Curtain for him , very shaky concentration. Needs to do yoga to improve.

lack of adjusting.... which is bad in swing or any moving ball.
I know he is talented, but he is brought at wrong time to the team, he is out of ODI team since 2011 and in Recent One day and 4 Day Domestic Competitions has not score enough runs to justify the place .. he should not have been included .. when he will b in form at domestic , draft him in then he will perform infact thats how every one will perform
Khurram, Azhar Ali and Sharjeel need to b looked at
Because he premeditates and goes to hard at the ball
exactly... even in the flattest of decks there will be one or two ball swinging.. like today. that was the only swinging ball and he got out to it. he should watch where the ball is going and then hit it. this is a massive flaw in his technique.
Massive massive flaw.
Somebody needs to highlight it to him.
I doubt anyone even notices.
I bet they just tell him "slow down"... "play your self in".... "a few more dot balls"
Yes its not about play yourself in or few more dots.. he can play a hundred balls but what is weak in his technique will stay weak unless he properly sees his mistake and changes it. these tours are meant to show and highlight your weaknesses and then you ractify them. how he improves his game is upto him.
If he has a mind then by now he should be very self aware of his flaws and should be thinking of how to improve them.
Exactly. My worry is that he wont see the fault.
o'really? why would you doubt that the coach and captain not know about this fault?. i doubt whatmore or msibah knows about this fault. .

havent seen improvements. which leads to believe he himself doesnt know about this flaw. what do you think?
this is where batting coaches are missed. i doubt whatmore or msibah knows about this fault. on top of it all the more failures he piles up the more low his confidence will become and soon he will be dropped never to be seen again. hope he works on this.

No one knows. ...
We can only guess ,
Players left to fend for themselves
to me its down to if the player listening to what the coaching staff is saying.
true....and what we guess depends on our biases
For some reason I've been watching Shehzad closer than some of your other bats since I just keep getting bored (read: sleepy) as the night wears on in these Windies games, in terms of IST.
I think the equation's pretty simple, he needs a score in the final outing. Otherwise it's the end of his career for the next year at least. Yeah sure you can argue that he should be given the Zimbabwe tour as well to cement an opinion of him but knowing the Pakistani selection track record I wouldn't hedge my bets on it. Already, the sentiment against him is growing and I'm reading about a certain Sharjeel Khan who is next in line to replace Shehzad as an opening bat.
Of course, why Shehzad (or Farhat or Hafeez or their ilk) don't improve through the domestic stuff is a larger issue with your cricket.
we have a bowling coach but not a batting coach that knows such flaws and how to ractify them. this is a major requirement.
he needs to pick up his game
So the conclusion: he is not 'next big thing' as some claimed...?

Not unless he works on this swing flaw.... how did he score those centuries outside SC if he has such bad footing?
sub-continent against a side
I think he is thinking too much in his mind, in the last game he should calm down and try to set in he was a bit unlucky in 3rd ODi when roach took that spectacular catch......
Very similar player to Hafeez. Will always be dodgy in the channel outside his off stump. Will be a good player against the short stuff, but dun by the ball just outside off stump.
If I was his domestic coach, I'd get him on the bowling matching and make him face a thousand deliveries in the channel outside off every day until he could middle every one if them. He's half a batsman at the moment.
I don't know why folks call him 'aggressive' when his SR is languishing in the 60s.
No IMO.Shezza has been better today.
Ball hasnt swung so its been easier given his technique.
Done enough for another series?

Good analysis. Playing with softer hands today and he's looked pretty compact.Shahzads problem is more basic than Hafeez's.He premeditates and flashes to hard so there is no time to play quality late movement. With a technical adjustment he may improve.
Hafeez just doesnt have the hand eye coordination as he has had 120 games to learn against international bowling.
He has been all at sea against the only quality bowler on show today.
Him scoring runs against Zimbabwe won't be much different than Farhat, Hafeez or Malik scoring against them.
For me Shehzad is a TTF.
He has poor shot selection, his technique is poor and is mentally fragile. I don't see him a batsman who would take his average past 30. At the most around 32-33 and his SR would continue to languish below 75.
I will really miss his fielding though.

Wouldn't mind him playing like this all the time to be honest. Once he's settled into international cricket I'm sure the big shots would come naturally.

There's something very annoying about this guy. The look on his face, the way he tries to sidle up to other players from the opposition (like with Gayle today). And most of all the fact that he wants to be Afridi while possessing the charisma and abilities of an Amit Mishra.

It's a normal thing to do for a youngster - come in and establish yourself before trying to blast international quality bowlers. It's interesting to see that... hopefully he continues that way.
I personally think he has done enough for another series at least.
Okay, how many more failed series and more failed comebacks (he has 3 already) would it take for you to be convinced that he is a TTF?
Well fine give him the SA and SL series as well in UAE. A matter of few months only.
If he continues to like this then maybe he'd be a certified TTF for everyone.
But for me, he is the new Farhat.
Wow, that's the exact description of Shezza's look alike, Virat Kohli.
Well Kohli was equally annoying (at least to me) in the first year of his cricket. He was then dropped on his butt and on his return sobered down by the presence of guys like Yuvi. He then went on to plunder runs over the next couple of years to make any further shenanigans on the field tolerable.
Nowadays he hardly gets in people's faces and limits himself to being expressive which is perfectly fine as far as I'm concerned.
He was worse than Shehzad at the same age, though. Shehzad will sober down too with time.

Also, a lot of his battles are in his head methinks. He seems to want too much, takes liberties.
The problem with Shehzad is that of an ok player with aspirations well beyond his abilities. When attitude is a coverup for limitations, it becomes a problem.
Surely there is no way you truly believe this guy can pull off a Kohli with the bat.
Good knock. Showed immense maturity.
