Armies are made of people and they are bound to suffer from PTSD and depression. Its part of the profession they chose. No army is immune to this.
Palestinians are not completely defenseless. They have Hamas and Hezbollah on their side. It is just that Israel army is much more powerful and organized. If they had the power, Hamas and Hezbollah would wipeout Israelis from this Earth. They are just scared of Israel's army and their weapons.

300-400 people commit suicide a year in Israel ...the rate is lower than a lot of other countries overall yet that number is significantly larger than what you have cherrypicked from that article...a third of deaths Is just sensationalist language ...

So out of all army personnel a grand total of 9 committed suicide...The US figure for instance is 139...

Israel is a tribe of people long before it became a modern nation state with a government and borders only 70 odd years ago; no Palestinian has ever said they want to wipe out all Jews and the Israelite tribe at all, all they've talked about is ending the occupation and returning all of the lands back to the Palestinians who it always belonged to, the Israelite tribe can continue to exist as Jewish citizens of Palestine just like they lived as a Jewish citizens in Palestine during Ottoman rule when they were generously welcomed as immigrants.

Many Israelis aren't religious- Jews are an ethnic group so there are many irreligious Jews. So the 'chosen people' thing may not apply to many of them. I have no doubt that many of them are against their oppressive regime. It's a tough one, but 'just following orders' isn't a good enough excuse for killing innocents. One of the greatest human rights violations of our time, and I really don't see an end in sight, which is a huge shame.
