Amir maybe highest wicket taker but his place in this team is not right. 80% of his wickets are in slog overs catches at the boundary. How many lbws, clean bowled, catch in slips does he have in first 15 overs

No Kiwis not fair. So, I will have KW in the XI for now.

Rohit Sharma
David Warner
Kane Williamson
Shakib-Al-Hasan
Eoin Morgan (C)
Jos Buttler(wkt)
Hardik Pandya
Jofra Archer
Mitchell Starc
Mohammad Amir
Yuzvendra Chahal

12th Man- Lockie Ferguson

England- 3
India- 3
Aus- 2
NZ- 1
BD- 1
Pak- 1

What are you on about? Why after Mohammad Amir only?

Mohammad Amir has taken 3 wickets from 13 in the first 15
Mitchell Starc has taken 2 wickets from his 15 in the first 15
Jofra Archer has taken 4 wickets from his 13 in the first 15

Why are you not saying the same thing about tailender specialist Starc?

Mohammad Amir actually has taken the big guns out along with being the most economical, check before speaking.

I also initially thought I should be including a NZ player, which is why I included Ferguson as 12th man. But they have been playing well as a team, which of course is great, but I couldn't think of a standout performer to make this 11.
Personally, I am convinced that Amir makes it on merit.

Surprise so many people picking Archer and Starc in front of Cummins.

For me, Cummins and Amir are the top 2 bowler of the tournament so far.

Yes Mushy has been good, probably should have put him in as keeper instead of Butler but I haven't watched all the Bangladesh matches. Has he missed any stumpings or cathes, I can recall Butler missed one stumping.

What has Pandya done?

12th: Mushi

Honestly speaking, Midget should play over Buttler, but idiot has lost one vital game - I'll make him 12th man and tell batsmen to change gloves after every over :zardari........

Finch or Rohit over Jason Roy? Why?

Watching pretty much all the WC matches, feels like Rohit and Finch had more of an impact for their respective team's cause than ROY. Let's say Rohit goes out for a low score (as you saw in AFG match), we have a problem right after him. Not a stable/sure middle order. No doubt ROY has been great, but he played with less pressure than the other two, since his team is full of capable batsmen all the way till the end, hence for me, their innings and contribution were more note worthy.

Fair points. I'd still go with Roy due to him getting England off to a quick start more than once. A shame he's out for England but a boost for Australia on Tuesday and Pakistan who need Aus to win.

However, my team doesn't do any justice, because there are 4 Pom players (& haven't considered Morgan), and they might miss the SF. reason being, ENG so far has been absolute FTB/Minnow Basher/Choker ..... blasted weaker bowling teams on their favorable tracks batting first, then choked against PAK & SRL, and now sweating to win 2 out of 3 against IND, AUS & NZ - top 3 in table.

Without stats, on contribution value, I'll drop all 4 and pick Mushi, Bumrah, Finch, Pandeya.

What has Pandya done?

Mushfiqur missed a very easy run out against NZ as he broke the stumps before the ball reached his hands. Bang definitely could have won that game had he not missed it.

That will probably cost them the semi final spot.

Thanks bro. Far too many keeping errors in this world cup. Butler v Mushy so far is a close call, all other keepers haven't done much at all.

Shakib has been superb and so has Amir. If either of their teams reach the semis, they should be the favorites for MOTT.

PAK/BD/SL must be all cheering for AUS tomorrow.

It's a shame that PCB almost left him out initially. He is an impact player and is capable of absorbing pressure well. Form is temporary, class is parmanent.

That was a masterstroke by Inzi. Amir is at his best when he is motivated and feels like he has something to prove. Being left out of the initial 15 probably lit a fire inside him that hopefully, will burn intensely for the next few years, at least.

You should stop calling him midget in every post because then there would be no point in you complaining when other people abuse BD players.

He has helped your team win many matches and shouldn't be constantly berated for a mistake which wasnt surely intentional and should be given some leeway.

If only hasan ali got his act together, we would have been looking at the most instrumental bowling attack in this tournament.

One issue with this team is that the tail enders can't bat. Needed someone Like Shaifuddin, Coulter Nile, Wahab tbh.

Woah steady tiger! This is a nice team, but unfortunately the ICC wouldn't authorise a playing "XII"!

You’re right , Amir place should go to a Bangladeshi player . Amir’s highest wickets , lowest average, best economy rate is just a fluke , I agree .

1. Rohit Sharma
2. Aaron Finch
3. Kane Williamson (c)
4. Joe Root
5. Shakib al Hasan
6. Jos Buttler (wk)
7. Colin de Grandhomme
8. Jofra Archer

If only hasan ali got his act together, we would have been looking at the most instrumental bowling attack in this tournament.

WI chased 105 in 14 overs and the next 2 games you guys gave 300+. Only in the last game (Vs SA) did you guys manage to restrict a team under 300. Yet one bowler away from most instrumental bowling attack of the tournament. Pakistani fans, I tell you. Lose a game and some fans think their team is worst than Afghanistan, win one and the same ones feel the WC is there for the taking. Not talking about you in particular.

I really like this team and is probably made up of the best performers in the tournament, however I would get rid of Morgan and get Williamson in there.

Do you think Maxwell deserves to be in this XI ahead of de Grandhomme?

I hope not, am not Pakistani lol

Instead of chahal I'd prefer kuldeep because of his left arm leg spin & Butler instead of Mushfiq.

