Virat Kohli is probably the only Indian player I'd have loved to see, I just want to see Amir make him look like a tailender again :yk

Indian players were never going to tour even if BCCI agrees, GoI would barred them travelling.

The presence of Indian players would definitely make the match more intense, but it's not a realistic proposition as of now.

I am not sure how charged up the crowd would be as its not the Indian team playing.

I think seeing high-profile Indian players like Kohli or Dhawan facing the likes of Amir or Hasan would get the crowd fired up. Obviously, there will still be massive interest in the game without Indian players.

Pakistanis over here really admire Indian players.

Guys like Kohli, Dhoni and every other Indian batsmen is loved here.

So i'm sure if an Indian cricketer ever came, he would be respected and liked by the crowd over here. Todays Cricket fans of Pakistan are not that hostile to Indian cricketers.

btw will these games have international status like the past icc world 11s did?

Would have been great but we all know it was never going to happen.

Nevermind the joke....

Would have been great to have some Indian players as it's a World XI but never expected any to be part of the team for obvious reasons. Rumours of Kohli being part of the team a couple of weeks ago were pretty bizarre.

Nevertheless, I don't think the crowds will be any less enthusiastic.

last month BCCI chief had already ruled out allowing any Indian player(s) to travel Pakistan for World XI.
Apart from India, there is at least a player from all other major test nation.

Would have been a wonderful ice breaker if BCCI had allowed for it.

Seems like both sides prefer butting heads instead.

Think its a little pie in the sky thinking but nevertheless, good gesture by Afridi

Hey Major, I appreciate your words. But just the see the words of one of your fellow countryman. Not sure what respect you're talking of.

Ofcourse, if ever Kohli was to meet Amir, Amir would be shown the place he deserves.

Not sure how that comment indicated we are hostile against indian cricketers. What do you want us to say? "I wish Kohli could come here, and rack up runs against our bowlers"?

And yes btw, next time we meet, Amir would show Kohli his rightful place AGAIN. The best you can hope for is, that it doesn't happen twice in one match.

World XI would have been even better with Indian players, says Shahid Afridi

New Delhi: Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi believes that the World XI tour is an important development in restoration of international cricket in Pakistan.

In an interview to BBC Urdu, Afridi said he was happy that international cricketers were going to play on Pakistani soil, adding that it would have been even better if Indian players were also included in the World XI team.

Afridi lauded Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi and his team for their efforts to bring international cricket back in the country.

"The people of Pakistan love cricket and they want to see international cricketers playing in front of them", he said.

Afridi rued that the cricket grounds in the country were not being utilized properly since last eight years, after a militant attack on Sri Lankan team bus in 2009 deprived the nation of global cricket action.

The International Cricket Council's (ICC) World XI players arrived at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport amid tight security early Monday morning, a day before the much-anticipated three-match T20 series against Pakistan kicks off at Gaddafi Stadium.

Upon arrival, Andy Flower, the coach of World XI, said he was hopeful to play a good series against Pakistan.

"It's great to be here, we're looking forward to seeing a lot of you watching the great cricket we put on the show," said Flower.

"We've had a warm welcome. Thank you very much," he added.

The 14-member ICC World XI side, led by South Africa's Faf du Plessis, is scheduled to play three T20 matches in Lahore on September 12, 13, and 15.
