Will Ramiz Raja stand by his criticisms of Pakistan cricket and implement his solutions?

I hope and I believe Rameez Raja is able to implement his thoughts. Saying thing's by staying out of pcb domain is one thing but now being a part of that set up and work with independent mind and ideas is just another thing. We will see what he does, does reflect overthe time with this cricket team. IA

For me the following is what i would personally desire:

- Get drop in pitches, so Pakistan can practise on pitches other than flat ones to get accustomed to away conditions
- Organise more A tours for youngsters and unofficial tours
- Retain M. Waseem as selector as he's got good knowledge of domestic cricket
- Increase the no. of test matches played per year by Pakistan
- Continue to arrange more countries to visit Pakistan

- organize lectures on personal grooming of PAKISTAN national players. They are not some street players representing a local team. They are representing Pakistan. Just take a look at old Pakistan teams each Pakistani player knew how to keep it clean and looked professional. With this Pakistan team like they can not even afford to buy razors.

Talk is cheap. He will most likely do a u turn as well disguising it as something else. He will select the team on what players have the most powerful political connections. We're covering cracks with wallpaper here.

There is just way too much politics in PCB.
Almost all top admin positions are held by the brother or cousin of some minister. And this minister could very well be someone who may threat IK to leave the party if his brother/cousin/friend is let go from PCB. There is an entire web of corrupt and incompetent to the core individuals. Otherwise it’s gonna be the same stuck in a rut, lakeer ka fakeer type, more of the same hogwash..

You need AN EXTREMELY STRONG, POWERFUL AND VERY, VERY INTIMIDATING leader to break this network and this vicious cycle.
And Ramiz is just a weak little person who has no chance.
His hands will be tied and he won’t be able change a whole lot of whatever few small changes his narrow vision can see before it hits its limit.

Ideally, you need to scrape the entire organization, and except for a couple, every single current PCB employee must be banned to reply.

Then you need to start from the scratch to hire talented, qualified n experienced professionals onboard. You won’t find many in Pak, so you may want to hire expat Pakistani pros from USA, ENGLAND etc.

You won’t need an army of them. Hire a few good ones, keep the org size small but compact and powerful n you will get the job done.

Things are said on social media and TV to find popularity.

But then there is the real world. Ramiz knows that and we should also accept it.

The same Ramiz who would criticize Pak players on his YT/Tw/Commentary will not be around when he becomes Chairman.

Add to that list:

Redirect revenue earned towards the grassroots system and improve the facilities available for promising talents.

Rectify the domestic system by increasing the number of teams to perhaps 7 or 8 to allow more players to get opportunities, and simultaneously, create a requirement for each team to have a decided number of players under the age of 20 in their squads. These players must get at least 3-5 games in the season.

Replace the coaching staff of the national team and add a role for a fielding coach. Keep a separate coach for batting/bowling across the formats if possible.

Create more training camps for promising and talented players to work with the NHPC coaching staff so that they are groomed before the U-19 World Cup, and get the necessary coaching to elevate their performances to their potential.

Invest in more high-quality coaching institutions across the country, at least in all major cities.

Make the selection policy more rigorous and create a large focus on fielding standards as being a reason a cricketer can/should be penalized for. Perhaps a salary deduction, warning system, or even dropping players after they exceed a threshold for catches dropped will get them off their haunches.

As LQ does, force all PSL franchises to undertake measures to set training camps to unearth potential youngsters in their areas, and identify them for the PCB. These players will then be part of the franchises in a separate category, or the joint category of emerging which should be expanded to about 5 players. When teams have larger squads with younger players, they will have more of an opportunity to select the players they need for certain situations. This will also help these youngsters be part of dressing rooms with international players, and receive coaching from the staff of these respective franchises.

Resolve the dispute with the PSL franchises regarding the financial model, and explore the opportunity of adding two more teams.

Resolve the issue the PSL franchises have with the KPL.

I have a bad feeling rambo sahb will do very little.

He’ll just play the “smart operator” without making any changes

The very first thing is to revive school level cricket in a very well organized manner with great supervision.
The new system and process should encourage the parents and school kids to play more sports, stay healthy and focus on fitness.
You won't be able to build a solid building if the bases are weak.

And then we need a proper power hitting coach because modern day cricket is moving towards power hitting. Even many Test matches are now being played as extended T20s.

Take a look at this video.
Do you think our coaches have the foggiest of ideas about these drills?

All we have is some physical exercises, play a little soccer, and then pose in front of the camera in the nets after blocking the ball with a straight bat.

Rameez Raja = Style Over Substance

Apart from having an excellent accent, his analysis of the game is underwhelming.

You've got to give credit where credit is due. Muhammad Yousaf in my eyes has certainly helped our red ball players and it's had a positive influence.

In terms of white ball the boys keep bottling it, they throw away their chances like a fat kid does salads.

It'll be interesting to see how Ramiz goes about the role. His analytical understanding of the game is painfully limited, but that shouldn't equate necessarily to administrative or strategic incompetence as board chairman. I doubt the likes of Earl Eddings (CA) or Ian Watmore (ECB) are sharp analytical or tactical cricket minds either.

He has lots of friends in India from his playing days but mostly from his commentary days.

That will help him. It's not about India. It's about the BCCI which is very powerful. Being able to have regular friendly conversations can make so many things easier.

If Ramiz stays true to his promises, the following have played their last games for Pakistan

Mohd Amir
Umar Akmal
Ahmed Shehzad
Sharjeel Khan

Salman Butt will also not get any commentary role in domestic cricket.

He doesn't care about Stats and domestic performances. He said in his YouTube channel criteria should be like you selected Abdullah Shafiq that should be criteria.

Rumors circulating that Ramiz Raja gave 3 selection policies to Wasim to follow
1. Select Youngsters
2. Select Young Bowlers with 140+ pace
3. Select Batsman with 150+ SR even if their average is 10

and news is circulating Sharjeel Name was originally in the list of 15 and Fakhar was as in Reserve so 3 openers and a backup Ramiz took it out also Ramiz put name of ASif Ali in the squad.
