I doubt it even though it is hard to predict 5 years time but I think they will be the hot favourites to win that in home conditions - I'm basing this on the recent trend seen in the last couple of WCs where the hosts ending up lifting the trophy.

Although I'm a big fan of Kohli - you have rightly mentioned that his selection policy is biased for e.g. picking Rohit in a test series in SA. My question is why has a world class clutch player in Raina been dropped? When he's easily your best number 4/5 in the country because when I look at India's batting currently after Kohli (at no.3) the only guy who looks convincing is Pandya with his hitting credentials. The likes of Dhoni, Kedhar Jadhav and etc plus the Indian tail to me looks like it lacks batting depth compared to the likes of England, SA, NZ and etc.

Atleast Kohli doesn't have a monkey on his back like Sachin did for the most part of his career for not winning a world cup. Kohli was part of the 2011 WC and is a CT winner too. Indians were way too jaded and had a big mental block against the Aussies in 2015. Now in 2019, their middle order woes still exist. Who knows who will be around in 2023