9. Amir

I was just thinking of the worst XI of the World Cup, not sure how poorly other players have performed from other teams but I would take Shoaib Malik, Hassan Ali and Shaheen Afridi in this XI ahead of anyone else, automatic selections in this team.. and depending on one of their 'senior' colleague's performance tomorrow, he's close to joining them and probably taking on captaincy.

Woah steady tiger! This is a nice team, but unfortunately the ICC wouldn't authorise a playing "XII"!

My bad. This is my new 11 (I have taken out Lockie Ferguson):

5. Shakib Al Hasan
6. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk)

My bad. This is my new 11 (I have taken out Lockie Ferguson):

1. Rohit Sharma
2. David Warner
3. Kane Williamson (c)
4. Joe Root
5. Shakib Al Hasan
6. Mushfiqur Rahim (wk)
7. Ben Stokes
8. Mitchell Starc
9. Mohammad Amir
10. Jofra Archer
11. Yuvzendra Chahal

Also, now my best bowler is Mitchell Starc

I would swap out Bumrah for Amir as Starc is already left arm and Bumrah adds more variety

Rohit Sharma
Aaron Finch (c)
Joe Root
Babar Azam
Shakib al Hassan
Ben Stokes
Nicholas Pooran (wk)
Mitchell Starc
Mohammad Amir
Lockie Ferguson
Imran Tahir

Bumrah has to be there as his ER has been exceptional coming to bowl lot of overs in depth. He has 14 wkts as well. So, Starc, Bumrah and Amir are my picks as pace bowlers.

My XI will be:-

Rohit
Warner
Williamson(c)
Root
Shakib
Stokes
Carey (wkt) (he has been quite impressive of the lot)
Starc
Amir
Chahal
Bumrah

3 Australians, 3 Indians are obvious picks given their fantastic performance in this WC. 2 Englishmen and 1 from NZ, Pak and BD makes it a solid XI men squad considering the performance till now in this WC.

Rohit Sharma
David Warner
Kane Williamson (c)
Joe Root
Shakib Al Hassan
Mushfiqur Rahim (wk)
Ben Stokes
Mitchell Starc
Jofra Archer
Mohammed Amir
Jasprit Bumrah

5 pacers to go along with SLA in Shakib & off spin in Kane.

Your World Cup XI

Mine is:

1) David Warner
2) Rohit Sharma (C)
3) Babar Azam
4) Shakib Al Hassan
5) Ben Stokes
6) Alex Carey (WK)
7) Muhammad Nabi
8) Muhammad Amir
9) Yuzvendre Chahal
10) Mitchell Starc
11) Jasprit Bumrah

Updated XI:-

Rohit Sharma
David Warner
Kane Williamson(c)
Joe Root
Shakib-Al-Hasan
Ben Stokes
Alex Carey(wkt)
Ravindra Jadeja(yes)
Mitchell Starc
Jofra Archer
Jasprit Bumrah

Sharma
Roy
Williamson (c)
Root
Shakib
Stokes
Carey (wk)
Archer
Shami
Starc
Boult

12th Man: Babar Azam

Sharma
Roy
Williamson (c)
Root
Shakib
Stokes
Carey (wk)
Archer
Shami
Starc
Boult

12th Man: Babar Azam

Bumrah over Shami anyday. Shami got wickets but that was a lot to do with pressure created by Bumrah at the other end.

Mine is:

1) David Warner
2) Rohit Sharma (C)
3) Babar Azam
4) Shakib Al Hassan
5) Ben Stokes
6) Alex Carey (WK)
7) Muhammad Nabi
8) Muhammad Amir
9) Yuzvendre Chahal
10) Mitchell Starc
11) Jasprit Bumrah

I don't understand your team selection. Is it personal preference? Performance wise - even captain wise, it doesn't make sense.

Jason Roy
Rohit Sharma
Kane Williamson
Babar Azam
Shakib al Hassab
Ben Stokes
Alex Carey
Mitchell Starc
Joffra Archer
Mohamad Amir
Imran Tahir

For most places you can find excellent replacements, the only big disappointment were spinners. Not even one Shawn.

Sharma
Roy
Williamson (c)
Root
Shakib
Stokes
Carey (wk)
Archer
Shami
Starc
Boult

12th Man: Babar Azam

12th always should be best fielder, bcs they're substitute.. So either Jaddu or Guptill..

So, my team now:

Roy
Bairstow
Babar
Williamson c
Root
Shakib
Stokes
Carey wk
Starc
Amir
Archer

Bumrah over Shami anyday. Shami got wickets but that was a lot to do with pressure created by Bumrah at the other end.

Shami simply got more wickets.

Shame he didn’t play the SF; could have won it for India.

Babar can't be in the team. 6 people have scored more runs the. Him. Root is in the final and is an outside chance to finish all time top scorer in a WC campaign
Shaheen a maybe

Roy
Rohit
Warner
Williamson(c)
Shakib
Ben Stokes
Carey+
Starc
Bhumrah
Archer
Freguson

I won’t pick any front line spinners, all have been average. Shakib is alone good enough.

I will pick three openers as top three

Throughout the world cup, Root has either scored in a losing cause (Pak) or his team mates had already smashed the opposition while he chipped in with few runs. He hasnt had any real impact game, only tiding up once the damage has already been done by the openers or Morgan (Afghanistan). Not worthy of World XI IMO.

Similarly, Roy would get in ahead of Warner/Finch for the impact he has made in fewer games.

Best XI of the world cup so far

Roy
Rohit
Williamson (c)
Babar
Shakib
Stokes
Carey +
Starc
Archer
Ferguson
Bumrah

Notable Omissions : Amir, Boult & Warner.
