Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh face backlash for supporting Shahid Afridi Foundation

I saw Harbhajan's timeline and he was promoting all sort of charity work. Given the circumstances it's only befitting and makes sense if during his promotion he also gives a shout out to Afridi's foundation.

If from India's point of view Afridi is promoting terrorism by supporting the official Pakistani government's view on Kashmir then from a Pakistan's point of view Indian players are promoting terrorism for supporting Indian government's stance on Kashmir. It's pretty even on both sides and this game has been going on since 70+ years now so what's all the fuss about.

The difference is that no pakistani opposed the charity work when Afridi gave a shoutout to Yuvraj's charity.

No Pakistani media channel was criticising it. Nothing at all.

Compare that reaction to this.

Indians are generally more hostile and can't take a joke as compared to Pakistanis.

Very true ans the thing is if a person from another nationality shares their view on an incident where the Indian individual is at fault, they start targeting him. Quite Idiotic.

They already helped minorities by promoting Shahid Afridi Foundation which is providing ration for everyone regardless of their faith.

Well done Yuvi and Bhajji.

The hostility among Indians and Pakistanis have become so bad that even in the time of urgency, they cannot stand each other.

Thank you religion.

Harbhajan Singh took to Instagram to share a video of a Sikh man helping out an elderly lady amid the 21-day national lockdown imposed in India to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus. "This is so amazing to see. Help whatever we you can.. together we can win this war against corona," Harbhajan wrote with the video. In the video, the man helps the old woman with some things, before giving her a hug and consoling her. He also gives her some money to help her out.

The only problem with your above post is that you didn’t want to discuss it in the other thread as well. You posted a single time on that thread and didn’t acknowledge that the tweet was misleading even after it was exposed in that thread.
However you saw it fit to narrate the same exposed story to this thread knowing that it was now spreading misinformation.
I wonder what is motivating your actions?

Seems to be a new culture on social media etc that if someone praises others, people have to jump in and abuse them.

Cheap tactics.

Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar defended Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh who faced a backlash from social medial trolls for endorsing Shahid Afridi's charity foundation.

"It was inhuman to criticise them. It is not about countries or religion at the moment, it is about humanity," Akhtar told PTI.

Yuvraj and Harbhajan, two of India's most celebrated cricketers and World Cup winners, were declared 'anti-national' by the troll army, who found it objectionable to support the humanitarian cause by a fellow cricketer from Pakistan.

Yuvraj and Harbhajan were trolled for asking their social media followers to donate to Afridi's charity foundation which is doing its bit in Pakistan's fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

Yuvraj was forced to clarify his stand, saying he never intended to hurt anyone and his call for help has been "blown out of proportion".

"I really don't understand how a message to help the most vulnerable gets blown out of proportion! All I tried to achieve via that message was that to help people in our respective countries by providing healthcare, my intention was not to hurt anyone's feelings," Yuvraj tweeted on Wednesday.

"I am an Indian and I will always bleed blue and will always stand for humanity. Jai hind," he added.

Akhtar, who spent a lot of time in India as a commentator, recalled his days in Mumbai during the World T20 in 2016, the last time he came to India for work.

"I am forever grateful about the love I have received from the people of India. For the first time I am revealing this, whatever I used to earn from India, I made a significant amount there, thirty percent of it, I used to distribute among the low-income staff who used to work with me in the TV," he remembered.

He used to visit the city's slum areas with his face covered to hand out financial help to elder women there.

"From drivers, runners to my security guys. I took care of a lot of people. I was like if am earning from this country, I have to help my colleagues also.

"I also remember visiting slums of Dharavi and Sion in the wee hours to meet people I worked with," added Akhtar.

In the wake of the global crisis caused due to COVID-19 pandemic, which has claimed close to 90,000 lives and infected around 1.5 million people at the time of filing the report, Akhtar urged the two neighbours -- India and Pakistan -- to come together and support each other.

And to start, he proposed the two arch-rivals to play a cricket series to help raise funds.

"In this time of crisis, I want to propose a three-match series in which for the first time, the people of neither country would be upset at the outcome of the games," he said.

The two nations have not played a full-series since 2007 due to the terrorist attacks on India by Pakistan-based outfits and the resultant diplomatic tension. They only play each other in ICC events and Asia Cup.

"If Virat (Kohli) scores a hundred, we will be happy, if Babar Azam scores a hundred, you will be happy. Both teams will be winners irrespective of whatever happens on the field," he added.

The former fast bowler also sought India's help in procuring ventilators for Pakistan.

"If India can make 10,000 ventilators for us, Pakistan will remember this gesture forever. But we can only propose the matches. The rest is up to the authorities (to decide)," Akhtar said.

What will be reaction in Pakistan Twitter IF any Pakistan cricketer tweets and requests contribution for the covid 19 relief fund in India

What do you think would have happened if someone like akhtar asked pakistania to donate for india?
Simple question.

Nothing. Majority would actually appreciate donation for a good cause. We don't have a government and media shoving hate down our throat constantly about the other side.

