Zimbabwe end Day 2 of the 2nd Test at 52/4 & trail Pakistan by 458 runs

Nauman would not be bad in our ODI team as spinner to stop runs and very handy batsman, better batsman than the overrated Nawaz. Nauman has done well against SA too.

Use this time to develop other skills, these tactics of batting two days to crawl to 400 looks good against Zimbabwe and we can all say well done but when we come to england Australia nz etc etc and we need to rotate strike and get runs on the board we have all seen what happens. Can you really say your happy with 400 of 2 days against zim when the ball stops doing something after 20 overs? Regardless of test match or not, we lack that a ruthless streak.

It will be almost 500 with a session left in 2 days. So I say not bad especially from a relatively inexperience Pak team on a pitch where runs are not easy to come. The more they play the better they will get.

Why did Hassan Ali came before Nauman ? You would think Hasan is a better batsman for being promoted up the order.

Interesting suggestion and considering his stroke play today and decent defence he showed vs SA definitely something that should atleast be considered.

However, I doubt that will be given much thought in Pak cricket. He plays for Northern which already has Shadab, Nawaz and Imad in whiteball cricket so he is not likely to get much oppurtunities at domestic level as well by the looks of it. He is treated well at Northern and has been their FC captain in recent times so doubt he will be moving as well.

He is a pretty handy spinner as well in whiteball cricket.

Ab Nauman ke 100 ka intazar karna hoga, but credit to him he is trying to tonk as much as he can.

Nauman passed his 50 after abid past his 200, abid still faffing around on 212 nauman has almost reached his century, that’s what you call intent hasn’t been slogging every ball just been positive in his shot selection. Even 400 would be enough realistically to bat once against this zim team let’s not beat around the bush

If Abid can carry the confidence and form to WI, that would be great.

Abid saying to Nouman “Sensible, sensible, sensible khelna hai”. :smith

It's a shame I would not get to see Tabish bat, just to see how he bats. Pak have a solid tailend now.

With his batti g ability and tight bowling Nauman is another player that could have played a lot earlier for Pakistan, certainly ahead of Bilal.

Could he displace Shadab in the T20 squad? Wonder?

Based upon recent selection policies he will have to perform in domestic white ball cricket first I think. With guys like Shadab, Nawaz, Imad and now even Mubashir available at Northern’s disposal he hasnt got white ball opportunities with Northern. Definitely deserves opportunities in white ball cricket at domestic level at least to show his pedigree as at the moment he is considered a red ball specialist in the Pak cricket circuit.

Unlucky but should have been more aware as well. Cheeky for Zimb keeper

Nauman should have been more sensible. Wasted an opportunity to get a 100 after so much hard work.

Unfortunate way to go, the tailender in him came out there. Abid Ali slow motion before tea slowed him down otherwise he had the momentum with him, need to take a few wiCkets before days done minmum

Not a Pakistan match unless there is some silly way to go out.

Well played Nauman.

Quality first over by Tabish.

What a surprise! That Guy with FC experience knows where to ball and how to set up a batsman.

First up, looks like he's putting the ball there rather then going through with his action.

That was missing leg stump, that’s why DRS is essential at Test cricket.

Tabish must have been good. Genuine shape away from right handers with good control. Nice wrist position.

Tabish, Nauman, Fawad, Saud, Usman S, Zafar G etc talents rotted away for long in domestics. Some a lot longer than others.

I’m telling you right now Tabish is gonna make em dance in the WI, he’ll be lethal with the Dukes.

Tabish moving it both ways. Waqas Maqsood can do that as well and was 2nd best pacer after Hasan in QAE but, is yet to get a nod. Obviously you cant have too many players in their 30s but at the same time you also cant have players coming into national team who havent developed their skills for top level fully yet.

Age is just a number it’s fitness and performance that matters.

This Zimbabwe series going to hurt Pakistan in the long run.All these useless players are doing well against this club level side is not good.

This Zimbabwe side is not even club level. They are so so bad.

OK you must have played for super clubs. It's not if likes of Hasan Ali and Fawad did nothing against SA. Tabish has been top performer in pak domestic circles for years.

Yes fitness and performance definitely takes priority. Also I believe that in modern day cricket and even in other sports the fitness level, overall facilities, nutrition research etc. Everything has improved making athletes to last much longer at a professional level than ever before.

Well if these “useless” players are doing well then what have our “talented” players done?

So what's you solution replace HasanAli, Tabish Khan, Nauman Ali with Naseem Shah, Musa K, and Nawaz. What exactly you want PCB selectors to do?
Or just posting to please the doom and gloom king Mamoon.

If guys like Jimmy are still performing then why can’t we give some time to Tabish? It just goes to show that our more mature players should be acknowledged which nobody on this forum does with age brigade zero fans who don’t know nothing about cricket.

Shaheen being outshone by Hassan and Tabish. This is a good pace attack.

With Faheem as an all rounder giving the 4th seamer option, decent outlook overall for SENA and pace friendly conditions.

Wil be interesting to see the comb in WI. Surfaces there in last couple of years along with the induction of dukes ball have been pace friendly so a good combination forming before that.

Both hasan and tabish are around 5'7". Tabish may be even lesser. Not ideal fo Aus SA NZ

Don't really see a place for Tabish in any SENA tours, pretty sure we don't tour there in the next WTC cycle, and age is not on his side. Will be a good asset in Windies though.

Pakistanis are not very tall on average, and you cannot have all tall bowlers anyway. We do not play in Australia for long time.

If Pakistan gets the opportunity to enforce the follow on , should Pakistan enforce it or rather bat again for the likes of Babar to get some practice ? What do you guys think ?

Also batting would be even more difficult in the 4th innings..

Beating Zimbawe by an inning hardly matters, so I would rather Pak bat again for practise.

Will need seamers who hit the pitch hard, unless they're very accurate like Roach.

When are Pak scheduled to tour WI?

July August 2021. 3 Tests and 3 T20s.

It will be a challenging series for Pakistan. WI are no pushovers at home and have recently unearthed talented Batsmen like Meyers and Bonner.

Debut wicket for Sajid Khan. Really good 4 balls and than a straighter one.

Sajid Khan gets his first Test wicket!

Shumba did not read the wrong-un at all, no shot offered and would have smashed off stump.

Selfish attitude from Babar not to let Abid (even though I don't like him) to score 300 or even more. We don't have many individual 300 score innings in our test records. Typical Akmal attitude.

I agree. With dukes ball there will be some movement on offer as well throughout the test so Hasan and Tabish can come in handy as they have shown decent accuracy. Faheem will like the surface I think with his kind of bowling If required Dahani can be debuted there as he offers that pitch hard variety, someone like Arshad could have been handy as well but, he needs a good domestic season or two.

I agree. In NZ maybe can come in handy but, for Tabish dont see much role in Aus and SA.

Markhor how do you think the bowling attack should be shaped for WI?

Tabish gets angry every bowl, or is that way it appears with his frustration of just missing out each time.
