must be a very poor pitch.

one of those things that get us excited about the strenght of our bowling etc - but in reality the game is a bit of a lottery.

still the boys must have put the ball in the right areas to take the wickets.

latest --> Pakistan A 71/5 (21.3 ov)

riaz afridi gone

9 runs to win now

Tell me AJ - looking at this team ( Pak A) - how many as a percentage should be in the First X1 in say next 2 years ?

i think 6 players could make into the pakistan squad.

amir bashir - could be given a chance as an opening bat very soon

s nazir - good swing bowler

yasir arafat - could be in odi squad soon

misbah-ul-haq - should be looked at for ODIS

riaz afridi - keeps knocking on the door

hasan raza - should be in test side

Wow Yasir !!!

He has been very impressive in this triangular series!!
I remember him taking the most wickets for us in the warm up and the macth vs Sri Lanka A.

And he is an all rounder as well !!

Should they be in the squad for WI series ?

I will pick Shahid Nazir and Hasan Raza for sure. Hasan is good player of spin.

Aamir Bashir Im afraid he is getting on a bit. We need player who can serve us for next 6 to 7 years or even more.

Misbah has few more years left in him. Again it will be a short term policy to bring him in.

Yasir yes I would definitely give him a chance in ODIs.

So only three players.

MIG, for west indies id have -

in test sqaud id have - amir bashir, s nazir & hasan raza

yasir arafat & misbah-ul-haq & s nazir in odi sqaud

I agree.........bring Yasir Arafat over to India for the one day series

I wonder what the wicket was like...

But still, 79 all out is a very poor effort.

Whatever happens in the rest of this tournament, this tour to UAE and Sri Lanka has been a success for England A. The likes of Prior, Bell and Shah have confirmed our batting depth and Lewis and Mahmood have taken some wickets.

Now, I am looking forward to us playing your A side on a decent track... ;-)

we had to bat on the same track as well!

we slaughtered you mate! ;-)

just imagine playing on a green seamer in england...!

england A wud have been out for 25!

lol!

Yep, you absolutely hammered us.

Just seen a report on the ECB website that says England A couldn't cope with the "accuracy" of Yasir Arafat.

Wow there is always somone new. How do pakistan keep finding these players lol It just shows the amount of talent pakistan has that they don't use properly.

I saw him play for Scotland last year in the National Cricket League and he looked pretty ordinary.

Actually, a lot of people have said that - so good to see some transformation here - bodes well for Pak future .

-------> England 'A' Well Beaten

England A were well beaten by their Pakistan counterparts on Wednesday after collapsing to 79 all out in Colombo.

They lost by five wickets to give Pakistan their second successive win in the triangular series which also features host nation Sri Lanka.

The England second string stand second in the table at present, having beaten Sri Lanka in their opening game.

But little of the resilience which helped England to Monday's victory over the Sri Lankans was on show in this game.

Opener Vikram Solanki top-scored with 15 as England batted out just 23.4 of their allocated 50 overs in the one-day match.

For Pakistan, 23-year-old medium-pacer Yasir Arafat claimed bowling figures of six for 24 from nine overs.

Despite reaching 30 without loss, England's innings crumbled disastrously with only three players reaching double figures.

Matthew Prior contributed 14 and Ian Bell 11, but none of the England batsmen impressed.

A mid-innings collapse saw five wickets fall for the addition of just two runs, the team going from 63 for three to 65 for eight.

England at least gave Pakistan some cause for concern by making inroads into their battling line-up.

At one stage, Pakistan were 32 for four, but their middle order did not collapse in the saw way as England's had, with the loss of only one further wicket as Pakistan reached their victory target in 23.2 overs.

Riaz Afridi had become the top run-scorer in the match with 20, before he became the third victim for England's Lancashire paceman Sajid Mahmood, who claimed figures of three for 34.

Misbah-ul-Haq finished on 19 not out as Pakistan eventually coasted to victory.

Sajjid Mahmood- another pak bowling for england??

i guess bowling is just in our blood.

he is amir khans cousin the boxer that is

sajid mahmood is supposed to be a very good upcoming fast bowling prospect.

Pakistan did well to bowl England out for 80 but the Pakistani batting wasnt too convincing either. We didnt cruise to 80 runs we collapsed to 80 runs!!

Must have been a dodgy pitch.

I wonder how well he bowls cuz if he is half decent why not pick him instead of talunted Hafeez, though he does look overweight.

That is an understatement of the Nth degree...In my opinion "A hippo would feel like a Deer, if it comes across this Desi Gainda from Pakistan" :?d

BTW, Muddy, Shahid Nazir is not overweight at all...his face looks a little heavier but I don't remember seeing any extra fat on his body, unlike *****, when he bowled in a domestic game last month

everytime pakistan A play misbah ul haq(pakistani graham hick) always seems to look most comfortable in enviroment and always seems to score runs... hes wasted his chance at test level, but cud play in the odi team still.

Pakistan A team has always been so impressive. They come out with vicoties all over the place. Anyone remember the practice match against India in Lahore last year...i believe u can watch that match on Pakistanimedia.com

amazing match!

Yes one of those Sri Lanka specials where the ball seams around a lot.

It was actually a used wicket. the same wicket that was used for England "A" v sri lanka "A" 4day game ian bell thought batting 1st would be easy and that pitch would turn loads and get uneven... but pakistan bowlers bowled very straight and took every chance that came... it wasnt a seamers paradise as sum have made out!

True, but then even Bazid looks good at A level - guess it means little (yesterday he was 39 not out of 30 balls when I checked). Wonder how much he got today. Would be better of returning to Pakistan and burying his head in some textbooks in my opinion.

Hassan Raza is one guy who should perhaps stick to some cricket for a while - not great against pace, but a patient milker of spin and the medium stuff.

And Faisal is quite good against spin - agressive and bold. I think in terms of horses for courses he might have been a decent selection for the Indian tour (but luckily Kamal is making number 6 his own)