Shahid Afridi: "Yuvi is doing great work, he is working hard for people, for children and my support will always be with him and I would like to request India's people to support his excellent cause, he is working for humanity. He has been given a name and has achieved a lot for India, now if he wants to give back and help people then they should support him."

Said this during a presser yesterday.

More quotes from Afridi:

"I would like to thank Yuvi and Harbhajan for supporting my cause, Harbhajan also supported a cause of mine in Bahrain. When I was in Canada, I went to support Yuvraj Singh's foundation and announced 10,000 dollars for it. Everyone in Pakistan supported me and no one said anything that why did you do that, why are you supporting India.

"It's a matter of humanity. Allah will forgive many things but he won't forgive us if we don't have humanity. The Prophet (PBUH) taught us this also, that we have to help people in tough times. The work we're doing in Sindh, 54% of the people we're helping are Hindus. We had a food drive in Karachi for the Hindu community, even Aga Khanis, Ismailis, Christians in Karachi and we will keep helping these people."

After Afridi's comments today in Kashmir - more backlash against the 2 cricketers.

Police Case on Yuvraj Singh for Casteist Slur Against Yuzvendra Chahal

An irresponsible remark on Yuzvendra Chahal & Kuldeep Yadav, by former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has landed the latter in big trouble. The left-hander could face some serious charges for his comments during a Tiktok chat with India opener Rohit Sharma.

During the interaction, Yuvraj made a casteist remark against Chahal and Kuldeep. These comments have not gone down well with a Dalit rights activist and advocate Rajat Kalsan. Kalsan has also lodged a complaint against Yuvraj in Hansi in Hisar as reported by Zee News.

This came as a big shock to the fans who called out Yuvraj for his insensitive comment. Later several tweets surfaced against the cricketer asking him to apologise.

After lodging the complaint, Kalsan targeted Rohit Sharma as well and said that he did not express his displeasure over Yuvraj's comment. Kalsan also demanded arrest of the cricketer.

Typical upper caste excuse when caught, that I don't believe in caste but use words like chamaar and bhangi as a slur. Should have been arrested under the SC/ST act which is non bailable.

Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has been in the news of late. After deciding to pull out of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 season due to 'personal reasons', Bhajji has lodged a complaint with the Chennai City police having been duped of INR 4 crore.

As per a report in the Times of India, the businessman to whom Harbhajan had given Rs 4 crore, approached the Madras High Court seeking anticipatory bail after the cricketer filed a complaint against his name.

As per Harbhajan, he had met the businessman through a common friend. He then loaned the amount to the businessman, named G Mahesh, in 2015. Over the years, Bhajji is said to have approached Mahesh several times but the latter kept delaying the payment.

Last month, Mahesh had issued an INR 25 lakh cheque to Bhajji which bounced due to insufficient funds. Having gone to Chennai recently, Harbhajan decided to formally lodge a complaint with the police in the case.

As per the report in the paper, the petition has been forwarded to Neelankarai assistant commissioner of police Visveshvaraiah to probe the matter. Mahesh has already been summoned by the ACP for an inquiry. He has put in the request of anticipatory bail in the Madras High Court which is presently pending.

Mahesh, meanwhile, has stated in his affidavit that he had taken the loan from Harbhajan after issuing an immovable property at Thalambur as security. As per him, all the dues have already been paid to the Indian off-spinner.

FIR Filed Against Former India Cricketer Yuvraj Singh For Casteist Remark

An FIR has been lodged with the Haryana Police against former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh for making casteist remarks last year. The complaint has been filed by a Hansi-based Rajat Kalsan lawyer who alleges the comments have hurt the sentiments of Dalits.

Last year in June, Yuvraj’s comment on India legspinner Yuzvendra Singh during an Instagram chat with Rohit Sharma had resulted in a controversy with the allrounder issuing a statement, expressing his regret for ‘unintentionally’ hurting anybody’s sentiments.

The FIR has been registered under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of IPC, besides sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of the SC/ST Act. “This comment has hurt the sentiments of Dalits as millions of people have watched this video on social media,” Kalsan was quoted as saying to The Indian Express on Monday.

He has also demanded Yuvraj to be arrested.

After being criticised for his remark, Yuvraj, who scored over 11,000 runs during his international career, has claimed he was “misunderstood”

“This is to clarify that I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception,” the statement from the 2011 ODI World Cup’s man of the tournament read.

“I understand that while I was having a conversation with my friends, I was misunderstood, which was unwarranted. However, as a responsible Indian I want to say that if I have unintentionally hurt anybody’s sentiments or feelings, I would like to express regret for the same. My love for India and all its people is eternal,” it added.

Yuvraj had announced retirement from international cricket in 2019.

Just like Sachin, both Yuvraj and Harbhajan are ZERO in my eyes as public figures for their silence / rather support of the fascist government against the farmers of India.

I have unfollowed them both on social media platforms and will stay committed to not contributing anything that brings them attention, fame, financial gain of any kind.

I love my people more than I ever loved our cricketers.
