Will the once mighty West Indies even be half the side they once were or is it all over for them? How difficult it is to imagine that they had to qualify for the WC playing teams they would have once spanked with their eyes closed. I still see hope that they'll get better somehow, Cricket needs a strong West Indies side.

Like the look of the current test team. Think they will be competitive in tests . In ODIs, they still have a while. Always will be gun in T20s.

No, never, it is impossible. The first class structure in the Windies is on its last legs, pitches ,stadia, finances are all terrible. The odd top class player they do produce ends up prioritising T20 leagues, with club over country.
It is quite sad because I still remember the windies being a force in test cricket....that was an age ago.

The game is nurtured by FC system. Apart from all other issues, people are over looking that their cricket season is eaten up by PSL & IPL. Best time to play cricket in WIN is between Feb to May. We can blame WICB all, but main reason for their pathetic wickets are that their domestic season has shifted from JAN-May to JUN-SEP.
Individually, Jamaica, Barbados, T&T & may be Guyana can be very good Test teams, because the talent & physical capability is still there; but I doubt if as combined WIN.
