Zimbabwe tour of Bangladesh (2025)

Sylhet is a tough pitch to bat last on. Zimbabwe would've crushed Bangladesh had they batted first
 
Zimbabwe lead is 16. They need minimum 75 leads as batting last will be very difficult on this pitch. :kp

Young Bangladeshis are as stupid as their cricketers , quite obviously. The reason they don't enjoy cricket is because their team has been shi* for two and a half decades.

Not talking about sides, talking about the game itself. Both sides are playing rubbish.

Bowlers aren't doing anything special and the batters are throwing wickets away left and right.

Yeah. It has been terrible. Lots of errors from both sides.

Reminds me of my amateur club cricket days.

Bangladesh played better vs Pakistan. Their top order was weak but their fielding, bowling and overall quality of Middle order was better vs PK.

No clue why their so inconsistent vs Zimbo

They have been away from international cricket for a while. A bit rusty perhaps.

BD bowling is okay currently. But, batting is truly associate-level. Need to improve batting big time.

Pakistan vs West Indies 2 match test wasn't one sided either.

Wi made Pakistan earn their victory on that doctored pitch in the first game and Pakistan lost in the 2nd.

But despite being relatively close encounters, the test itself was rubbish due to the doctored nature of the pitch.

So no, test cricket isn't good if it isn't one sided lol. That logic doesn't even make sense. Some of the best one sided games in test cricket have been better then close encounters.

Steve Smith's 33rd and 34th hundred vs India in BGT and both games being one sided affairs were more memorable then this game.

Similarly NZ slaughtering India 3x in a row in their own den was more memorable as well.

One sided Ashes games have been more memorable as well primarily due to Steve Smith comebacks.

So was Pakistan's unbeaten UAE run at home despite all games being heavily one sided in favour towards PK.

BD 2nd innings - 57/1 (13 overs).

BD are trailing by 25 runs.

Day 1 was dominated by Zimbabwe while Day 2 belonged to Bangladesh.

BD are kind of back in the game.

I think game should be over by Day 4 (maybe even Day 3). :inti

Yeah, we are inconsistent batting unit. Right now BCB even hired local batting coach. Obviously after failure they will say things like we are still "learning," and are behind rest of Test nations. People are tired of this and shifting their loyalty/fan following to football now.

It is mostly boomers and millennials in BD who love cricket.

Gen Z and Gen Alpha don't seem that interested in cricket. My brother (gen Z) doesn't understand cricket rules. He plays football and follows various North American sports. My Gen Z cousin also doesn't understand cricket.

Most Gen Z and Gen Alpha of BD are interested in football. That's what I observed.

Maybe football will become the most popular sport in BD 50-100 years from now. :inti
 
I am glad this series has 2 Tests instead of 1 Test. BD and Zimbabwe often play 1 Test for some reason.

I would've loved 3 Tests. Test is always fun. :inti
 
cricbuzz : Play to start at 1 pm local. The players have taken lunch, the conditions are definitely better and we hope to have plenty of cricket for the day. Tea will be taken at 3:20 pm and we can go as long as 6 pm to complete the stipulated overs for the day

Good recovery from BD after a horrendous Day 1.

Job is not done yet. Need to give a target of 220-250. Pitch is not easy to bat on; 200+ should be challenging.

A great performance by Muzarabani. Has run in all Test match despite having trundler Nuachi and a half fit Ngarava at the other end.
 
174 is a very tough 4th innings chase on pitches like Mirpur and Sylhet.

Will require an incredible chasing effort.

absolute embarrassment to lose a test match at home against Zimbabwe.

BD players played 95% of the time in Mirpur and Ctg, especially Mirpur low bounce wickets they are so accustomed to it in Dhaka where everything is held too like FC and DPL. So, when they play in Sylhet which is bouncier its like they are playing away from home in alien conditions.
 
Wow Bangladesh players should be the most talent less for a reason. Even after playing for so many years on those slow pitches , lost to zim who dont play test matches at all especially on spin wickets.conceding lead and getting bowled for 191 is the most embarrassing stuff.

Bangladesh has been receiving special treatment from the ICC & big boards but they are still minnows. Yet their fans have the audacity to complain. This team shouldn't be getting direct entry to WTC.
 
Zimbabwe should quit playing Test cricket because they make big losses hosting Test cricket and they had 0 ranking points before this Test.

Bangladesh should quit for losing to Zimbabwe at home apart from getting smashed by most teams away and even at home. Also don't have the talent.

West Indies should quit for their inability to beat even this Bangladesh side at home

Pakistan should also quit for getting washed by this hapless BD side and inability to beat Windies despite industrial scale pitch tampering.
 
I would strip away BD test status and give it to UAE. UAE with their rag tag bunch of expats and migrants would be better than this toyger team within 5 years of funding and support.

Well it is understandable when you realize you are watching BD play. They are the definition of whiners, moaners and known for their victim mentality. Their fans will now claim they lost the match as a clear catch only visible to their fans was denied by ICC==BCCI
 
I thought Zimbabwe lost their Test playing nation status.

Thanks to BD, now we know Zimbabwe still plays 5 day game. :cobra

Clutch player is injured going into his dream move to play PSL, unfortunately. He was really passionately looking forward to play in the Pakistani league and experience beautiful warmth and love especially Pakistanis have for Bangladeshis. unlike in IPL getting mistreated by his dadas in Kolkata, after one bad game.

Nobody was mistreated by an IPL franchise. He is simply not good enough to play at IPL standard.

The only mistreatment was by BCB , cajoled and supported by certain fanatics.

Understandable why you are blind to that, though
