I am aware of home conditions but I give it less value now a days in ODI cricket.
I have no idea why you mention ODIs when I was only considering the record in Test matches.

Yes they're going to trash Australia...a 2-0 win is inevitable
The only way they will take 15 wickets in the two Tests is if Brisbane is a green top and they get to bowl between 5 and 7 pm when the light is changing.Sri Lanka has been performing admirably in the recent past. They whitewashed Pakistan in UAE, utterly demolished SA at home, and pulled off a near-impossible 5th day draw against NZ. Will they create history by becoming the second Asian side to win a test series in Australia? Share your predictions/thoughts.

Without Australian batting leaders and the woeful form of post sandpaper Starc, Lankans do have a great chance. But Angelo is not there, I predict 1-1 if Sri Lanka wins at least one toss. Sad that Pakistan is not touring this time! We could have bagged an easy series win in the toughest country to tour..
They've won the first toss and batted first so they stand a great chance to win this test as per you. Let's see.

The match is still not over. There is still an entire session under lights and Lakmal is good enough to take advantage of that. I hope Sri Lanka also wins toss next match so that they can easily make it 1-1 or 2-0.
I like your confidence. To be fair, SL is a top 6 team so should be able to give a fight to Ozzies.
According to him, if any team loses to India then e en Pak would also beat that team.
Indeed. We live in an era where no team is standout. I say almost all teams can win over another if conditions and/or toss go their way. Funny times.
India has won the first ODI in NZ. Same place where Pakistan was 15/6 in 16 overs not long ago, so I am sure even he doesn't believe in this theory anymore.

Century drought of Australian batsmen will come to an end in this match. This Australia E team will hand out an innings defeat to this second strongest test team from Asia.
You started the threadand now being sarcastic to a poster who said same thing you said in op.I see your intention of thread to bash poor Sl team and justify india recent victory against aus

Just as I speak, the slide of Australia has started. Lakmal has Burns nick one to 2nd slip. Hopefully few more before end of day today.
I just love your optimism (or delusion) even after SL has been bundled for 144. SL is just coming after getting thrashed at home and you expect them to win or draw as series in Aus. No matter how much you burn over the indian win still none of the other current Asian teams can win against this Aussie side in Australia.
PS: Will bump into this thread again in 2 days with some burnol.
These days some Indian posters just want everyone in the forum to accept that they are some kind of 2nd coming of Lloyd's Windies or Waugh's Aussies. Unfortunately you also need similar talent for to be recognised as such. The insecurity is nauseating!
No you're just worried that Sri Lanka winning in Australia would put doubts over India's 'supposed superiority' (a big lol considering Aussie batting leaders are missing) and you deeply wish for Sri Lanka to screw it up.

From Cricinfo. Everyone realizes the the great opportunity to win series in Australia right now. India were lucky they found themselves at the right place at the GODDAMN RIGHT time.
Just as India were lucky to be in the right place (Australia) to become the first Asian side to win a test series there, Pakistan too were in the right place (South Africa) to become the first Asian side to win the test series there.![]()
South africa beat Aus in Aus and they have won 7 home series in a row.
Don't put Aus and RSA in the same category

I still respectfully disagree.
You make it sound like its easy to beat Australia in Australia.
As the tour goes on, at least Sri Lanka will leave your cricketing acumen to tears.
And since Pakistan wont play them right now, your bubble about Pakistan will just continue floating around.
I would back SRL with Sangakarra, Jaywardene, Matthews, and Herath to beat the current Aus team.
Give Sri Lanka a break, it was just the first day of the test match. India also found themselves in a similar situation on a batting beauty at Adelaide only for Pujara, albeit with some luck, to help them just cross the line. Also, Pakistan has the bowling firepower which is as good as India's to take complete toll of batting leader(s)less Australia. Unfortunately one can only guess as we're not touring them at this opportune moment!
Even the current Sri Lankan team without these players is also capable of beating Australia (provided they win the toss, like the Indians). They shot themselves in the foot by giving away too many wickets to nothing shots. But I still am backing them to do more damage in the coming 2-3 days. This test is by no means over yet. Sri Lanka just has to make Australia bat again staring at a target of 130+. Very much possible.
Even if I agree with you (for argument sake) that pak bowling is as good as India. Do you really think Pak batting is as good as India which posted a score of 600+?
SA posted 400+ against Pal attack whilst they struggled to score 300 against India even with ABD in their ranks.

Ironically the only match when India scored 600+ was a draw. That says a lot about the pitch than the player calibre. Pakistan batting is good enough to score 250/300+ consistently on relatively flat tracks of Australia.
How ignorant a man can be ? That game ended up in a draw because entire two days of Cricket was washed off due to rain . We enforced the follow on after bowling them out for 300. They were still trailing by 300+ and we'd have won that even if 60 overs were possible.
But that was a draw because of the pitch.![]()

Pakistani batsmen can't play short pitch bowling. No way they can score 250+ against full strength aussie attack in Australia. Also Pakistan bowlers won't be able to take wickets in Aussie pitches where ball doesn't move much. This Aus team will easily whitewash Pakistan in Aus.
Another entry in the long list of luloos that Pakistan will make great.Shandarchowka said:Who on earth is even Labushagne!
And I disagree with you. Indian team struggled to all out Australia the last time they toured and yet they got 20 wickets 2 times in 4 tests this time. Pakistan definitely had a good chance against this feeble batting line up of Australia. Who on earth is even Labushagne!
Past is past. Presesnt is present. The current no. 7 ranked Pakistani side has no chance in Australia. Won't be able to even dominate a tour match. If as per you who on earth is even Labushagne! Who on earth is anybody in this Pakistani team!
Pakistan is indeed #7 but Australia is #5. I say we're evenly matched and given our bowling attack, we can size them up and defeat them if toss goes our way.

Wow, first toss becomes a criteria to compare with indian performance. Once that is ticked next come all sorts of reasons.
Really pity the Aussie bowlers. If SL would have posted a good total then their bowling would have been termed rubbish. Now that they shot down the SL to 144 it is said the batsmen threw wickets. So 0% credit to them.

The pitch was as flat as a road. Australia crumbled due to scoreboard pressure more than the bowling abilities of Indians. Anyway it is expected. Any half decent team can kick in the gut of this batting leader(s)less Australia.

I'm just saying that Sri Lanka could have easily made 220+ had they put some brain into their batting in the initial part of their innings. Nowhere did I say Aussie bowlers don't get credit or anything, don't try to put words into my mouth. 220+ total on first day of a day night test at Brisbane is like worth it's weight in gold.
Any half decent side can win....that's true
..but many cricket experts on tv don't give Pakistan team a chance they could beat Australia.....what does that tell you?

They are not as dominant at home as India as the home advantage is not as big. its dependent on factors out of their control i.e weather above. That's why it was even bigger achievement to beat India 4-1. But their over all performances all around the world is better than India's.
The 600+ score pitch was heavily criticized by Aussie commentators as it was very clear from ball 1 that a result was not possible and it was a wrapped new year gift for Indian team.
Anyone thinking that SL is going to win series can make serious money by betting on that.
I disagree. A couple of wickets here and Ozzies’ could be under 30-40. Its SL’s game to lose after that!

Well you never know! Who would have thought WI would destroy England the way they did.You can make 13/14 times of your money by betting on SL win here.
