Alastair Cook has now become the most successful left-handed batsman in Test cricket history. He has completed his Test career scoring 12,472 runs moving past Kumar Sangakkara.

Good achievement. You don't know how good something is until it's gone. I have a feeling Cook will be missed for a while by England.

Has to be seen last 2 to 3 years he has veen very very average.

But overall ATG Eng bat and a very good opening batsman to average over 45 is some achievement.

His time however was up. Great call to retire.

Yes I think it's a good decision for him to retire but it will be difficult for England to replace him.
