Aamer Yamin in Test cricket?

Amir Yamin in test cricket - any takers? 35 bat avg, 25 bowl in first class cricket. I think if you have three quality seamers, maybe with the fourth seamer in a weak batting line up, go for the best batsman (Yamin?) instead of the best bowler (Faheeem)?

They seem to have gone with faheem of the 2.
I would rather have the better bowler at 8.
Faheem batting will be ok too once he gets used to it. He should be coming in after tea to take on the old ball and tired bowlers. Today shouldn't be what we judge faheem on

He started off really really well in the QEA trophy last year, was doing amazing with bat and ball and I said there and then he should be in the Test squad to tour England. However, in the 2nd part of the domestic season, his form fell away badly, not sure what happened. Hopefully it was just a blip and he goes back to his best in the next season but I just have some bad feeling about this drop of form, maybe he's lost confidence or something the way Pakistan have treated him, hopefully I'm proved wrong and he is back in the Pakistan team soon.

Anyway, don't think we are missing him that badly as Faheem Ashraf is doing a pretty good job.

Aamer yamin should be played in limited overs , he , faheem , and Shadab can be best possible 7 , 8 , 9 .

In tests amad butt is the best choice though I do like both fahim and amir Yamin. Amad is a better bowler then both of them and a decent bat too. Got a good technique.

just thinking - since Faheem is doing a decent job as a third seamer, what about playing them both in seaming conditions?

I am normally all for new players and giving them a chance but whenever I see this guy bowl, I want to bring back the likes of Anwar and Bhatti. For those who support him, please explain to me what it is about this guy that makes them want to include him in the side. Don't merely state stats because we all know Pakistan domestic stats do not hold much value.

I don't see much in him either, but he only got to play 2 games in that New Zealand tour and surprisingly he was superb in both games.

He played better than Fahim did in his 8 games.

Yes, he seemed a decent batsman for an all-rounder; however, his bowling was mediocre and averaged around 130 kph IIRC. If he has a case, it's to play as a specialist batsman and I don't think he is at that level, at least not yet.

I never said he is close to the team he has potential and not a finished product his bowling his better then all the all rounders for tests matches.

For me, I would have him ahead of Faheem. Mainly because Aamir is a capable batsman, solid in the field and a good bowler. For me he is someone that can come in at No.7 for us.

Finally he's back in some form! Hope this can kickstart his season as he has done nothing special so far this year.

I don't see him getting a recall at international level. He should have got a longer run in the side when originally selected. Management selecting him at 7 or 8 when he should be batting higher in the line up if selected.
