Do we see Pakistan now handing over Hafiz over to India to be tried for his crimes with the new regiment change. It would restore good faith and establish normal relations which i think will be good for both countries. I see cricketing ties will be resumed back to normal and If India visits Pakistan for cricket bilateral games, the remaiing countries will follow suit. A friendship with India is the only way forward for Pakistan. Do we see Imran making this giant step forward in the right direction ?

I would personally prefer it if Imran was willing to ban Hafiz Saeed's organisation and put him in trial for hate speech and crimes he has committed in Pakistan.

Why would Pakistan do that when they think he has done no wrong ? I could be wrong, but didn't he just run as a candidate for election as well ?

Yawn.

Indians are obsessed with this man, get over it.

Its not about obsession. This is the right play for Pakistan to look as the good guy for once instead of the current narrative that its one of the axis of evil and usually lumped together with North Korea, and Iraq. Its a few bad plays from being listed as the country with ultimate villain in a James Bond movie..

By creating false narratives like this, it feeds the public perception in both countries in a certain direction. Fake news, or propaganda to give it the original term, has been used by world powers since time immemorial. India is just trying to join in, although to what end is not really clear. Seems to me to be more a distraction to stop people asking questions at home.

It'll begin by handing Hafiz Saeed then the demands will include 'PoK', etc better to keep the status quo.

The Mullahs will get the whole country on a lockdown with their dharnas. IK should first get control of the whole situation for the first couple of years, then if possible go after these people.

He is smarter than us, he cant play in hands of Islamist folks. India is nobody to him, his election campaign was not based on india so I don't think he'll do some thing stupid. As much as we want, he wants peace in his own country first!

Just like any democracy in the world, Pakistan allow anyone to run in election as long as they follow the rules of the country.

He did not win a single seat, Unlike in India, where a major party supported by the largest radicalized religious group who has instigated violence against minority, particularly muslims, has won.

Pakistan isn't going to please India.

It was his son and son in law who were running for AAT. This party won no seats and was embarrassed at the ballot box. This should be proof enough for you that ordinary Pakistanis do not want to associate themselves with these kinds of extremist groups. I personally felt this party should not have been allowed to run but it was good seeing it do so poorly in the election.

It is only because of our establishments love affair with these groups that characters like Hafiz Saeed are allowed to, quite literally, get away with murder.

It is funny India with all its supposed might cant get its hands on Hafiz saeed. Must be a tough realization for the Indians. Wishful thinking....

Who has he murdered ?

Much greater chance that India will get Zakir Naik from Malaysia:ik2 IK has made it clear and is on record telling India handing Hafiz over is out of question. Our courts have found him innocent of 26/11, case closed. Even if he were guilty Pakistan would have punished him, not India. He lives in Pakistan!

As per the power structure, Army takes care of defense, foreign policy, and those types of responsibilities. They may also step in if the law and order situation gets out of hand in the country.

Civilian government takes care of the economy, infrastructure, and other domestic items.

and no this doesn't mean Imran is a "puppet", as this is the same deal Nawaz and Zardari had with the army in their terms.

:)))

Imran is a PM, not a dictator, he cant go around picking people up and handing them to others, i though indians would know better.

You want him go to the court and show your evidence which you have failed to produce for 10 years now.

India seeks Hafiz Saeed's extradition in 'money laundering case'

India has sought the extradition of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, the chief of the banned Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), the Foreign Office (FO) confirmed Friday.

“Pakistan has received a request from the Indian authorities, seeking extradition of Hafiz Saeed in a so-called money laundering case,” a statement issued by FO spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch read.

However, Pakistan might have no plans to follow up on the request, as the spox said: “no bilateral extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and India”.

India blames Saeed for being involved in attacks across the borders, however, the chief of the banned outfit has denied all claims.

A Pakistani court had sentenced Hafiz Saeed, founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the armed group blamed by the United States and India for the deadly 2008 Mumbai siege, to 31 years in prison in two cases of terrorism financing.

An anti-terrorism court in Lahore had found Saeed guilty of terrorism financing in April 2022 and sentenced him to 32 years in jail.

Hours before Zahra’s confirmation, India had also confirmed it had formally requested Pakistan to extradite Saeed, according to India's foreign ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi.

“We have conveyed a request along with relevant supporting documents to the Government of Pakistan,” Bagchi told reporters in a media briefing.

Saeed conviction in 2022 was not the only one. Arrested in 2019, he was already serving a 15-year sentence after being found guilty of terror financing in 2020.

Saeed, who was put behind bars many times before over the past decade, denies being involved with armed operations, including the 2008 attacks in Mumbai, which killed 166 people.

Reports are coming today that he’s been terminated by “unknown gunmen”.

True?
