50s for both Shan and Azhar. Now they just need to replicate these runs in the next test

Bowlers don't need to bowl for a day and a half do they? It's the batting that's letting us down, let the top order players get time in the middle and runs under their belt.
 
Shouldnt one of them retire out now , give some practice to rizwan and iftikhar. The guys have been waiting all the tour.

Well you can blame them for not kicking Masood out earlier then. Sami should've played more than he has on this tour.

It's almost as if there was no prior planning at all.
 
Fun Fact : Shan Masood (75) had opening partnership of 135 on his debut vs South Africa along with none other than Khuram Manzoor(146) :misbah

They'll be lucky to bowl for a full day, let alone any longer than that. That's the point of 2 day matches.

Neither of them are going to play at Edgbaston so I'm fine with these two continuing until they get out or retire with a century.

so was shan's but you have to see the resources available. Babar azam likes to bat at number 4 and there arent many good openers in the country.

Other batsmen should be given a chance too.

No need for them to make useless hundreds.

What's the point of a day ending with 220-1 in 90 overs?
 
Its a 2 day match but is this a 2 inns per side match?

how was Shan's selection unfair? he was always going to be selected in the test squad for this tour since he has been with this team for quite some time; only thing bad happen is that Ahmed Shehzad was not selected for the test squad and as a result Shan is playing the test matches instead of being 3rd opener
 
These guys are selfish. They don't want Rizu and Ifti to play and succeed. It's a fact that in 2 day games. Pak will bat 90 overs if tgey can and the other side will bat tomorrow

Azhar should retire out now so that Rizwan can bat and maybe find some form, no point scoring all these runs in warm up games when you fail all the time in tests/

England has found him out so he will be dismissed early anyway especially at Edgbaston.

Azhar probably just wants another pointless warm up game 100 to put against his name so he can justify his continual inclusion in the team.
 
so According to Pakistani management Iftikhar is temperamentally weak . he hit a Six in test Match . no he is not suited to tast matches . he should make 4 runs in minimum 30 balls

This is another example of ego's/personal interest damaging Pakistani cricket. Small example but it's always this way and as you will remember guys like Hafeez etc. never rest as well to give youngsters a chance in ODI/T20's. Be it against Zim or Kenya.

U sure? The guy can block like 100 deliveries without any issue. Thats how Peshawar Panthers won the title. He was their anchor who stayed till the end.

yeah i know. but here he hit six his 7th ball. Paksitani management dont like aggressive players their fvt players are tuk tukkers .

Lol, don't be harsh on him, it's just a warm up game, I don't think ego is involved, and with this he is out.
 
AA should get a century, he needs to regain confidence before the next two matches. Our lineup will likely feature no changes for the next test match, so I really see no reason to randomly have our backups bat.

Of course, he just gets out.

Even Tendulkar was a lulloo at the start.

But this is PP. Young talented bats fail in initial chances or heck even one meaningless match, they'll start calling him rubbish etc.

Yah he was with team for some time and scoring at an average of 25. The guy struggles against the same opposition in much easier conditions for pace bowling and made a fool of himself. Now we are expecting him to well against Anderson and co in england , keep dreaming.

Iftikhar playing with a great sr, will he be able to play instead of Younis? Will give a part time bowling too don't know much about his bowling though
 
If Rizzu score good today, which is most likely considering pathetic opponents, can he play next game for us???
 
Rizwan will be a good addition to the side as an extra batsman. Drop Shan/Hafeez and put Rizwan at 6 or 7
 
Whoever gets to fifty first should be in the side :afridi

It is neck and neck at the moment..
