Pak won toss and elected to field.

West Indies: 241 - 9 off their 50 overs

Pak require 242 to win.
 
A solid start by the two openers should see us through this Inshallah.
 
Very much get able score though. The pitch has no real demons. See through the initial 10 overs of the shiny ball, and then its all relatively easier from there.

At one point you do not want fall of early and then as well you do not want to say anything to Imran Nazir...What should Inzi do then???Let Imran Nazir figure out himself...I feel if Hafeez and Imran Nazir can make 20/0 in 5 overs: That will be the time, when Imran Nazir can start to have a go...
 
could be a very interesting game. hope younis opens with nazir.

250 has been chased sucsessful twice on this ground in last 3 years.
 
If Pak bat sensibly this should be an easy target. Wickets need to be protected as the first goal. Even high run rate of 8-9 runs is possible in the last 10 overs or so if wickets are in hand. This is a small ground and almost all our players are capable of hitting it out of the ground if needed. So bottom line don't lose wickets and you will WIN.
 
WI has a VERY strong ODI bowling lineup. This is not an easy target by any means. watch out for collymore and taylor!

imran nazir does nt have the technique or temperament to be defensive for too long,he ll fail that way more often than he ll fail being aggressive.inzi should tell him to play his natural game while hafeez can do the blocking from the other end
 
Hafeez and nazir if they are to hammer ball need to play straight!
 
Pakistan should bat sensibly. The conditions are good, pitch is playing well, the boundary rope, I hear is not too far ... if we don't make it a big deal, we should do it comfortably.

Our earlier batsmen have to focus on:

* holding on to wickets
* taking singles where they can
* use the powerplay wisely. Don't get crazy, but don't miss any opportunities either

Even if we score at 3.5 - 4.0 rpo in the first 35 overs (122 - 140 runs), we can get the remaining runs (102 - 120 in 15 overs) at 7-8 rpo comfortably, provided we have wickets in hand.

Can't wait ... this would be an impotant victory, that will help us in the next round.
 
let younis open and hafeez in middle order
we need some big hitting down the order and we cant have inzi break his back so soon in the tournament
 
One other reason why we should do well: West Indian bowling is not the best in the world.

Yes, we know how to make the most inexperienced ones into world class performers, but they do not have the match-winners that Pakistan has within its arsenal.

Clearly, the strength of this West Indian side is their batting, but they performed very averagely. They did not collapse, but also failed to provide their bowlers a decent cushion to work with.

All we need to do is to target 2-3 of their bowlers. If we can score at 7 runs/over off those 20 overs, all we need is 90 off the remaining 30. Child's play, eh???

sounds good, why cant our coach get a stream of our tips, i am sure they can benefit form hindsight, foresight and sidesight :)

Imran nazir needs to sit out of this WORLD CUP from next match onwards. What the hell was the need to go after that next delivery, the idea should be to play yourself in not to play shots on every delivery.

Yeh, Younis finds himself opening the batting anyway...so why not just push him up to open.

Anyways looks like a pretty good bowling performance, let them back in at the end though. Go Rao. :P

Pakistan batsmen need to play themselves in, spend quality time at the crease.

You can literally predict imran nazir dismissal.
 
i was hoping for a pakistani 100 to start off the 100's in this world cup but guess thats asking for too much
 
widish line thus far from Taylor, Hafeez leaves 1st two balls.
 
Now I wouldn't be surprised if Hafeez nicks Taylor to Ramdin this over. Its a foregone conclusion when it comes to Pakistani openers

That is what Inzi told him and that is what he did...Like Afridi did in 2003 against England hitting a huge six in the first over and then getting out in the same over...Imran Nazir hammered one of the best shot of the day only to depart next ball...Now you should not complain that why he got out too early...This is what you suggested to him...
