After a long wait of more than 2 years finally Pakistan have won a bilateral T20I series, something to celebrate or ponder over?

First of all congratulations to team Pakistan for winning the T20I series against Ireland and breaking the losing jinx but to those who don't know it has come after a long period of 2.5 years. The last time Pakistan won a bilateral T20 series it was back in 2021 and against West Indies.

Since then Pakistan have tried out 3 different captains, and endured 13 defeats out of 22 matches 😔

After a loss in the first match against Ireland, we finally turned the tables for ourselves but we should know that Ireland captain Paul Stirling deliberately benched himself to try out youngsters in his team for the upcoming T20 WC 2024.

So the big question is this series win something something worthy to celebrate or ponder over?

Mubarakaan to all the bros.

We are looking closer to a world cup winning side day by day.

We have humbled one of our group opponents today.
They were missing 4 first teamers btw. Who was Pakistan missing?

We haven't won Jack in 3 years since these clowns showed up 😭😭.

Mubarak on beating B string Ireland 😴
Tbh I don’t understand why Ireland decided to experiment in the last game?

They should have done that in the first two games.

Then again, they lost the toss twice and had to bat first. Personally I can’t see much progress made by Pakistan here besides maybe they have a much more confident Azam Khan going forward

Who cares?

Whoever they put forward would have got smashed.

All the batters are finding prime form. It's a good sign.

Ireland is basically England so it's a big win in overseas conditions.

Because every team understands on wanting to test bench strength.

Ireland atleast wants to go for a super 8 stage and not a group exit so they want to test their bench. Even their mentality is better then us.

Their commentators said the game in the World Cup will be much more even matched

That was a massive insult
I'm aware. Also no it was an insult to Ireland, not to babar and his begharat tribe.

Come England you'll hear the words : We lost today because England attacked us. We were expecting them to be our friends in the dugout? Yes kya baat hoi?

Confidence booster for Babar Azam , 4 vital games against the mighty England hopefully they will turn a leaf over

Atleast our worst fears didn't come true. If this had been a series loss then a world cup group stage exit was on the cards.

The England series will decide what level this team is at.

I can see some positives, top order is looking more settled. Fakhar at 4 is helping the middle over RR. Azam Khan and Iftikhar lower order power hitters? Maybe. Naseem/Amir/Afridi/Abbas quartet looks like it could develop if they find form. But they need to be tested by quality opposition.

If we get hammered in England then its lights out for the WC but if we can match or beat its looking like it's on.

They should've won it 3-0 but the real test will be against England in their next series. There are still lots of improvement to be done to be able to have any chance of going deep into the upcoming T20 World Cup.

King Babar tried his best to maintain his stellar record of series defeats as he included Hasan KingKarlega Ali in the playing 11. But we managed to break consistency and win a series against an associate nation for once. Up and upwards we go! :ba

P.S: Oh wait, the next series is against England. King might be back to continuing his record run of losses. :stokes

Draw against a Kiwi C team.

Win against an A team.

Babar has a positive win loss ratio overall now.

The trajectory is clear upwards.

Pakistan should have challenged themselves by batting first.

Yep congratulations to Pakistan on beating mighty Irish team... Now England be scared be very scared
England had just one Irish captain and they changed the way white ball cricket is played.

We've just smashed 11 Irish in their own backyard.

They will be scared for sure.

I think winning against Ireland is not something fans cherish. If they win the series against England, then fans' spirits will definitely be high.
True. But there were some positives and some negatives.
Positives
1. Pakistan chased down some decent totals quite easily. That is always good.
2. Rizwan showed a lot of intent in the PPs. Pakistan needs to improve on this. Every player needs to bat at a higher strike rate when they start their innings. We have too many slow starters in our lineup.
3.Some nice hitting from Azam Khan. Irrespective of what most fans think, he is going to be in the WC squad, and this outing should boost his confidence.
Negatives
1. Saim Ayub isnt replicating what he did in the PSL. He keeps getting out in the same fashion. It’s not a good omen.
2. Bowling is an issue. Seems like our bowlers are not good enough to challenge good batting lineups.
3. Bench strength is nonexistent.
4. Abram wasn’t given a chance. That’s a strategic blunder.
5.Fitness is still an issue.

