Yasir Shah - Performance Watch

for t20s he should be in there, he bats a bit, his bowling should get better with experience, and his fielding is a must in this team.

Is Yasir shah good enough to play for Pak in the Abu dhabi test? I think Cheema is injured and obviously the choice may come down to between junaid and wahab for variety sake and also unwillingness to have four spinners, but given englands problems with spin, do you think he is at the quality now to represnt pakistan in international tests. I think the PCB xi game is not relevant though he took a bucket load of wickets but just asking if he is international standard yet or maybe in a couple of years??? is he an all rounder?

Pakistan should play him in place of cheema, attack England with more spin. Also He is a leg spinner so there would be variety. He is also a good lower order hitter. Take the bull by the horn.

No , we can't risk playing only one pacer . What if the pacer is injured during the match. There should always be at least two pacers and we can't replace him with rehman after how he bowled in the match. Yasir shah will have to wait for the next series which I guess is against bangladesh.

Yasir seems to have worked on his Googly, which now turns a lot more. Cleaned bowled off one.

Zulfiqar Babar and Yasir Shah - the only two who looked threatening and took wickets in this match.

That googly to get the left hander bowled round his legs was a beautyyy

Good performance on a pitch, which according to cricinfo is not assisting the bowlers.

Yasir is improving day by day and bowling googly often so now . Will be an asset if he can get a little better with his googly.

Yasir Shah now has 30 wickets in test cricket at an average of 26.53, good going :shah

With England historically been poor against leg spin, I'm expecting a big performance from Shah come this autumn. He's going to be a handful against them, in'sha'Allah!

Yasir Shah right now is ranked 24th in the ICC Test Bowling Rankings. After this series I'm sure we will see a steep rise in that :shah

Ahh, don't know what to say about him. He's an asset in the field and I love his energy when he's bowling - but his stock leg-spinner is just not consistent enough atm. He needs to slow down a little in delivery stride, instead of bowling fast, convert all that energy into revolutions on the ball.

He has definitely improved his googly. But he needs to turn his leg spinner more.

As Yasirs performance has gone and he looks close to finished, I wanted to revisit his performance thread from his 2011 debut.

Kinda funny seeing people call him a "youngsta" even though he was probably already 27-28 in 2011. :P

He done and dusted pakistan in need of quality spinners dont really have much avaliable

Lahore, 29 February 2020:

Yasir Shah comes in as a replacement for Mohammad Mohsin in Peshawar Zalmi’s squad, it was announced on Saturday.

The replacement was approved by the event’s technical committee which includes PCB CEO Wasim Khan, Bazid Khan, Marina Iqbal, Sameer Khosa and Dr Sohail Saleem.

Mohsin, the 23-year-old leg-spinner, split the webbing between his middle and ring fingers of the left hand while fielding in his side’s HBL Pakistan Super League fixture against Lahore Qalandars in Rawalpindi yesterday. He will be out of the action for at least a week.

Mohsin was picked by Zalmi in the Silver category and he has, to date, featured in two matches this season. Pakistan’s leading Test leg-spinner Yasir Shah donned Lahore Qalandars’ colours from 2017 to 2019 editions.

In 23 HBL PSL matches, Yasir, who was unpicked in the player draft for this edition, has taken 23 wickets at an average of 25.21.

Yasir looked excellent in the 1st innings.

Put great revs on the ball, spun the leggie and googly.

Back to his best. :yasir

Yasir Shah offers more to the side than Naseem " I can see the fear in their eyes" Shah.

What’s with the hate for a kid mate? You must have been a pretty advanced 17/18 year old if you never said anything silly. :))

I don't hate him. I just think he is being fast tracked when he isn't ready.

And what does what I waa doing as a 17/18 year old have to do with me judging a cricketer?

Just because I am saying things you don't want to hear, doesn't mean I hate Naseem.
