WOW, Unbelievable is this pak think tank... Mickey Arthur, Inzi and Steve Rixon is bringing in some common sense into this team setup.. Im liking it a lot.

Happy with this though I think Yasir shouldve gotten a game. Second opener will be decided between Sami and Shan.

Misbah probably rested voluntarily since he got enough time in the middle. Great to see senior players like Younis rested. Hope he doesnt go to the media about this resting now. Perhaps Sarfraz couldve played in stead of Asad who also got enough time in the middle

Yasir has already over-bowled in the 2 test matches, he can take these off days to forget the bad time he had in the 2nd test and churn out a plan B with Mustaq as how to check the run flow when he is not getting any help from the pitch

So it means, Hafeez will play next game and war is between Sami Aslam and Commando.

Which will be the right decision. If both dont do well then make Azhar open and Rizwan can bat at 6. About time Asad gets a promotion.

And i also feel that management want to check Rizzu, if he performs well they may use him instead of Sarfi in next game.

6 resting ? 10 playing?

So by the look of it whoever is going to perform in this match is going to get selected a good chance for the bench strength to show that they are up to the task!!
Azhar, Shan, rahat and Wahab are fighting for their spots!

Hafeez has his bowling action test coming soon so that could be why he's sitting this out.

Rizu could be a good choice here. You know how good a fielder he is. Especialy in slips he can give us mutch needed rescue.

I feel sorry for Sami Aslam. The first chance he is getting to hold a bat since he landed at England and it's a batting audition shootout between him and Masood for the Birmingham test. Even if he wins this one, it's going to be difficult at Edgbaston and people are going to be calling for his head if he fails there.

Just tuned in.....

  Are they literally dead batting everything ???? And is there any coverage going on for this match ??

Brilliant batting from team

this is what we been missing for long long time

Game is on for 3rd test

Dont worry they might not even score a run. Ridiculous batting. Its a fricking 2 day game

Playing like its a 2 decade game at the moment. A "watchful" start to say the least. I think they'll accelerate after blunting the new ball.

This is what you get when you have a batting shootout between two openers for the next test with both not in the best of forms and do not want to give their wicket away and miss out on the next test.

Shan Masood's strike rate is probably revealing about his current mindset atm.

Both batsmen playing for their spots...what did you expect?

Awful strategy though. I'd happily played Sami Aslam and told him you'll be our opener no matter what Masood does in this match.

Both are playing as if Walsh and Ambrose are bowling in Sabina Park, circa 90's.

0.90 , we are almost there guys
proud of u Shan Masood
Sami Aslam : living up to his reputation . Briliant

As I type 0.88 , fantastic

Feel sorry for the spectators and the kids that have come to see this dross.

4 runs off the last over :livid::livid::livid::((:((

that was not necessary, we were doing so great

now run rate gone to 1:15

That's y he should only get the gig if think tank believe he can bat for 90 minutes and see off the new ball. Can't expect him to go in and score big runs.
Otherwise just stick with masood

one thing an opening batsman shouldnt be is scared .... that is why i like hafeez. no matter what, inspite of his weakness, he is the most positive batsman we have got. love to watch him play when he gets going.

4 ? what are they thinking? we were doing such a good job, now they wanna throw away the hard work once again :69: :69: :69:

Sami Aslam used to be a fluent batsman!!!!

My freind spoke to him yesterday and he openly says he is really nervous and under pressure as he knows this practice game is make or break. I think the pressure is what is causing him to play this way, normally he is very fluent...hopefully he will open up now that he is a little bit settled.

Hope he will make it!!!

what i saw from pakistan cup .... sami can play spin well. dispatched saeed for 3 sixes. can play cut shot and better off side game than shan masood ..... so he should fare better. but he shouldnt get nervous if he wants an international career.

Scoring at such poor strike rates is a clear give away that you do not belong at the highest level.

Good start.

They can play 90 overs today and make 120-0.

Job well done.

He has already played 2 tests against Bangladesh. Couldn't do much specially in the 1st first where everyone got runs.

Both of them playing worse than Zimbabwe or Kenya.

The intent to score is better in a club cricketer.
