Why is Jofra Archer considered the most overrated cricketer in history?

Archer got smoked all over the place... that catch drop proved even more confidence-shattering blow for him. Acrher was never looking like the archer we have seen. He was clueless

I remember Archer very first delivery against us back in 2019. I was in awe of Archer's pace. Our batsmen never ever faced such speeds before. Now, we have Nahid Rana, and I hope he can at least make our batsmen more comfortable facing extreme speed bowlers. @Mas-LFC @sweep_shot

Pace is not everything. Line and length is more important. Nahid has poor control.

Archer also has poor control. His pace also dropped since injury.

Archer was good in 2019. He is now quite ordinary.

Injuries done him for good. Bowls hall trackers, hit me balls about 3-4 of them in an over. Pace isnt everything, the quicker it comes, quicker it goes. Line and length is more important.

He is terrible. He’s a bit like some of our post 2010 pace heroes. Got the pace, just got no idea about bowling

He lacks consistency + is too injury-prone.

He might bowl a couple of good overs, then lose it completely.

Many bowlers start with a bang, or perform well in tournament.

Ajantha Mendis did it. Even Hassan Ali did. But none of them were rated to the level Archer was, this was always the annoying thing.

He had a good World Cup but it's not like he performed to a Starc level. Or he single handedly won them the cup which you could argue Stokes did.

Yet despite that and following the couple of bouncers to Steve Smith, you saw him get hyped up all over. By many English pundits especially and also posters like @Mamoon who is too embarrassed now, but called him the best in the world for many years. Not potential, actually said he was up there with the likes of Cummins, Starc, Rabada, Bumrah.

Short run up and good action that can generate a lot of pace, but he failed badly. Pace is pace yaar type concept not working

Pace without line and length is a liability.

Archer's figure in semi-final --> 4-0-61-1.

He also got smashed in other games in recent times.

What was he doing exactly before his injuries? His overall numbers are same before and after his injuries.

Even when he was hyped up against Smith, etc, his overall average and numbers were very poor.

A fit Archer is the most watchable fast bowler in the world. His talent is insane.

England have no chance of competing in the Ashes unless he is playing all 5 Tests.

OP is just obsessed with him and sees him in his nightmares.
Oh dear

The guy has a fair amount of ability with the bat for a tailender + six-hitting potential.

Just wish he was a little bit more consistent.
