I don't think it is even a contest to begin with.
As soon as fixtures of a tournament are announced, the hype starts about getting the tickets for the match.
When the tickets are available, they are sold out in a few minutes.
Fans further hype the clash to the moon and look forward to settle past scores.
Media steps in and organizers come out
with flashy adverts.
Biggest Sporting Rivalry in the World. Arch Rivals bla bla bla.
Some fans are ready to use this occasion for displaying their political support for various movements.
But when the match day arrives, the India -Pakistan lately produces the most boring and one sided contests on offer these days. As if an Indian win over Pakistan is given.
People are happy over the win but nobody is celebrating like they used to 6-7 years ago. It's more like a formality that is done and nothing surprising or well earned.
On a personal front, today after a long time I organized for my whole family to watch
Cricket together because it is afterall India v/s Pakistan but they left midway during the match when Azhar-Hafeez were tuk tuking because according to them what's the point in watching further when the result is so obvious.
I don't think people enjoy watching a weak Pakistan getting bashed by Dominant India. The rivalry, if only based on political disturbances and history, is becoming shallow and need quality players in both sides to produce exciting contests.
