Indians always boast as some people of greatest physical strength yet it is astonishing to note that no Indian or Indian origin fighter makes it to the list of elite fighters in the realm of boxing and MMA.

So what exactly are the reasons behind India's lack of fame and mark in the real wrestling industry? Is it because of mental brittleness, lack of proper technique, funding issues or insufficient physical toughness. So enlist below the actual reason behind India's lack of limelight in the real wrestling industry.

Lack of funding and resources obviously .. you don't need to dig too deep to get the answers. It also doesn't help that boxing and MMA are boring to watch.

No fighting culture.

You need one or two trail blazers to set the way.

Even in the britpak community we first adopted Naseem Hamid as one of our own ( his style and mannerisms was our style ) and he inspired the likes of Khan who has inspired the next generation.

Apart from this unique britpak subset not many desis from subcontinent and diaspora consider boxing and UFC as a noteworthy achievement.

I think physically (on average) the men from indian subcontinent are genetically smaller and weaker than Europeans and Africans. It has to do with our traditional diet. The countries have been historically poor and the colonial era did not help. In order to fill empty stomachs, the diets were designed around carbs and starches, roti, chawal, etc because protein was/is at a premium.

It will take generations of prosperity and healthy eating and engagement to change these patterns. Pakistan in particular is becoming the diabetes capital of the world at the moment.

The focus has been more on Olympic golds as that fetches jobs and money from government, Indians have Olympic medals in Wrestling , Boxing in both women and Mens categories.

They never kick on and do something significant in boxing. Only one from India has gone pro I believe

Pakistan had one that broke out and went pro - Muhammad Waseem, he even got a title fight.

I think you are right, the focus is too much on the olympics but they dont have any idea for post olympics when the stakes are higher and tougher. So they dont have the stamina to go to the next level.

I honestly think ( either country) just needs one or two to make it and it can capture the imagination of the public. At the moment it is seen as a thuggish brutish sport.

India and fighting do not go together. Whether it is a war (like Operation Tandoor) or street fight.

Indians can't fight one-on-one. They always have to gang up 5-on-1, 7-on-1, 10-on-1 etc. Pretty cowardly. :inti

It is probably because many of them don't eat meat and it is hard to fight if you do not eat meat.

And thanks in large part to the PED proliferation right through your sports.

An Indian did fraud to get into UFC. LOL.

They are now trying to pollute UFC with their nonsense. I hope UFC will be safe. :inti

Anyway, this fraud's name is Sumit Kumar. See the below video:

Going pro requires lot of sponsors and that is lacking as it’s still watched mostly in West.
For Olympic wins governments give a lot to the winner unlike PRO boxers and Wrestlers.

Another India centric thread created to antagonize posters. Usual suspects like @sweep_shot already arrived with BS. Then when likes of me starts cross questioning in my style of debate, question asked what are we sanghis doing in Pakistani forum?

Same chronology in every thread....rinse and repeat

Pakistani forum for name sake but no Pak related thread

:misbah :kp

It’s always about traffic, and you can see the traffic will be higher on negativeIndian threads.

India won the Asian championship yesterday in hockey and lol @The Bald Eagle had to open an alternate thread so that doesn’t get highlighted I suppose.

No this topic came across my mind today and I was curious to find your guys version. Aren't you the ones who are Kabbadi world champions? Why nothing on global stage to back your "Bharti Sourma" mantra?

The trend was set by @Saj long ago with the days without Indian away SENA win threads.

It has evolved of course to other aspects.

snowflakes can't tolerate what they dish out. Lack of personal pride if you ask me.

Any Bongladesh MMA fighters? I am sure your people are well built and everyone is 6 feet tall unlike veggie Indians.

Which Indian boasts about greatest physical strength? You make a statement that Indians don't claim and then your pals will start bashing the statement and Indians.

Amazing when mods themselves troll. You knew what you were doing.

Most people in India are aware of MMA scene. The ones in cities that follow it do it for fun. Indian parents usually do not encourage extreme contact sports. There is no money in it in India. Any injury and it is hard for people from these backgrounds to pay for recovery. Not much support from big corporations like Cricket enjoys.

Its not just MMA. Most sport athletes do not get any recognition unless it is cricket. This is why sports like Tennis, hockey and many other sports suffer.

NRI Indians do not go for sports. They are into academics. Most end up in Tech jobs, Finance, law etc like their parents. They play sport just for fitness. Not as a career.

Indian gaming the numbers. Now there is a surprise. NOT.

They have been fooling the westerners for the last two decades and been on strategic freeloading in many different industries. Sumit Kumar just tried to apply the same knowledge to his industry

I remember a Bangladeshi fighter lost his mouth in a ufc match against an Indian in the first round..

That's the only match against desis that I saw of Indians

Here is a small example but if you scroll down homepage you will see many threads on timepass are started by Indian posters, some non-Pakistani posters like @sweep_shot brother and @mominsaigol also feature. @Bhaijaan has about 10 threads on homepage where he has he has his mouth open for Modi. You shouldn't blame the site for this.

