Along with England, West Indies have the most entertaining top-order coming into the World Cup

Gayle, Lewis, Brave, Hope and Hetmyer. Not to mention the not too bad Russell and Holder along with Brathwaite and Nurse.

The problem for them might just be the bowling, but as a batting line-up they're, for me anyway, the most entertaining batting side coming into the WC along with the hosts.

This is what worries me.

If Pakistan don't pick up early wickets then this Windies top-order will just blow Pakistan away. 100/0 or 100/1 after 10 overs and the match is over.

Hit or miss team. Hope the wrong team turns up against Pakistan.

West Indies are being horribly underestimated on this forum.

Yeah I've noticed the usual green tinted hype brigade aren't giving WI the respect they deserve, while for some the reality is just hit them after seeing the scoreboard today.

I think they will be the dark horses in this tournament and will make the top 4 (there will be one surprise).

They just need one player, just one player to enjoy a grand WC - Sai Hope. If that guy can give stability with like 500 runs in 9 games, WIN will surprise many teams.

Lot of posters here are underestimating them but I think teams like BD,Pakistan,Afg should be worried..

WI don't play well in two matches in a row, so we will be OK on Friday. The team playing them in the following match should be worried.

Their bowling is not good enough to back up their batting. I doubt they will consistently out up big scores also. But they certainly are exciting.

On the contrary, WI has moved from underrated to overrated in this forum. A decent spin attack will stifle them and then watch the implosion.

Nope. But WI are most hyped side though.

People forgetting, This is ODI not T20

Totally agree. I was watching the WI vs NZ game yesterday and was wondering what they will do to us on Friday. They might just score 400 plus again and make it look like a joke. Our only hope is Amir. Let's see...

Pakistan's realistic hope is West Indies batting first and imploding to be all out for 150 to 200.

Pakistan batting first and getting its customary puny 290 and 300 runs is going to be hitting practice for chasing Windies side and we will lose in 40 to 45 overs.

The down side is anything over 350 batting first and Windies will win the game.

Always knew this tournament would be exciting. Pak and Bangla aside any of the top 8 teams can go pretty much toe to toe batting wise with only England being the clear cut best of the lot. Pakistan can turn up now and again depending on the right Fakhar firing and a Babar 100 with the others bashing around him.

I know most people on here are in the “I don’t enjoy high scores” camp but I have to respectfully disagree. I enjoy the high scores quite a bit and you need that sort of entertainment in a WCUP.

But it’s hilarious that there’s no halwa teams for us fans to bank on copping an easy win from lmao, every team is a threat.

Well, this top order have failed big time in WC. No planning at all.

West Indies are absolutely hopeless in this World Cup. If only we didn’t mess up so badly against them in the first game, we would be in good position to qualify for the SF. Now we need to win both of our remaining games and rely on England losing at least one.

West Indies have been thoroughly underwhelming and disappointing this tournament. From a neutral perspective, I was really looking forward to watching, what seemed to be on paper, a really dynamic batting lineup, with an abundance of young, exciting talent such as Hope, Lewis, Pooran and Hetmyer, mixed with the thrilling power-hitting of Gayle and Russell. Really disappointed to see how its panned out.

They played well in all matches except Ind/ Eng ones.

It's either blocking and bouandires. Also their bowling attack isnt threatening enough. Too predictable. They have potential no doubt. There younger players need more experience at international level. Also need to find a specialist spinner. Don't think this is West Indies of a few years ago. Think they will be a competitive team in all formats.

Shai Hope not performing throughout the WC hasn't helped WI at all. Expected more from Hetmyer and Pooran too.

We really did mess up against their bowling in the 1st game though
