Just saw on news channel where he was saying sarfraz still can make comeback in pakistan team if he performs in domestic cricket .This is not the first time he was alleged to forced pcb to removed as a captain .I think ehsan mani and wasim khan are not the one who makes the important decision .

Khan is running the show behind the scenes despite new domestic structure where Prime minister was bared from all the power .

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Sunday praised former skipper of Pakistan cricket team, Sarfaraz Ahmed, saying he can make a comeback into the team by showing good performance in domestic cricket, ARY News reported.

As per details, PM Imran Khan spent his holiday discussing cricket with close friends. The premier also discussed the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) domestic structure.

Sources said the premier beside praising Sarfraz Ahmed also hailed the appointment of Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach of Pakistan Cricket team.

“Misbah has the ability to coach players. Sarfaraz is a good cricketer, he should perform in domestic cricket and make a comeback into the team,” he was quoted as saying.

The prime minister has taken a two-day break from his official duties and party engagements to spend time with family and close friends.

It may be noted that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in October had removed Sarfaraz Ahmed as skipper in the Test and Twenty20 formats due to a drop in overall form.

If you and I and everyone's uncle can comment on cricket, why cant Imran Khan? Commenting is not interfering - lets keep our hats on

Question is, did he make that comment as a prime minister or a commoner? First is uncalled for.

Seem like pcb new constitution was just publicity stunt(where it was mention prime minister won,t interfer in pcb) .khan is still running the show
 
The comments about Sarfaraz, Misbah etc. don't classify as interference.

But this T10 issue is more of a concern. It looks like Pakistanis have been banned due to Indian involvement in T10. Not sure if that's the right approach.

talk about jumping to conclusions

by PP logic:

someone saying something perfect normal (player X can make a comeback if he performs) = this person is running Pakistan cricket behind the scene, even if it is the PM

It seems Imran has caused the ultimate sin by daring to feel that he has the right to express his opinion IN PRIVATE on Pak cricket to his close friends. Someone call the police.
 
1) These quotes are reported from a private conversation, so you should take them with a pinch of salt.
2) I don't see anything wrong with the comments; you perform in domestic, you get a call up.

It's not that deep
 
Imran was talking in a private sitting with close friends. He can say whatever he wants.

Never ever trust ARY or their reporting.

The biggest issue, and a legit one, is interfering of Faisal in the affairs of cricketers, where they choose to play.

It's none of his frikkin business or the govts in what league our players play. Just a week ago he was smiling and shaking hands with parosis at Kartar pur. Where was his politics then??
 
Imran Khan should terminate his association with his friends because no true friend reveals and leaks a private conversation
 
'If domestic cricket improves, Pakistan cricket will also move forward': Imran Khan on Sarfaraz Ahmed, Misbah-ul-Haq

Pakistan cricketer Sarfaraz Ahmed was sacked from T20I and ODI captaincy ahead of their Australia tour.

The wicketkeeper-batsman was also removed from the team in all three formats by the PCB last month after Pakistan were whitewashed 0-3 in a T20 series at home by a weak Sri Lankan team.

Now wanting him to make a come back to the national squad, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has advised Sarfaraz to focus on domestic cricket.

Khan, the patron-in-chief of Pakistan Cricket Board, also backed the appointment of Misbah-ul-Haq as head coach and chief selector.

“I don’t think the performance and form of a player should be judged by T20 cricket but through Test and One-day cricket. He can come back to the national team, he should focus on domestic cricket,” Khan said when asked about Sarfaraz.

While talking about the appointment of Misbah as head coach and chief selector, Khan said, “It is a constructive move to appoint Misbah as he is an honest and unbiased personality who has loads of experience behind him.

“I think Misbah will turn out to be a good choice and Pakistan will improve and do well in Test and ODI cricket under him. He has this talent in him that he can groom the players and also improve their performance,” he added according to PTI.

According to Khan, he supported the new domestic first-class season - in which only six provincial teams are competing on home and away basis - and said the move will lead to a better cricket system in the country.

“If our domestic cricket improves, then Pakistan cricket will also move forward.”

If any of the global Prime Ministers should be allowed to comment on cricket, it's Imran Khan.

For sure I guarantee he's not "more worried about India than Pakistan right now" in the cricket stakes. :batman:

He is not running the Show. it is the journalists who keep asking him cricket related questions, He is merely just showing confidence in the current setup.
 
I don't think he's interfering, rather keeping an eye, which he should do.

If he didn't keep an eye, then people would say why isn't he bothered.
 
Deep down, Imran’s probably not too bothered about cricket nowadays.

He’s moved onto a much higher plateau and good for him.

The only good thing done by imran khan is starting a good domestic system , installing guys like ehsan mani and misbah ul haq are the biggest blunders ever.

the PCB and sports channel should air the fresh documentaries of our scenic beauty in northern areas and historical places of other provinces to promote tourism industry, he suggested.

On a lighter tone he said all teams belonged to Pakistan but it seemed Quetta gladiators would once again would sweep the wickets as it was one of his favorite PSL teams.

Ehsan Mani in a recent interview:

“There was not even a single instance where Imran [Khan] interfered in PCB matters and all the decisions were based on merits. Take the example of Sarfaraz, his performances were dropping and removing him from captaincy was not taken by Imran at all. We replaced Sarfaraz with Rizwan, who has been phenomenal from the get-go”
