That said, none of it matters going forward. Semis are elimination round.

New Zealand have no chance in the semis. All their wins came against teams ranked 6th to 10th. They have been lucky!

Apart from India (which was rained off), they have looked poor against Pakistan, Australia and England.

This semi-final will prove that NZ were fortunate to have this same encounter against India, rained off during the the group stage phase of this tournament, while Pakistan were perhaps rather unfortunate to have their contest against Sri Lanka rained off, as they have probably lost a point they would have achieved 75%-80% of the time.

Proportionally speaking, India isn't the most talented cricket nation. You have a population of 1.3B and the most cricket crazy country. Even Pakistan aren't doing that well in that area, we're 210m people compared to Australia with 24,6m people and less cricket crazy people and yet they're better than us.
