You don’t watch a lot of cricket do you? 2022 was two years ago. I don’t know what it is with a lot of posters on this forum who think that there is some memory to this process. Each game that is more than two weeks removed from a previous game is a tabula rasa. There is no momentum from before then, no ghosts that need to be exorcised, and absolutely no deference given to prior results.

Ind still the fave here but jeez so many useless passengers in the team- ksbharat , mukesh kumar aka kankar kund Express lol! That's his birth place and am not sure how he is even considered Express , rohit. Rohit is done- too defensive and gives up easily. Lost ind the odi WC with his timid defensive captaincy.

As I said before bazball is not easy. Takes a lot of ability, skill , confidence, trust and back up by the team management to pull it off. Bazball is not going to die if England lose, even badly. The whole concept is really based on entertainment. Why anyone would complain about it is beyond me. It's great for the game and I hope more teams follow England's lead.

True you cannot block your way to chase 399. There was one chase India did against Andrew strauss's England 383 runs by India. It was started exactly the same way. Sehwag scored 83 in 68 balls in the 4th evening. He completely killed the spirit of English side in one session. 383 looked a steep target at that time. You cannot block your way.

Only way you can counter is with similarly positive captaincy. Positive bazball doesn't mean throw your bat around recklessly. But captaincy , on field body language everything has to be positive. Teams kinda wilt once England starts coming harder. Even now if these 2 put up a 50 partnership you will see Rohit panicking and losing the plot in no time.

That is the essence of bazball. People often believe that playing at a rate of 5-6 runs per over (RPO) is the only way bazball can work. However, if teams adopt a more aggressive approach against their opponents, it can put a lot of pressure and doubt in the minds of the opposition.

And Ravi Ashwin is just one wicket away from getting 500 career test wickets. This would put him in the league of Anderson, Broad, Walsh, McGrath, Warne, Kumble and Murali.

Chasing those runs seemed hard, but England gave themselves a good shot and showed a way for other teams. If they played in the usual way, the game would have taken longer, but they'd probably lose by more than 200 runs.

It was a monumental task, but made much more difficult by another three cheap scores for Root, Bairstow and Stokes.

Root and Stokes criminally threw away their wickets, whereas Bairstow looks to have some form and is not being actually being reckless, but he has more so been incapable of turning his regular starts into big scores; he gets to 30 and then fluffs it. He needs to be more greedy in the next match.

The batting in this series for England keeps tanking in the middle order. Top order good and gets off to a flier, lower order resilient when the chips were down, but these guys at 4/5/6 have been playing village cricket. They’re the most experienced batsmen in the lineup so it is time for them to take ownership of their failures and step up.
