2nd Test, St Lucia: West Indies v India - score updates and discussion thread

I don't understand why WI insist on playing Bradshaw.

No matter how many runs he went for in the last game, Dave M has some potential. He should be playing.

guys played 3 tests in diff 3 countries. imagine playing 8/9 tests and just 1 in each country. :))

guys u missed a good first half of argentina and Ivory, 2-0 to Argentina

wats happenin here?

score pls? whats sehwag on btw?

India 300/3

shewag gone c & b for 180

collins again strikes.

unlucky shavedwig!

must have played a beauty of an innings!

Shewag is out then I gather........can't actually get to the TV thanks to an army of uncles showing up at my house to meet my Dad (and then insisting they sit in front of the TV and not in the area we normally take the guests)

Now I suppose India will get another 2 or 3 runs before close.

ah such bitterness! but it is understandable, this man did end saqlain mustaq's test career rather prematurely, and had it not been for a victory in the bangalore test, you could have said the same for mohammed sami...

whats the record for most runs scored in a single day's play? my guess is 400 set by the aussies against india at adelaide... incidentally in the same test the went on to lose!

I'm not bitter about a team we just tonked by 341 runs after being 39 for 6!

Let me assure you.....there is NOTHING for me to feel bitter about.

But if you want to believe that then go on believing it :)))

Not really. Saqi had been struggling for a couple of years and has had injuries since.

Sehwag may have been a bit of help but Saqi was well on his way anyway.

And he made way for Kaneria, a better bowler. A good thing.

Ditto Sami. He's struggled against everyone.

But if that 'helped' in Sami getting dropped for Asif against India, I have no issues ;)

Argument? It is not an argument fella. All I am doing is stating some facts........and also that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for me to feel bitter about when it comes to Indian cricket.

Indian cricket :))) :))) :)))

Troll Alert Troll Alert :16:

Current partnership 6 runs, 5.2 overs, rr: 1.12 (Dravid 3, Yuvraj Singh 2)
:))) :))) :)))

India have scored a mighty 1 run from the last five overs.

Unbelievable going considering they are 306 for 4 on the 1st day and fighting to save this match!

i think they are missing a ploy here... attack the west indies bowling and forces them on the backfoot. go on the defensive and the pie tossers look like formidable bowlers!

well good to see that dravid finally has resumed run making...

anyways, i am still waiting on that query... whats the most runs made by a team in a single day's play? (as i said earlier, i m guessing its 400 made by australia vs india at adelaide in 2003-2004 series)

India 317/4

all 4 for collins, hopefully a collapse now.

I think South Africa against Pakistan in 2002/3. They scored 450 :6:

i think that would be the record then. was that when gibbs got that 200 in double quick time?

and just to carry the sequence of questions... whats the highest inning runrate recorded by a team?

Thats the game

Over a period of how long? You'd get an rpo of 7 but only 10-15 overs or over 5 but over a longer period.

nah i mean the entire innings. maybe some restrictions are due... say a minimum of a 25 (or 50) overs.

Day 2 has started.

Dravid is on 97, he's been out in the 90's 9 times!

363-4

New ball taken, Taylor and Colleymore to share it.

Dravid still on 97.

416-4

Dravid, magnificent ton, *119(195). Kaif scoring runs as well, unbeaten on 48.

113.5 Sarwan to Dravid, OUT, Sarwan picks up a wicket, a long hop and too wide outside the off stump, Dravid thinking of putting it away to the fence, chases it and cuts, gets the bottom off the bat, the ball goes in the air, Lara moves a few feet to his left at backward-point and takes the catch.

THAT has to be the worst ball ever in test cricket and the worst shot ever. Siva seems to agree with me, as well.

Kaif, nearing a century, as well.

485-5 | lunch

dhoni 7 from 32 balls

I see he is killing them...no not the WI bowlers, I am talking about Dravid and Greg Chappal :P

On a serioud note, if I was Dravid, I would declare right now and let my bowlers have a go at WI...off course, being defensive minded as they were in the first test, they will never do it and then at the end wish "If only we had a few more overs to get WI out"

The groundsman are ready to bring the covers onto the ground., They are waiting for the rain to arrive. The umpires have a chat, offer the light to the batsman and surprisingly, they have accepted it! and off they go. Its not raining right now ..

Players are actually of for bad light, congrats to Kaif for a very good maiden test hundred.

India 517/6

dhoni gone to bradshaw for 9.

fake pathan in now...

Superb innings to say the least from Dhoni.

9 (34)

A team batting first, at 546/6 must be feeling confident enough to go for some quick runs...no not India janaab!

Batsmen R B 4s 6s SR
IK Pathan (lhb) 14 42 1 0 33.33 striker
M Kaif (rhb) 126 203 11 0 62.06 non-striker

I think these two must think they get a run for every tapped ball ala Gavaskar's 1975 WC heroics

Gayle getting away with murder here. Check out his figures:

Code:
0 M R W
16-6-37-0

Pathan, playing slowly, gets exactly what he deserves!

Gayle to Pathan, out Caught by Ganga!! tossed up delivery outside off, Pathan gets on frontfoot, pushes it in the air and a simple catch for Ganga, his second one in a row! I Pathan c D Ganga b C Gayle 19(52) 4s-2 6s-0

Strike rate: 36.54 with India looking to attack. :)))

this is just wrong... if kaif gets a hundred and that too a 150, its just wrong. i hope we can get a result from this damnation.

finally... i really wanna see how the west indians perform. a good psychological ploy might have been to score some quick runs, even if for one maybe two overs and then declare. it puts the fielding team on the defencive and a bit unsure.

W.I 14/0

munaf getting some inswing back into gayle with new ball.

Ganga slashes ball past 3rd slip for 4

few ballas later ganga slashes ball inbtwn 2nd and 3rd slip as they stand and watch.

22/0

damn West Indies is in danger Lara and Gayle have to play a big inning in order to save this match. :59: :59: Please save this match.

Lara's record against india is pathetic...don think he as ever scored wen it matters agianst us!
