Sorry state of affairs, when Kamran Akmal is the captain.

And why isn't Salman Butt playing, its not like he has been scoring runs by the ton.

He needs more practice than anyone else. Statistically I think he is the worst batsman vs England.
 
I'd laugh if Yasir Hameed planned this sort of thing lol, "I'll get him run out for a low score so i get to play at the oval" Lol Jk but you nvr know with pak cricket team.
 
Yousuf should have at 1 down to try and get some time at the wicket. Cricinfo is showing raza hasan in the line up aswell

Oh yeah, ingenious of him...since Azhar Ali was lighting up the scoreboard along with the rest of the Lahore/Pindi crew in the previous four test matches....
 
Why the hell Ukmal's and Malik are in this match. They haven't done anything in this series.

I'm pretty sure two of Azhar Ali, Umar Amin and Shoaib Malik are going to be dropped, this is the 'test' game.
 
could anyone explain why kamran is playing this game? are they planning on bringin him back for the 3rd test? i mean how more stupid could these guys get???

Thats what my point is. If Azhar, Umin and Malik will not play the 3rd test then why allow them to play this match. They should have allowed the batsmen who will be playing the 3rd test.

You didn't understand. I said two players of the above three will be dropped, this game is letting one of them get into form and push for their place.
 
Is there an overs limit per inning? Or the side needs to be bowled out?

Umar Amin's confidence is shot. 1 run off 19 balls, SR of 5.26. Unbelievable.
 
We need to get over this supposed Bias against Karachi players...it is more about the nepotism/parchi/sifarsh/favoratism etc. why one player is selected and the other deserving one gets left out.

All these people who keep pointing out this supposed biad (Karachi vs Lahore)...need to be given a few slaps each and banned from posting on PP; no wonder Pakistan is facing so many issues, it is all due to people like you who will not do anything positive for the country. But they would rather dug up whatever is left of the country by the big corrupt running the country (who is incidently from Sindh) and chose Jahaaz Butt personally for the PCB chairman post!

No one talks about that or the simple matter that so many politicians/ex-players/others have asked Mr. 100% to kick Butt out and he has not even done anything...have you asked yourself why?

It is all about corruption not regionalism fools

I would rather we rest Amin for now and play him in a match on flatter tracks when we get there. His confidence must be rock bottom right now and persisting with him would harm both our team's performance as well as his own potentially bright future a few years down the road.

I hope selector atleast keep Umer Amin. he hasn't scored uptill now but he does seem to have good batting technique and I prety sure he will improve sooner then later.

hell probably still play the next game against england though

he should be kept back and given more games and let him make runs before these fools destroy his confidence and career forever

yeah but azhar ali has actually made some runs...so technique etc is irrelevant...it will be very uunfair on azhar ali if he is dropped ahead of shoaib malik...its a joke...flop upon flop and hes still in the team :pissed:

YEah really! Not only is he playing, they made him captain for this match too.

Why the hell is but not playing, despite his terrible form. this is plain stupid management. but should have played and happy to see yasir hameed in the game but sadly he got out on 22 so still no worries hope he plays the 3rd test and why the hell is umer amin still playing i dont get it....good to see both new bowlers getting a chance and also i would love to see how raza hassan does...so hope moyo could get a ton in the practice match/
 
yaar , they should have called Fawad Alam and asked him to bat. IF he impressed he should have been put in the team.

Because his Test ave is higher than all the current players except MOYO:

I don't understand this team selection.

I understand tanvir, raza and wiaz getting a bowl (might as well try raza, even though he' unlikely to play next test regardless, but both asif and aamer need rest).

What I can't understand is why Butt is sitting out. For a man who can't seem to buy a run against the English attack, he should be getting all the practice he can get.

And why is kamran playing and wicket keeping lol. Again Zulqi needs practise having been drafted into the team just recently. They are not considering to put kamran back in the next test regardless of what he does here in the county match (I hope). Zulqi now needs to be given a chance. Kamran isn't going to get back in the team next match whether for keeping or for batting, so it made no sense playing him. Can't believe he's been given captaincy too, lol.

agree with all this.

Amin might as well get a chance if both farhat and salman are not playing. I don't think we have any more reserve batsmen.

Corruption is obvious but the regionalism is also playing its part. Cant ignore that.
 
Based on the 2 runs in 10 balls, I think MoYo is quite fit and should be reinstated in the team asap.

He has been Hero of us. Not much in Test anymore, But in ODIs and T20s
 
most players at international level who have played that many matches have had some great moments.

Its just that Kamran has lost us so many games with his keeping.

His batting is good for a keeper, but not good enough for a specialist batsman. In my opinion Moin Khan was a better batsman than him.
 
Good to see Raza playing and Aamer and Asif obviously rested. Should be interesting to see how Tanvir Ahmed and Wahab Riaz go, either could be playing the 3rd Test at the Oval.

Rain interruptions and bound to cause plenty of frustration. Time is of the essence and Pakistan need it badly.

He's generally a solid wicket keeper in limited formats too. He's a good keeper in T20s in general, I don't see him drop many catches there.

He's just not a great wicket keeper in tests, and his batting is out of form. I've got nothing against the guy, but it's ridiculous that after he's been dropped, he is know playing in this practice match, batting wicket keeping, and even captaining lol. It does no good whatsoever, especially since he really shouldn't have a chance to play in the next test anyway.

If this is the effect a senior's presence would have on juniors, I say bring in YK as well and let's have half a dozen centuries by the top 6 batsmen in the next test! :D