Pakistan should have challenged themselves by batting first.
Well no body challenges itself these days, for instance in upcoming WC 2024 India would themselves opt to bat second against Pakistan no matter what the conditions.

There is nothing to be happy about. Winning a series against a team like Ireland and that too by a 2-1 margin is no victory. It is a thing to be worried about. You lost a game against Ireland, why happy at the series win?

Ireland nearly did a clean sweep in the first two matches.

Instead of celebrating, we should be ashamed of our performance.

no wonder we’re so useless. Mediocre mindset.

Congratulations on a great series win!! This was a tough series and the boys showed they have the heart to come back and put it across the great rivals. Babar and SSA performed when it really mattered and this bodes well for the future games versus USA and Nepal. When the going gets tough the tough get going.

Many hearty congratulations . PAK should play T20 series more often with NED/IRE/ZIM for the boys to get some confidence after winning a few series.

Have to agree with you. Playing gritted teeth with a full strength XI vs minnows and then celebrating it shows that’s your level

We are a mediocre side, beating Ireland is an achievement for us. @Markhor its that time again.

Hopefully we won't stumble there as players are getting in form. But still we need to win India clash anyway for proper security and morale boosting.

What a fall, from having legendary players such as the the 2 W’s, Imran, Miandad to the current crop of clowns who are celebrating an Ireland win 🤪 🤦‍♂️ ffs!
Atleast you guys are celebrating series win. ON social media they celebrate the milestones of Babar and Rizwan

And we were celebrating the win against them

Time to get the dhol out and rose petals, guard of honour needed for Babar and Riswan, this is their greatest moment since their wedding day. Heck, just call this a second wedding and get them two married at the same time, plenty of cake to go around for everyone, we can call Blessed Misbah Ul Haq to hold both their hands when they cut a very special slice. Mubarak all.

USA just defeated Bangladesh in a series now, so the big question is after Ireland has USA become a threat too for us? Not to forget India in the group stage.

Wow full strength Bangladesh team has lost to USA. Tells a lot about the T20 format and how bad Bangladesh have become. Anyone can defeat anyone in this format, no one is safe. South African team also has a bunch of unknown players thrown together at least from what I can see against West Indies. Not sure how this WC is going to go but we are going to get quite a few surprise results.

Why shouldn’t it be allowed?

It's an international match not an IPL match, they have to be natives.

I think ICC has been taken over by Indians and they are scamming cricket. When ICC was run by SENA we had limited amount of teams but the players were mostly natives.

Now we have Hong Kong, UAE and USA full of Indians and Pakistanis, absolute joke. This as bad as age fudging. Now we have nationality fudging :ROFLMAO:

USA is full of immigrants and you see immigrants in all areas of life, so why shouldn’t they be allowed in cricket? Cricket is already an alien sport for the locals, so USA need desis to promote it anyway.

Pakistan has been threatened by every other team in the past. Ireland and Zimbabwe gave nightmares to Pakistan in the world cup event and now another team is rising that can challenge them. USA can be a dangerous side because they have nothing to lose, really.

USA team is filled with b string superstars which makes them significantly stronger then Ireland and C team NZ(Excluding chapman), All these players are > Tim Robinson etc etc

If these are the types of surfaces on offer we will smash most sides.

This is america, not Pakistan. It's a country of immigrants, the only natives are the red indians.

You are misinformed. UAE participated in the World Cup as early as 1996. Hong Kong made their ODI debut in the 2004 Asia Cup, and they had been competing in qualifying tournaments even before that. USA played in the Champions Trophy in 2004. These teams have consistently included players from the Subcontinent in their lineups.

Saurabh Netravalkar shifted to the US for higher studies and previously represented India in the Under-19 World Cup in 2010. He has been employed at Oracle for quite some time. If he wishes to continue playing cricket, which he clearly loves, what is wrong with that?
