where is the 20 20 WC next year?

South Africa. Should be in Bangladesh though considering they havent got a tourney since 2000 or even NZ.

SA just had one WC in 2003.

Kamran droped another catch. Whats new. Man SA is going to win this by 10 wickets and 6 or more overs to spare.

Geez - what a thrashing.

Hats off to the saffies. Hope our ODI performances don't go in a similar direction :31:

u cant blame kammy, i doubt hes used to getting catches in the outfield without gloves...have some sympathy

huge 6 by Smith off Afridi. This is a massacre

Since our batting was faulty, I am kinda hoping they would let SA play the full 20 overs for kicks.

if i was SA captain ,i would batted all 20overs.

I don't think it matters if he has gloves on or not.

Smith is the highest 20/20 score internationally. Not a bad average!

Bro this is international cricket-....

I play club cricket and it was a simple catch for club cricketers... ::J

I am just wondering. How within a 10 minute inning break....how does a pitch go from medium pacer pitch to a flat batting wicekt?

I honestly thing these home curators use heavy rollers to flatten the pitch in the second innings. jsut gives more advantage to the team who wins the toss.

Thats what i was thinking, is that the same pitch? :O

its the same pitch, just different bowlers and batsmen. And fielders.

so do i...and i know it was one hell of a simple catch...but hes been keeping his whole life probably and hes not used to it. all im saying...give the kid a break...hes had one terrible season...just support him...we all know what hes capable of

I ahve seen a lot of excuses here on pp..but this has to be on top of the list ! :))) :)))

Pakistan was 150 runs short I guess ... Saffies might have scored psycholgical points here ..Pure Massacre ..

Nope, it's just that Pakistan's bowling was more than ordinary and their batting more than ordinary. Excuses excuses excuses

well done to SA, rubbish from Pak. It seems i expected too much before the match

Rameez saying that Kaneria sent back was a big selection error and he is not hopeful that Rehman would trouble SA in the ODIs as well-- said the right thing about Kaneria but not at the expense of Rehman who did get clobbered but who didn't today-- its over in a blink of an eye-12 overs not completed !!

that was an abysmal performance from pak
no excuses should be given at all
ok it might have been 20/20 but to not take 1 wicket is atrocious on fairly decent bowling conditions

Those were the views of the commentators.

(un)fortunately we're not allowed to use expletives to descibe our feelings on the performance

how bout his 113 against india...when we were 39/6
and his century in india when him and razzler saved the match...
with the gloves...ok i kinda do agree with u...hes been pure crap

Guys, don't lose too much sleep over this match. It was a very poor performance from Pak, but at the end of the day it was a 20/20 match.

I expect them to perform when it really matters in the 50 over ODI games.

No one said it was a excuse. I fully commend South Africa because they opened a big can of whoop **** on us.

However, this is point I have been making for a year. I notice it alot in world cricket espicially in places like South Africa and NZ. I notice the first innings teh ball is going all over and second innings, it seems to tame down.

This is not the first time I made such a inquiry.

yaar you are talkign about his BATTING performances from over a yr ago, and the Mohali partnership was a full 2 yra ago. Neither is relevant to our discussion on his keeping.

ok fine...his keeping sucks..and it has ever since he went to england. there

20/20 are fundamentally not all that different from 50 over ODI games. This doesn't bode well for the ODIs( though to be fair, India won the 20/20 and then lost the ODIs 0-4)

Not excuses mate. I am not English remember. :) Atleast in Canada when we lose, we give credit where is due!

Are they going to play a 10/10 match to fill in all the spare time?

Vow, that was pure massacre of the highest degree.

Icing on the cake with that six as well

May be the pitch is created by the Makers of Tylenol time release pain pills.

Actually the match finished on correct time due to the rain break.

They are completely different....the mentality, the pressure, the field regulations. It is ultimately massala cricket.

132 from 11.3 over a new record in International 20-20 games for any wicket and probably the biggest thrashing as well - Well played SA - Pakistan just sucked today- no point in thinking of excuses- outclassed/ owned / thrashed like anything.
ODI series now looks more 5-0 or 4-1 to SA then what I had earlier hoped for --3-2 or 2-3.

HAHA Excellent reply! Reply of the week :p

Good to see that there is relative sanity here and people have not read to much into a 20-20 game (well, not everyone)

Haha, this is jokes, I went to eat lunch outside... and I come back and find this :))) .

But yes, this 20/20 has no bearing, so Pak fans don't be so disappointed... Pakistan have a whole ODI series to look forward to.

Never, now where is my wrist slitting knife?

Bosman Loots Pakistan and gets the Man of the match... Younis says that Inzi is fit and has had nets today.

1 day rest and lets see what team we get for the sunday game- Asif cannot be rested- Well , atleast Hafeez looked ok so he can play with Nazir and then Malik, Afridi & Razzaq can fight for two spots.
Rana, Asif and Beera or Rehman can get the bowler spots. ZH for keeper.

Good performance our next target should be to loss 0-5 in odi series.

If only Akhtar had been playing, we definitely would have won. ::J

It is still very important to go into the ODI Series with a win behind you. The thrashing we have received today would certainly bring down the whole team. Lets hope they atleast put up a fight against South Africa

It depends on the players really. It was pretty obvious that they were not really interested. The most important thing is that the new guys got a bit of time in the middle. It wasn't much time but it was some time under the lights and in SA conditions and atmosphere.

win or lose was irrelevent really in the bigger scheme of things. 20-20 is just swish, bang and wallop and if you are lucky you pull it off.

All of these new guys need a serious kick up their backside if we are to win the forthcoming series! The way they played today was embarrassing. I am sure even England would fail to match upto our performance today

Exactly both India and NZ won the 20/20 in SA but than got the crap kicked out of em in the ODI series. Which is why me thinks, it will be on etough ODI series....but I would not read too much into this lost.

New game, new day, new hope.

The way they played today will have no impact on the ODI series result at all.
