India need to plan the chase well if they target 120 from 5th bowler's over chase will become easier
 
India choked again in the last 5 overs.

I cannot believe he gets to play as a specialist bowler. Even Raina could have given 75 runs in 10 overs. Don't understand the point of him in the team.
 
Massive target. Time to see how much does the famed batting live up to its potential.
 
How many of you here think Rohit has to play his best to chase this total ?

India can chase this, why all the pessimism Indian fans. We have the batting line up to do it. I really hope the players dont have the same belief as some of you guys right now.
 
Too high for India.

290-300 was more chaseable.

I think India will lose by 50 runs.

We made such a good comeback, but last 5 overs spoiled it. Rohit will be key, I hope he is not overly defensive to start of.

Lol raina doesn't bowl 150 km off spin to rob the batsmen of time. This is why even ajmal was getting hammered during end of his career prior to getting banned. I'm with dhoni if his thinking

Chasing 328 under lights with the pressure of a semi is tough.

Not to mention, it's the Aussies bowling.
 
Fear of indian choke.... I am hopeful but not confident...328 is still winning score batting first.

India's strength has always been their batting and not their bowling, they did bowl well earlier but it wasn't a surprise to see ordinary performance from them today. Indian batters needs to show why they are rated so highly today, if any team can chase today then its India
 
Against Aus, chasing 330 runs in semis is bit too much. Aus is pretty much in finals. Indians have to bat out of their skin to chase 330 in semis against Aus.

95-5 in favour of Aussies. With a pretty much washed out dhoni and I consistent batsmen like rahane dhawan rohit and jadeja, I think India will score around 250
 
This is such a total that both teams will be a little disheartened...Australia because they were set to get 350 when Maxwell was there and India would have thought they could restrict Aus to 300 after Maxwell,Clarke,Watsons wickets

I don't think your bowlers choked. Aus had many wickets in hand.

You don't need to bowl 150 to rob the batsman off the time ..... ever see Afridi / Chris Harris and Michael Bevan bowl ? Do you see what those guys did ? They were quick through the air , and skidded off the pith , didnt flight the ball nor were big spinners of the ball. Ashwin and Vettori have the variation and skill set to flight the ball , jadeja doesn't . jadeja flighting the ball makes it very easy to line him up and slog over midwicket.
 
Now, watch the aussies attack with the ball considering the target.
329=350+ under lights, in a semi.
Not to mention the rr pressure.
India has been playing slow in the first 10 overs from the very start and the strategy worked for them but this target is too much for their usual tactics.

I think, AUS is about 60 ahead. It's not an easy wicket, ball 'll reverse while with new ball Hazlewood 'll get it moving of the track. MS has to come early & hit a 100, if any chance for IND. Even 240/2 after 40, means 90 of last 10 with ball reversing. Besides, IND fielding made target 329 from 319, AUS fielding 'll make it like 349............

I agree , I think this is what is missing in the Indian bowling - ruthless bowler who just doesnt give the breathing room to tail enders - You cant have sloggers like Johnson and Faulker score 40-50 against you in such a big match - those guys should be picked up and thats what we are missing in bowling
 
Jadeja needs to be dropped. Mohit only good for subcontinent pitches for run control in the middle overs.

India definitely have the ability to chase this. The start will be vital, they can't tuk tuk. That's what Australia expect and they're excellent at strangling teams, like a big boa constrictor. What you logically have to do then, is fight back against the strangling and go on the attack.
 
I was going to stay away from all news until I got a chance to watch this but couldn't resist. Woke up to check the score...7/328 I'm pretty satisfied. I don't know how they played but looking at the scoreboard looked like a bit of a collapse. Sparked by Maxwell it looks like who came in ahead of Clarke? I reckon they must have got a bit greedy with 1 wicket down and decided to go for a really big score and then got pulled back. 35th over is too early for Maxwell to come in IMO.

But still a decent score. If we bowl well we should be able to defend it. Looking at scoreboard looks like the quicks went for plenty and the spinners kept the rate down. Doesn't bode well for us with no specialist spinner though I'm sure the Indians would have destroyed Doherty.

Jaddu at least contributes in the fielding and can at least score 10 runs with his wild slogs.

What does Mohit do if he fails with the ball? For God's sake the man is nothing special as a bowler. He does not have good pace, nor he can get awkward bounce. He is your typical Mnaf Patel, Vinay Kumar types.

India cannot afford to have Mohit as he lengthens our pathetic tail even more.

I mean he did his job early but didn't do anything beyond that and when Smith got out he needed to stay in- but he didn't and we had two new batsman at the start of the last ten overs.

And most of Finch's centuries are played like that. He normally takes a while to bat himself in.
 
I think its over for India barring a couple of miracle innings from Rohit or Kohli or Dhawan.

We will be 30/3 in 6 overs and that will be the end of it.

NZ had McCullum to rapidly bring down the RRR. Will be interesting to see who does that for India. If there is any line-up capable of chasing this down, its India's.

I think India needs to stick to their game plan ... dont try to go Mc Cullum on them . Take it in blocks - If India scores 100 in the first 20 overs with max 2 wickets down - thats a good start.

Today India is going to be obliterate by starc, johnson and hazlewood. It is not even a contest!
 
Mohit's best asset is that he plays for CSK, however not sure why today was given the 10th over.

328 cannot be chased with just 6 front-line batsmen with "zero" alrounders :(
The team selection mistakes are again visible (which was evident in the start of the tournament). Just that Indian Team played out of their skins with the available team composition. No hitters after No.6, has to be India's worst late order in the recent past. India has to somehow go back to their old days of playing an extra batsman at No.7 to strengthen their batting. The bowling is anyhow going to leak runs against quality batsmen! This line-up holds good only in Indian Sub-continent (even there you don't need a 3rd seamer really)

we don't need bmac type of blazing because indian's strategy is different. we will just make 45-50 runs around 1st 10 overs and rest, we will just milk.

How does Hazlewood feed on Johnson's spells when Hazlewood takes his wicket with the new ball and Johnson bowls first change?
