Would Ravi Shastri be an ideal coach for Pakistan?

Rahul Dravid will be the ideal coach for Pakistan. And I will give you the reasons why -

1 -Players from all countries respect him.
2- Very approachable.
3- Will always stand up for players. Will earn the respect of Pakistani players.
4- Will glue the team together.
5- Will teach them to be fighters and stick to the crease, even if one cant score much runs.

And if Saurav Ganguly can lead the PCB in any capacity, this same set of Pakistani players will become one of the best.

Haha, if this happens we should rename Pakistan to India A.

Ok

Misba Receiving Rs 3.36 cr/year.(28 lac/month)
Waqar - 2.4 cr/year (20 lac/month)
Inzi - 1.92cr/year (16 lac/month)
Mickey Arthur - $20,000 (14.3 lac/month or 1.71 cr/year)

Ravi Shastri - Rs 7.5 to 8cr/year (Head Coach)
Rahul Dravid -Rs 5 r/Year (U19 Coach)
Bharat Arun - Rs 3.5cr/Year (Bowling Coach)
Vikram Rathod- Rs 3 cr/Year (BattingCoach)

I am glad the idea i proposed many months ago is now finally seen as lucrative by majority.

Ravi Shastri would have been revolutionary for Pakistan cricket team.

In the words of the legendary Shoaib Akhtar this team lacks Jazba, Daleri, Jaanbaazi and Badmashi. Ravi would have helped gain this team all of it. He's got just the right attitude. Even when he was in commentary box he was influencing Indian team through his outspoken commentary and comments he would pass on through Mumbai likes. Tendulkar being the behind the scenes leader of that team voice of Mumbai was always strong.

Indian rupees or Pakistani rupees?

Besides it's not always about money. Kukbhushan Jadhav's case was fought by India's most elite lawyer for Rs 1 as a token fee only. Ravi would gladly accept Pakistani coaching job at a reasonable salary. Its a win win situation and it would also boost his coaching career let's not forget that. Bargaining power comes after a long and proven track record.

please pakistan hire an Indian coach. It may even reconcile the relationship between the 2 nation's.

Indian coaches salaries in Indian Rupees.
Pakistan coaches salaries in Pakistan Rupees.
Of course difference is there

In that case Indian coach salary will be double the figure almost. Please take into account.

Amazing that Indian U-19 coach has taken thrice the salary of Pak senior team coach. BCCI is a wonderful organization to work for.

Indian bowlimg and batting coaches are drawing more salary than CEO of many small companies.

Shoaib Akhtar should be Pakistan coach. According to him, there is a big conspiracy which ensures Pakistan players play cowardly and defensive cricket. Otherwise, they will deliver "Phaita" to all teams. Sachin didn't even had 1% of "talaunt" Imam, Shafiq etc have. Only Pak players have birthright to be talented.

Virat Kohli became a man under Shastri. That's Shastri's biggest contribution. Turning a brash boy into a confident man.

Ravi Shastri has helped Indian cricket become tagda and daler.

If this is true, PCB are paying twice as much to Misbah as they were paying Mickey?

On his way to go down as among the greatest coaches in modern history.

A genius man manager and motivator.

Hardcore professional.

Shrewd diplomat.

Ravi Shastri and Shoaib Akhtar could be dream coaching duo. Imagine the daleri they will bring to the system.

Ravi Shastri + Wasim Akram

This is actually a legendary duo for those who still remember Shaz & Waz on Star Sports :wasim They get along really well.

Please don't
Keep him :saslam

Give us Kohli if you're feeling especially kind...

I guess this is a joke thread but generally speaking Rahul Dravid is the real head coach of India. Shastri gets most of his products readymade with some finishing touches needed to be applied.

Baaki development used to happen under Dhoni who would help youngsters grow. Other seniors also take on this role now as they have stable places in the team and are performing at or close to the peak, so people like Kohli, Rohit, Dhawan, Ashwin, Jadeja etc can guide the younger crop.

Bharat Arun is a very underrated bowling coach and he does the bulk of the tactical work, and keeps the bowling unit in top shape.

The remaining 10% of player development is done at the IPL where kids are polished off and exposed to all the top class batsmen and bowlers.

If Pakistan wants to replicate such a system, we must begin at the U19 level where 80% of the work is done (this is where Dravid helped create Shubman Gill). Though our batting fates used to be in the hands of Ijaz Ahmed, Mohammad Yousuf has begun working with this current batch of U19 batsmen and the hope is that he can do a good technical job as he was technically astute himself.

I have been following Yousuf’s work in his short stint so far and I like the looks of it - he helped Faheem Ashraf rectify his balance and some videos posted by the PCB of his work with U19 batsmen shows he’s doing some good drills with them. Time will tell how this continues.

We must also look one level beneath and realize the need for school cricket.

Ravi Shastri will be a free agent after the World T20 and Pakistan need a new head coach. Have the stars aligned for Pakistan cricket?

Would love to have him. Already have floated this idea in another thread but would be hard due to his nationality.

There’s no way I would want him coaching pak even if he was the greatest coach ever. In the 90s he highlighted on a show how much he hates Pakistan. Pointless and actually a very implausible suggestion
