How do I play a fast straight yorker !? I always try to drive it to the left and right and miss then my stumps get hit :( :butt

Practice against Lasith Malinga :D

On a serious note try blocking it for starters rather than driving...

this is the best tutorial video on how to play yorkers.

<object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/e6gPMq9qOTM?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/e6gPMq9qOTM?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object>

cant really smash yorkers. Ive always found them very easy to play, since i just jam my bat down, keeps me from getting out and stops my stumps from being demolished. Cant score runs if your out. :P

Easy. Just click the triangle icon...

If he's bowling consistent yorkers, just step up a bit.

It'll turn those yorkers into full tosses and you can smash them.

However, be careful for the inevitable short one.

stand a bit outside your crease next time....will become a full toss...when the bowler catches on to this....go deep in the crease and make it a half volley

This basically.

Take 2 steps fwd when bowler releases the bowl... try to play it behind to make runs instead of driving it... or you can go Razzaq style ;)

stand out (two steps) of your crease man and do not try to Drive! you should be defensive

keep your eyes firm on the ball move your feet to the legside a bit when the ball is about to come and try to get the bat right beneath the balla nd get it up with all your power and try to time it and hopefuully it would go for a six it does for me

I was always told to block Yorkers no bowler has enough stamina to bowl you 6 in a row.
unless if it's zaheer khan who reduces his pace when he bowls a yorker, gives him more control and not use much energy.

You can also stand right back in your crease and make it into a half volley but don't step on your stumps. :misbah

Also keep your backlift low.

I usually block the first few by jamming the bat down. If he keeps bowling them, just take a step out of your crease for the next ball, and then the yorkers will become low full tosses (which you can drive easily).

Keeping your backlift low helps. Don't ever try to drive it for runs, just dig it out.

block a few balls. if you get comfortable with the bowlers speed, take a step back in the crease and drive on the bounce or come forward and play it as a full toss.

Try moving in the crease. Front and back... I usually jam my bat down if a yorker comes in middle stump and take a single if available. Other wise move up and back to make low full tosses.

And if the bowler starts following you stop right their and send him on the international team bcz then he is bound to be better then :gul

Just pick your bat up and hit it for six bro.

You're welcome.

Not even in International Cricket have I seen any bowler bowling 6 consecutive yorkers in an over.

Best way to play a Real Yorker is to defend. There is no possibility for getting the bat under the yorker to hit a six.
