So far the duo is doing great against Zimbabwe in the 2nd ODI, made 36 so far in 5.4 overs.

Saud should be a no 4 in odi. He's the best player of spin in pakistan and you want to utilise him in the middle. Also would add though I don’t think we should do it, but I think Saud if he opened would do better than those two right now. But of course Saud is more of a finished product and considerably older. The other two have probably more potential.
I think he should play at 4 too. That’s why I said I don’t think we should make him open. I think it was a massive mistake to drop him from odi team so early. Even though I don’t think he’s been fantastic there, with that sort of record you can’t argue that, but he showed massive amounts of potential and pretty much threw his wicket nearly every time after he got a start, he looked more comfortable early on in the crease than most of our other batsmen.Saud should be a no 4 in odi. Fakhar + Saim should open for aggressive starts.
As for saim, I wouldn't worry too much, when he first appeared in domestics he struggled for months before finding rhythm and dominating.
Then when he came into leagues, Same story and same story for international.
Takes him time to adjust to different levels. He's no jaiswal but he can probably he a rachin ravindra in the future who knows.
Saim ayub hit a 53 ball 100. Yes it was againat Zimbabwe however he's clearly improving as a batsmen, he replicated his good form againat Australia as well scoring 82 and 44 in their home den which is impressive.I think he should play at 4 too. Just think he if happened to open he would outperform Saim or Abdullah. I think he looks better at the crease early on, is comfortable and is used to piling in runs in domestic and tests. Though I think we shouldn’t do it as saud can and probably should play middle order. And I believe Saim and Abdullah are the future so it’s really great for Pakistan if either or both can cement their place on merit.
The future of Abdullah Shafique is he is developing a prolific poultry farm. His namesake Asad would be proud of him. The farming community are the main beneficariesWhat is the future of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique's partnership, as Abdullah Shafique completes a hat-trick of ducks in the ODI series against South Africa?
He doesnt belong in modern cricket just like Rizwan. Hes just unfairly occupying the deserved spot of Sahibzada Farhan. While Rizwan has dropped Kamran Ghulam who actually should be playing in his position. We have the right and capable players but our cricket is compromised.
Sahibzada can keep instead of Rizwan.Riz is a keeper-batter and shouldn’t play at 4.
His keeper-batter replacement, Haris, has been consistently poor.
Sahibzada can keep instead of Rizwan.
Farhan is a part time WK. He may do a job in a game in T20 but in One Day the misses, byes, leg byes, drops, etc would be too significant.Rashid Latif (not everybody’s favourite) said about this idea: ˋto select sahibzada as wk is an insult (toheen) of Pak wks’
Apparently Farhan has 6 t20 matches total when he has kept and he also refused to keep for IU in last PSL.
All of this is according to Rashid Latif.
Exactly. So the question remains, who should be Riz’s keeper-batter replacement?Farhan is a part time WK. He may do a job in a game in T20 but in One Day the misses, byes, leg byes, drops, etc would be too significant.
Rashid latif is a paid tout of Saya group. I dont care about his opinion.Rashid Latif (not everybody’s favourite) said about this idea: ˋto select sahibzada as wk is an insult (toheen) of Pak wks’

His another replacement is Haseebullah Khan who has guess what been eliminated from the team as well.Exactly. So the question remains, who should be Riz’s keeper-batter replacement?
We have only 1 replacement to talk of really as far as I am aware and that guy, Haris, is hopeless. His lack of situational awareness is bad enough but the fact that most of his innings end within 10-15 balls makes him a poor contributor. Don’t think his keeping is legendary either.
Haseebullah isn't that great aswell. His another replacement is Haseebullah Khan who has guess what been eliminated from the team as well.
I learned today that Rizwan has the highest average at number 4 for Pak in ODIs.Riz is a keeper-batter and shouldn’t play at 4.
His keeper-batter replacement, Haris, has been consistently poor.
What's the strike rate ?I learned today that Rizwan has the highest average at number 4 for Pak in ODIs.
Who is obsessed with AbdullahAbdullah is a mediocre player. People need to get out of his obsession. If fakhar was injured, why did PCB not keep Farhan as his replacement? He does not have to keep wickets; he could have replaced Abdullah easily as an opener.
LOL... I hope no one is but I have seen some calling him a good player etc, earlier.. could not remember their name sadly.Who is obsessed with Abdullah![]()
Oh yeah the flagship batsmen thread lol.LOL... I hope no one is but I have seen some calling him a good player etc, earlier.. could not remember their name sadly.
HE is stylish,, that is it...Oh yeah the flagship batsmen thread lol.
Abdullah is a rubbish player. Also he doesn't have a good technique. Trying to look good on the camera =/= good technique.
Pure technique wise I'd argue it's Joe root who has the best technique. In terms of ability it depends on format with steve smith being the best in tests
Abdullah is rubbish with the backfoot, can't play a pull shot for the life of him, he gets into awkward positions when playing cross drives which makes him vulnerable to inswing. He is much better then Babar and Rizwan at reading and playing spin tbf but then why is he even opening? 10-15 overs of pace upfront lol.
FixedHE is rubbish,, that is it...
None. Rizwan is your best WK batter in ODIs and Tests.Exactly. So the question remains, who should be Riz’s keeper-batter replacement?

Problem is people are equating wicketkeeper and no 4 position as one and the same.None. Rizwan is your best WK batter in ODIs and Tests.
Haseebullah maybe able to replace him in ODIs. But he's nowhere in the PCB's picture right now.
Haris needs to play plenty of List A and FC and show that he can play long calm innings before he can thought to become regular in all formats. In T20Is, he's fine.
Rizwan should not bat at 4.None. Rizwan is your best WK batter in ODIs and Tests.

Where should he bat?Rizwan should not bat at 4.
Just because they are not from the 33 KPK players that can bang Pakistan doesnt mean they are the worst. The worst ever opening pair has never actually opened together. That would be Sharjeel & future captain Asif Ali.
Sharjeel and Khalid Latif gave us a small glimmer of hope as potential openers. Sadly they both regressed and became fixtures in the process too.The worst ever opening pair has never actually opened together. That would be Sharjeel & future captain Asif Ali.
@Rana Is a good poster bro.Players who are supported by @Rana are doomed
While I understand that everyone can make errors in judgement, I believe that sport is more about intelligence than aggression. Your buddy is proud of his choices, even when they might not be the best ones. Instead of accepting his mistakes, he tends to remind others of their choices, which unfortunately discourages meaningful conversations with him. This behaviour makes it difficult to address issues constructively and find common ground which is a shame really.@Rana Is a good poster bro.
He supports very aggressive players. However not all aggressive players will succeed in international cricket. That's a hard fact.
But players who play Misbah esc slow wont ever succeed. That's a 100% failure rate.
Babar Azam is 100% an exception but their are too versions.
A) The version under mickey
B) The version post mickey that we currently see on display who is a failure.
T20, Odi and tests are different.
5/6 you can't have Babar and rizwan batting at snails pace batting together.Where should he bat?
Mickey had another tenure in 2023 as well.@Rana Is a good poster bro.

Tbf mickey was brought on the eve of a cup when selections had already been made and he was mostly an online coach prior to joining the team in India physically.Mickey had another tenure in 2023 as well.
Doubt Mickey was the deciding factor.
Babar has simply, in his head, become too big to listen to anyone other than his father (who thinks he's a mr know it all)