Lol please don't lie and be honest....Did you know any of them before. While Prince Naseem was a household name in late 1990s and 2000s
Nope.

I only knew the Phogat sisters that won medals in wrestling at international level.

Never heard of Prince Naseem. May be in Pakistani households. Not in India.

If you are a boxing fan check his clips out. One of the best to do it. Wasn't a Pakistanu but at the time he was so cool that everyone ( brits, arabs, pakistanis) claimed him.

Did the topic of hockey come across , how Pakistan is going down consistently inspite of beating India regularly in the 1990s?

You mean to say Fake Indian fighters still beat a macho He-Man looking Bangladeshis? :dw

Interesting you should say that. My father's side of the family are from rural area (so in fact @Romali_rotti's constant pind 'insults' are accurate) and when I was there as a teenager you got to see first hand how physically intimidating the guys were, all 6ftrs and very lean and strong. But they ate very clean food which they produced themselves and this probably had a bearing. Next generations have moved to the city and are chowing on the same junk food as their western counterparts and hence the diabetes explosion. It's kind of ironic that the less well educated paindu grandmothers knew more about food health than today's city slicker Pakistanis.

No point trolling Bangladeshis, they have accepted on this forum they don’t have indoor or outdoor sports capabilities hence they have grabbed on Australia as their fav since Pakistan isn’t doing that well either.

WHat i mean is timepass section is about 40% Indian so this level of posts doesn't seem out of step. Site has to cater for its audience.
But my point was specialy for posters who said what is Indian fans doing here but here more discussion is about India and you know that very well.

:kp

here are some just for wrestling on a brief google.

And below is half of kabbadi team.

I haven't done weightlifter or boxers etc... As I said it is absolutely rife in India at all levels and they probably start much younger when there is no dope testing and are probably cleverer in understanding how long it clears the system.

Why do you always derail the thread? Stick to topic. :inti

Topic is how Indians can't make it to MMA without committing frauds (see post #13). :inti
Is that a new topic within a topic, telling me about derailing thread when you have derailed it see post#13

BD knocked out India in 2007 WC, 2012 Asia Cup, and also beat in U-19 WC final.

If BD was large like India, they could've done better than India. :inti

India is overrated in sports. They often win in cricket due to rigging things with ICC. ICC has become BCCICC; complete farce.
:inti

India is all about quantity over quality in every aspect.

But did it cross your mind yesterday when India easily won the Asian championship?
He and other MOD first one to bump the thread " india losses and the Sunday connection although india didn't even played but Afghanistan. LMAO

:klopp :kp

Not sure what @sweep_shot sees in his country that he is so proud of that he trolls its much bigger neighbor India.

One at least have some bragging rights to troll other nations. This is like a Beggar laughing at a lower middle class guy. :dw

Here let me put it.. read the articles again and tell me which Olympic winning medalist has failed the test?

Those tests are very strict during Olympics, now try again.

Didn’t you whine once that India didnt win an ICC for 10 years and you said that in 2023 or something..but hey congratulations for 2012 Asia cup.

Also lol at U-19, congratulations on that ..

But he has made a fair point, India is far bigger than Bangladesh so has much more population to choose from. Heck even the other half of Bengal is in India, they aren't even half a state compared to 28 in India.

Thread was first derailed by usual Clown but you didn't delete that Post because it was against India. :kp

Bangladesh has a lot of population, one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

Bangladesh has a lot of population, one of the most densely populated countries in the world.

BD population: 160-million.
India's population: close to 1.5-billion.

India also has a far bigger landmass. British Empire gifted them too much land.

Try again. :inti

Also, don't derail the thread. Embrace self-accountability. Topic is why Indians can't make it to MMA without committing frauds.

We have more MMA fighters per capita than bangladesh or Pakistan..
What are you saying

Bigger country means nothing. Per Capita income matters. You should have known that. Zero facilities and support means no worthy individual will come to the fore.
In India, other than Haryana and Kerala, other states are not known for sporting culture. This is why most medal winners come out of those 2 states. Cricket is the only sport that is played by 90% of the country. IPL has given an incentive to many kids who aspire to be a professional.

Sums up Indians.

They don't believe in self-accountability. They always have to derail and resort to whataboutism.

This is why they are 4-5 times behind China. I recently saw a video regarding this --> "China work, India talk". :inti

Unfortunately, majority of Indian posters proving it right. Except Champ pal and Rex Rex.... majority of them trolling and derailing

Anyway, I am out of this thread as Indians are derailing it.

In terms of achievements, Bharat is by far the strongest South Asian nation when it comes to sports needing physicality and athleticism.

While Bharat still lags behind other nations with sporting culture, it's weird to see Pakistanis and Bangladeshis doing bhangra over it. You guys are so bad, why are you laughing? 🤣
