You Know Things are Bad When.....

When fans are happy that Pakistan has the number 1 ranked ODI batter and bowler and to hell with how the team does.
 
When you are hoping that your bowlers can keep the opposition under 400.
 
When you have half the points of your arch-rivals.
 
When people are criticising spinners who aren't in the World Cup squad, but won't criticise the spinners who are actually in the World Cup squad.
 
When 'experts' are telling us that only those rankings where their favourite players are doing well in should be accepted.

I wrote something like this when Pakistan failed to get a big win against Netherlands.

Pakistan need to crush weak teams during ICC events because other top teams are likely to do that and get NRR advantages.
 
When 'experts' think it's funny that Pakistan lost a high-quality spinner due to issues with drugs.

When fans were desperately talking about failing to qualify because of NRR when the last league match was against an opponent who PAK have beaten only 4 times since September, 2010
 
When Pakistani fans are celebrating India’s defeat because their own mediocre team gives them no reasons to celebrate.

You know things are bad when Saeed Ajmal, the spin bowling coach of the Pakistan cricket team, starts bringing a protractor to practice to ensure no one’s bowling action exceeds the permissible limit! 😄

Well, it's clear that this team and management plus the younger lot of talented players just don't take Test Cricket seriously.
When all your talented bunch aspire to make a name of themselves in the shorter formats, PSL and other mickey mouse leagues then the average players who don't get the chance to make the bucks, they end up playing the domestic 4 day matches and perform against the other average players.
Our brilliant selectors keep picking these average players on their domestic stats and later discard them, not knowing if they were international material or not in the first place. This cycle would keep on rotating.
