Yuvraj Singh - A destructive player in limited overs Cricket

UV = Dhoni + Harby :)

UV is a better wicket taking bowler in our team other than ashwin
 
Today Yuvraj has saved us again. If not for yuvi we would have lost to Afghanistan. He is the man.
 
The man was the lone shining star for India in 2009 t20 wc. That six vs West indies (Dhoni-esque whip) was stunning. I hope he is fine and attains success in test cricket as well.

dont think so. Afgan never looked like winning during their chase. although they scared a sht out of indian team.
 
Didn't watch his batting, the more time he spends in the middle during these pre super-8 matches the better it will be for him. Batting is all about current form.
 
He is still not match fit. And he is not that kind of a bowler either who is lethal and cant be used where you can be certain that he ll deliver the goods.

The whole team barring kohli, raina, dhoni, and ashwin seems to be a baggage.
 
Don't like him, but he's effective for India. His bowling is made to look better than it is though. But the trademark slog sweeps are something.
 
He should prolong his career by retiring from tests.

Sir Gary Jadeja the triple century machine shall replace him in tests :msd

A very poor strategy to attack Indian hitters with spinners. Our thinking has gone to the gutters.

I have seen Yuvraj hit 150 km/hr yorkers for sixes. The guy has always been a hot talent.

UV is back one of the cleanest hitters in International cricket
 
Those sixes were like the Undertaker gongs. Margin for error so minimum, all the sixes went in the same direction, all bowlers knew that but still it kept happening.
 
The funny thing is that in the post match interview he was saying tht he couldn't hit any thing properly at practice :yk
 
He was in full flow and I have never seen anyone destroy Ajmal the way UV did.

Usually Ajmal comes back well of someone hits him for a six. But UV was relentless. Everything was disappearing into the crowd.

I never thought he would be back to this level. I mean i remember the days he was bald and had gained a lot of fat and lost muscles. :(
 
Ajmal became a monster after Hussey hit him. Watch out India.

On Yuvi's knock - it was long due in a big game after 07 world cup heroics. He is one clean striker.

Was at his best again yesterday, real match winner and among the finest limited overs batsmen of all time.

They need to be seriously educated on meaning of this term.
 
UV is a ttf in tests
But one of the best limited over batsman to come out of the last decade!
 
He's got so lean, looks like the Yuvi from 2000 ICC knock out. :)
 
He's always in it. With the ball, with the bat, even in the field. Just got Voges run out with a direct hit. Screw stats and all, he's done a lot more damage in ODIs than many so called all rounders and specialist greats. One of the best match winners in ODIs.
 
Is it all over for the man for the turneys? or is he saving his destructive best for a knock out? Hope so. Lets go Yuvi!
 
The guy is a fighter who has passed a tougher battle in life. Guess it is all in the mind. Fingers crossed that he comes good for one final hurrah in the next year's WC..

Yuvi plays his at his best when cornered or provoked. His six sixes were a result of Flintoff sledging him. He also tore into an English attack in an ODI getting a hundred in no time when he was hampered due to an injury.

Would one of the opponents provoke him now :p? Not likely against Bangladesh but very likely against Australia

Bingo...he usually plays a winning knock in either QF or semis and if India qualify I have a feeling Yuvi will play big role in Semis ...he might just hit the buck...
Although in finals his record is not great but eventually for India someone least expected steps up in finals.

Although in finals his record is not great but eventually as history shows since 1983 for India someone least expected steps up in finals... usually a left hander so if India reaches finals....I expect either Dhawan or Raina or Jaddu to pull of a unexpected great performance.
 
Its sad to see him playing like this .He doesn't look the same player after his treatment .

He is struggling and I hope that he does not cost India the game in crucial situations. I hope he comes good against Bangladesh. I still remember those knocks in 2007 WC, especially against Australia in Semi's, it was breathtaking.
 
Well past it. Not just with the bat but in the field as well. Time for him to call it a day in int'l cricket and make some money by just playing IPL.

That said, UV has always been one of my favorite Indian cricketers along with Zaheed Khan. So really hope he proves me wrong.
 
Gotta appreciate Dhoni's leadership for supporting his players so much.
 
He is just low on confidence. You could see how he played that last over, he didn't even back himself to clear the 30-yard circle.

We have to persist with him in this format, as for come-back in ODI's, that should take a while. We can't afford him with our openers failing consistently.
 
Must keep batting in top 4 though. Gotta give him time.
 
probably my favourite indian player even though i think he secretly enjoys pakistan's losses

but he is terribly out of form
