Okay not exactly 10 years as the 2nd test of the Pakistan vs SAF Test in 2007 finished on October 12th but i wanted to post this before I forget :danish.

The SAF tour of 2007 was the last time we lost a Test series at home with a score of 0-1.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_cricket_team_in_Pakistan_in_2007–08

Since then we have won 5 Test series and drawn 5 in the UAE/Pakistan.

We should be celebrating but are unfortunately fretting over the possibility of ending this run to THIS SL team

Don't worry Pakistan would launch a terrific comeback and shock everyone.

So Just 5 Test Series wins in a decade :broad

Yes but keep in mind we did not play a completed home test series in 2008 and 2009.

In 2010 and 2013 - we only played one Test series at home and that was to an ATG SAF side lol

Also, in 2011, 2012, 2015 and 2016 - we also only played one Test series at home...

At best it would be a 1-1 draw at home against a very poor SL side. Nothing to be proud of...

Still, just 50% series win record is just average. Drawn Series is an achievement for the visiting team.

For reference in the last ten years

England won 75% of its home series
Australia won 70% of its home series
South Africa won 60% of its home series
India won 83% of its home series :srini

Only NZ and Sri lanka have the same 50% win ratio as Pakistan

Which series was not completed in 2008 if you don't mind me asking ?

In itself yes but given we have lost the first game and the pressure tonmaintain the unbeaten run, next game is HUGE

Some of the losses have been huge phainties as well.

2013 vs SA at Dubai - lost by an innings and 92 runs
2014 vs SL at Dubai - lost by 9 wickets
2014 vs NZ at Sharjah - lost by an innings and 80 runs

Pakistan is the only team that has not lost a home series in that period
All else aside that is a hugely impressive record .
2 test series are always the trickiest and most of the drawn ones are 2 test series . Credit to pakistan for achieving what no other team has .

From 1982 to 1994, Pakistan didn't lose a series at home. They played 16 test series, won 12 and drawn 4.

You can extend it to 1973, played 23 test series, lost 1, won 15 and drawn 7.

From 1995 to 2001, was the worst phase. Played 11 series at home, lost 7 and won 3 and drawn 1.

From 2002 to 2007, played 11 series, won 7, lost 3 and drawn 1.

From 2008 to 2017, played 10, won 5 and drawn 5. Won't be winning this series either.

Sri lanka ended pakistans long unbeaten home test streak from the 80s to the mid 90s. Lets hope they dont end our UAE streak!

They will end the UAE streak. This is what PPers get for underestimating Sri Lanka.

Pakistan drew two 2 test series and two 3 test series.

its been a very good achievement to remain undefeated in home venues for the last decade. But we havent been as dominant as we should have been.

Sure. If you wanna see it that way. Pakistan's percentage of UAE series wins is only 50%. That's on par with SL and NZ.

Read the thread title again.Pakistan is the only team that hasnt lost a test series at home in that period . It is what the thread is about not how i would like to see it . Now how many teany teams have remained undefeated in a home series for that length of time ?

This will continue for another 10 years at least .I don't see srilanka winning next match.Very very impressive record.
