2015 World Cup Result | India beat West Indies by 4 wickets in a low scoring game

I agree with you in tests.
However in ODi's teams are more dependent on conditions except for us. In Asia India will wipe the flaw against everyone. We might come 2nd which shows our versatility.
In quick conditions we are on par with Australia, the difference is they bat deep. However batting deep does not necessitate superiority. Our top order is better than theirs while they have a better lower order than us.
We have a 7-4 side now with JP to come @7 it remains to be seen how that affects the ballance of the side against the apex teams as our bowling is slightly weakened but our batting significantly strengthened.

On flat Indians wickets, Aus was giving competition to Indians. So Aus can do well on those conditions as well. If it's on turners/swing then I think they won't do well but we don't get those in ODI often.

I mainly rate Aus higher due to long batting line up and ability to bounce back despite losing few early wickets.

lol AB trolling?

West Indies go find yourselves a bridge and jump yere!

Let's give them a chance. Remember how South Africa recovered ftom a similar hiding and started thrashing minnows?

WI will also come out of this schooling like SA did.

Lol, not much action going on on the cricket front

OZGOD you've seen a lot of WC's in your time. Where would you rate this?

Probably the best one I saw was 2003. This one has been more of a runfest than most. If you looked at avg runs per innings scored by the winning team this one will probably come out on top. Not just because of the wickets but because of changes to fielding restrictions, bigger bats, smaller boundaries, batsmen who are more willing to attack, batting lineups that bat down to 9 or 10 now. But keep in mind most WCs have mismatches like this in the pool rounds. There were a lot of high scores in the WI in 2007 as well. What's happened is that the disparity between the top 3-4 and the rest have gotten bigger during that time.

Why wouldn't he be? He's a Saffer they are huge on rugby like you guys.

Another easy win for indians and it means they will definitely finish top in their group. I don't see ireland or zimbabwe will be creating a competition for indians. In a way it is good for Pakistan, which means run rate for west indies in points table will take a beating .

I would wait for the Indian batting though. I remember a match in 1992 tri series. India all out for 126 and then WI all out for 126 at WACA. It was a tie

Yes that is quite likely. After all west indies have bowlers equally capable to Walsh, Ambrose etc.

Pakistan has been woeful in the recent past but that 1-4 was shocking.

Yah, I went to grab food and saw the score after eating. I thought the runs and wickets were in reverse and then saw the two batsmen out there.

Well.. India don't have Kapil Dev either in this game. The Gabba game against England in the tri series before the world cup was painful for India. 170+ would be a tricky score

Yes you are right that possibilities like that can occur but indian team is peaking at the right time, all those losses in tri series are now a blessing in disguise for them. I don't see windies winning, even if there is quick fall of wickets when indians bat they will still cross over the line.

Good partnership developing here. These two needs to bat till the 45th over.

West Indies have been real lucky this match. Even then they are 8 down for 130.

:)))

Yeah. I thought man Pakistan lost an early wicket again. Then I was like :O

So complaint remains! Indian batsmen are not tested to chase down 300+ or even 200+ in Australia so far! Hence Indian bowlers should have deliberately allowed West Indies to score some runs and continued to wear that "Trundler Brigade" tag :)

Scoreboard pressure.
Chasing 300 is never easy. The invisible noose around our throats didn't help us much either.

I don't think that many 300+ scores are going to be chased in this WC.

Why couldn't the superstars bundle out hacks for less than 300? And why can't a superstar famous for his beard score under pressure? Hmm

Excellent bowling by shami, his fastest ball has been 145 kph. Taking good advantage of perth's fast and bouncy surface.

And i was questioning Dhoni's move to bring back Shami, who only had 4 overs left..
Good wicket.

LOL...That reaction.:))) .He's trying to threaten Shami with those scary looks.
Maybe saying 'Be ready fella,I'm not gonna let you sleep tonight'

qx3PQ7P.gif

Yeah.. That was hilarious really.
Thanks a ton for the gif. This is a collectible.

Can you trim it down further? Starting just from when Shami's head is seen bobbing from behind to the end of the gif you created?

If you guys stop finding excuses and actually do something on field...you may actually win something in Cricket.

West Indies is about to surpass what Saffas scored against our trundlers. :))

Lol at tri series, Binny was bowling full overs when Shami etc where sitting out. Yeah, we were taking them very seriously.

Shami's workload ha been quite steep given that he has just come out of an.injury.

Long way to go for him bro.Kapil ,Zac,Srinath were consistent in 2 formats.

Srinath was a mediocre bowler even though he carried the indian bowling in 90s and early 2000s but he was not genuinely quick. His pace hovered around 125-130s max and not much swing or seam movement. If you have that pace ( 125-130s) and you bowl constantly in corridor of uncertainty with brilliant seam movement like glenn mcgrath and Mohammed asif then it's fine but if you have no quality then this pace is disadvantage.

Zaheer khan was decent bowler and he became a good death bowler but again he was max 135-140 kph bowler and overall i would say he was decent bowler not a match winning one.

Irfan parhan was a good prospect but he lost pace and swing and turned into a slow spinner !

Shami is turning out to be fastest indian bowler ever and a very good one.

Let's get to 200. Holder should bat higher.

He was a quicker and better version of Wahab. I agree that Shami may beat him eventually, but you know nothing about SriNath.
