid Afridi. So, not exactly a biopic, but close enough.

😄😄Are you talking about our one and only, senior pro, sialkoti sher???

Box office blockbuster in the making!

Yes but as I said, you need an interesting backstory as well because biopics cannot focus on the career only.

I think Afridi's life was interesting enough from reading his book. Have you read it?

I meant potential to be a good watch. As for whether it becomes made it depends on how Stokes finishes his careeer, but I doubt they will - as even some of their biggest football and rugby stars (more popular sports in England) have not had one made about them.

Afridi is a very popular cricket star and had a very interesting life; his cricketing days were full of dramas with 6s, clattering of wickets, stunning catches, winning matches from very difficult positions to causing massive heartaches for his fans and daughters with some super flop batting displays. Pitch dancing, unique ball tampering, tussles with players and media, multiple retiring, spot fixing scandals add lots of spice for any Afridi movie. He has been a cricket icon world over despite his mix performances. I was never a great fan of his due to his inconsistency but he inspired most of the youths in my clan to watch and play cricket. Richie Benaud once said something like "I would never select a world ODI team without Afridi". He has also done tremendous philanthropy work earning him respect and prayers from Pakistani people. If he was in India a movie could have been made but in Pakistan we do not worship our stars enough to go and watch movies made solely on their life; but of there would be a movie it should be called "Boom Boom or Bust Bust" as throughout his career he either performed exceptionally or disappointed massively.

They did Make "Main Hoon Shahid Afridi" so there's no reason why they can't make a biopic

A movie on Shahid Afridi will be definitely interesting.

Six and out.

Ball-tampering scandal and the controversies.

Breaking hearts of oppositions on his day.

Monster sixes.

Coming out of retirement.

Hope not out.

That idea could have worked as it was not biopic like Bend it like Beckham type movie if it was made well with big budget.
If anyone deserves a movie its Imran Khan he was even a bigger star than Tendulkar, many billywood actresses were his fans and wanted to date him. His play boy days. The way he turned himself from an ordinary cricketer to one of worlds fastest and best pace bowler, and then probably the best all rounder and a great captain. His marriage to a Jewish girl is a story in itself, as well as other marriages which are all to completely different personalities. He build free cancer hospital for poor, won the only 50 overs world cup for the country with many twists during the tournament. Then the man became the leader of nation that has been let down by most of its politicians, but he is fighting the corrupt politicians with great enthusiasm and faith in his abilities. Imran Khan the most famous Khan in the world would have a great biopic movie if he wanted but as I said Pak do not worship cricketers enough to have cricketer biopic movies as a hit.

I believe Imran already has a biopic in the works called "Kaptaan"

I always thought Netflix should have done a movie show biopic of even documentary on either Afridi , wasim or Imran khan or even just about Pakistan cricket

If I be fair and honest to him, his life does not have the dramatic plot that would be suitable for a blockbuster movie. His plot could be useful as a side to another cricketer but not sure if it has enough weight on its own.

Honestly speaking I recon Misbah should have a movie and Afridi's character should be the antagonist of the plot. Even though both have been on good terms.

Let's be honest do you really think the chances of a movie on Misbah are higher than Afridi.
