If he scores a couple of triple centuries not out things can change.

If his average gets to 55+, he can do it by 2032-33
No no, why stop at triple centuries, he will score 1000 runs per innings. Lara could never 😱

Here Younis is hyping Kohli to get 10k runs:

“To score 10,000 runs you have to make up your mind first. If you take an example of Virat Kohli after Sachin Tendulkar's retirement, he went on with an aim and a goal. So I am sure in the coming years he will surpass Sachin."
This is the key

The desire to do it.

Babar’s desire isn’t to succeed in Test cricket.

Has there ever been a Pakistani cricketer backed so fervently by the fanbase for such meagre returns as Babar Azam ? If anybody else averaged 23 in their last 28 Test innings - would they be spared by the selectors ?

The much maligned Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq produced more substantive Test knocks than this alleged "King" who's been a sitting duck against spin for years. The only reason his Test average remains above 40 is because of Rameez's highways.

Babar had ample time to play FC cricket and work on his game against spin given his exclusion from the T20 team. Seems like he's done sod all with it.

31 years old

4300 Test runs in 61 Tests

He’s not reaching 5k Test runs until he’s 33 I recon.

Then he has another 2-3 years to score another 5k Test runs

Only people to get to 10k will be from big 3 from now on. Others with their 2 match test series simply won't be able to.

He’s already 31 years old. The maximum he will get will be around ~6k Test runs, that’s if his form returns and he works on his many deficiencies. For ODI, I think 8k will be a realistic target for him. For T20, 6k will be the target. ~20k international runs across formats is not a bad stats for any player, but for a player of his caliber and hype, it’s a massive disappointment and it all boils down to his rigidity and inability to improve his game. He’s either struggling or is dropped and doing instagram modeling instead of playing red ball cricket and working out his deficiencies.

It’s also the story of Pakistan: inability to grow and fix mistakes.

Sorry, the caliber was never there, it was all hype patronised by clowns like Ramiz Raza.

You know what's the biggest tragedy (or in Babar's case biggest escapade)? It's the fact that his pathetic record against spin simply overshadows & makes everyone ignore how brutally terrible the dude is against fast bowling. When I say fast bowling I obviously don't mean the lights of Kampala, Magala & all other Z level trundlers & spray guns SENA teams put forward him post covid, particularly in 20-23 timeline, his supposed golden era.

He would have been close to 10k runs by now if the PCB had prepared flat pitches like they did under Ramiz Raja’s tenure. These tracks are seriously troubling him, though they are not rank turners.

Not with this technique

I can't believe that at this level Babar is playing with such hard hands

the ball really travelled after connecting the bat. It was a good catch but the ball really carried some distance

soft hands are needed when you are crowded by the close-in fielders, while batting

Typically this happens when you're out of form. Nervous, Anxiety, Pressure to perform.

Babar really needs to learn from Steve Smith who he claims is his idol and favourite batsmen of all time( His words during his BBL interview for Sydney Sixers, Not mine)

Smith even out of form during BGT, scored 2 back to back centuries since the dude takes no pressure. Has one of the thickest skins of all time.
