Farhan is the new savior of this team. After 10 matches, he will be another TTF.
 
Dropping Haris seems really harsh but at least Asif Ali is playing (and no Hafeez!)

would you name some top sides for me?
Currently only India and England can be categorised as top sides. Others are dependent on a particular set of players

And considering the current situation Pakistan are a good side if we are able to find a decent partner for Fakhar. I mean Depth in batting, decent pace attack,Sarfaraz and Babar in the middle order, a talented leggie and okayish set of hitters down the order make us a good side.

The pitch is not easy to at on. Even Fakhar is finding it hard who is in good form.
 
Imam really does look poor. His lack of strike rotation is more to do with a faulty technique rather than difficult conditions
 
If Inzi is not selector Imam would never make it to even Pakistan A side.
 
What horrendous batting. Just shows you how much the team falls apart if Fakhar struggles to score quickly.
 
I'd rather have Asif Ali open and haris playing in the middle order which will provide you with an extra bowling option
 
People need to chill. Yes the start has been below par but conditions aren't that easy.

They are playing in the early morning so toss is crucial.

Hopefully they will experiment with that combo at some point this series.
 
Imam looks like a Salman Butt 2.0. Might look stylish but is actually pretty mediocre.
 
Imam list A stats: 34.03 average with a 72.45 SR.

This is why domestic stats are extremely important. If you can't score at a high rate in the domestic level, it certainly won't happen magically at the international level.

Good start in my opinion. The openers are spending quality time in the middle and that's what what counts. I don't think Zimbabwe can chase even 200. Let the batters get some good practise.
 
Even worse than Imam's innings are the Zimbabwean bowlers, who don't look like they want to take wickets
 
Is this one of those sluggish ZIM pitches that we have seen in recent years? If yes then this start is acceptable.

Early morning starts and weather mean toss is crucial. Batting first is more difficult.

Yes but with Mickey's arrival one would have thought things would change for the better. Imam would have been an ideal player 20 years ago. Not now.
 
Nice test match innings being played by Imam. Finally hits a 4 as i write this.
 
This is a deceptive innings from Imam - you can check the scorecard and see a good SR now but against better attacks they won't allow him to catch up after the slow start he had.

He hasn't changed since the he first time i saw him so yeah by now i expected him to have done something about it. He doesn't need to lift weights with fractured wrist, How about put some meat on those bones first.
 
What is the point of an innings like this in ODI cricket these days? You play 30 dot balls, suck all the momentum out of the innings, build pressure on your partner and then limp your way to a century against a side whose bowlers probably have a 2% chance of getting you out
 
Seems Imam is destined to score an undeserving century today.

A rookie playing his first game in 2 months can’t he improve if he is batting like this come game 3 then sure drop him but right now give him a break

He's injured.

The others like Taylor are out due to a dispute with the board over unpaid wages and Taylor wanting to set up a players union.
