Arsenal FC | 2025/26 Season

GUYS, ENOUGH

STOP POSTING NONSENSE AND ABUSIVE STUFF..

WE DON'T WANNA SEE YOUR PERSONAL CHATS HERE...

Nice one mate, amazing recovery after a horrible start to the season for us; there was so much riding on how we did against you last weekend.
Going from 2 points from 4 games and zero goals, to 10 wins out of 11. You were also unlucky in that one game at anfield.

You should be aiming to get back in CL

As expected, Arsenal are near the top for most injuries. Our ‘squad depth’ allows for injuries to some of the attacking options but defensive deputies are not there yet. The drop off from Gabriel to Hinicapie is too significant, also effects our build up play and set pieces efficacy. Folks who have been watching Arsenal closely knew it was a matter of time our defensive stalwarts got injured.

'A really dangerous circle' - Arteta on Arsenal injuries

Mikel Arteta says Arsenal are caught in a "really dangerous circle" with injuries - but denied they are a result of overtraining.

Arsenal have suffered injuries to a number of key players throughout the season and will be without midfielder Declan Rice, defender William Saliba and forward Leandro Trossard for the match against Club Brugge in the league phase of the Champions League on Wednesday.

Trossard, who scored in the loss to Aston Villa at the weekend, only just returned from injury but was brought off before the end of the game despite only being introduced as a second-half substitute.

Arsenal are still without forward Kai Havertz and defenders Gabriel Magalhaes and Cristhian Mosquera, while striker Viktor Gyokeres is just returning from injury.

The Gunners have also made a change to their Champions League squad because of injury, with Gabriel Jesus, who has been out since January after cruciate ligament surgery, replacing 15-year-old Max Dowman - who picked up his injury playing for Arsenal Under-21s in a friendly against Manchester United on Saturday.

But when asked if overtraining was the cause of the problems, Arteta rejected the idea.

"No, because we don't train." Arteta said referring to the short turnaround between games at this point in the season before saying his side trained for "20 minutes" on Tuesday.

"We don't have time to train. So training is not there but obviously the fact that you are missing players, you are loading other players more [as] a consequence. It's a really dangerous circle that one."

Arsenal also had to deal with long-term injuries to Havertz and Bukayo Saka last season, while centre-back Gabriel missed an important couple of months at the end of the last campaign.

And Arteta said that alongside the Arsenal medical team he was always looking at the reasons for the injuries they suffer.

"Some of the players have played over 150 games in two seasons so it starts to get overloaded. You start to ask them again and again and again to do that [and] at some point they will break down," he said.

"It's something that we are constantly looking at. We have played a lot of games with a lot of players missing that puts a lot of stress and then more injuries but we are on it.

"I'm really happy what we're doing in terms of the medical stuff and everything that we are trying to bring together, but sometimes as well we need some things to go on our side."

Football's scheduling issue

The football calendar has been been a much-debated topic in recent months.

Arsenal and Crystal Palace have had matches moved by the Premier League later this month to ease fixture congestion.

Arsenal's trip to Everton and Palace's game at Leeds - both originally scheduled for 14:00 GMT on Sunday, 21 December - will now be played at 20:00 a day earlier.

The games were shifted as the two sides play each other in the EFL Cup quarter-final on 23 December.

Arsenal have already played 22 games across all competitions as they compete in the Premier League, the Champions League and the Carabao Cup. They start their FA Cup campaign in January against Portsmouth.

Last year the top European leagues, including the Premier League, and global players' union Fifpro filed a legal complaint against world governing body Fifa over what they called its "abuse of dominance" in the game.

The European Leagues, which represents 39 leagues and 1,130 clubs in 33 countries, said at the time that it was filing the complaint to the European Commission to protect the welfare of players.

Last month Fifa announced a series of measures it said would address player welfare, including having at least 72 hours of rest between matches, and a rest period of at least 21 days at the end of each season.

However Fifpro - which was not involved in talks prior to the announcement - accused Fifa of undermining plans to tackle player welfare issues by consulting with "Fifa-friendly organisations for consultation processes rather than engaging with the recognised football representative bodies".

Is it over training or the expectations leading to psychosomatic symptoms...

@GOSH11 - Give them some hope, as a medical profession is there anything they can do to mitigate this? :D

Funnily enough- i know (professionally and not perdonally) the lead Dr at Arsenal, came from Palace and wad even at Liverpool before- top guy is Zaf!

Their physio team is top notch also- Arsenal are near the top when it comes to the medical side of things.

Top medical team, just that the players are made out of glass :)

Madueke Proving once again of his talent. He could be the difference maker in the busy Period with his freshness and direct play.

Gyokeres must be a concern for Arsenal, he just isn't involved in the game enough, he has struggled with this league massively

Sign of a Good side, win playing Poorly.

But Boy, Arsenal were absolutely awful.

Gyokeres is no better than a championship striker, which will be a concern for the Gooners.

That was a dreadful performance against the worst side in the Premier League. Let’s not forget this Wolves team have managed just two draws all season, yet they were on the verge of clinching another against the league leaders of all sides!

From here, I honestly don’t see us winning the title.

Once again, it feels like Arteta struggles to get the same level of performance when he’s forced to rotate the squad. We’ve relied heavily on set pieces, but since Gabriel’s injury those goals have largely dried up.

Against teams in the current top half, Arsenal have won just two of the seven games they’ve played. The remaining fixtures against top half opposition are Everton away next weekend and Brighton.

Based on current form, I can’t see us beating Everton and it feels like only a matter of time before City move to the top of the table.

City have immense firepower in their front four with: Haaland, Foden, Doku and Cherki. Arsenal’s attacking options pale in comparison. While City have had defensive issues, they can outscore anyone because of how devastating they are going forward. For me, they are the clear favourites to win the league.

Gyokeres must be a concern for Arsenal, he just isn't involved in the game enough, he has struggled with this league massively

When you look at his first touch, close control and inability to win aerial duels, it’s clear he struggles when playing with his back to goal.

Having said that, he’s lacked service and looks worse than what he is because he’s a complete misfit in Arteta’s system.

Other than The NLD, Eze has looked ordinary and unfortunately Odegaard is even worse.

It’s time for Arteta to give Nwaneri some more game time and be trusted to deliver as a number 10.

Honest and fair call bro.

I’m not convinced with Arsenal’s away form, and every game from now on will be high pressure to maintain top spot

It feels like Arsenal could desperately do with a 2 week break as it seems as if the main team players are running on dry engine!

Arsenal need to field Raya, Saliba, Declan, Saka and Trossard every bloody game. These are our players stepping up. Merino seems like he’s up for it too.

We could honestly do with our big summer signing CF (Gyokores) stepping up and getting us those goals in crunch moments like Haaland is for City! Eze as well! This is why he came to a big club and time to show he is the final piece of the puzzle!

Martinelli needs to show he isn’t a super sub only, he’s not been impressive whenever hes been given a starting place!

Timber weak crosses, and stupid mistakes here and there! Get it together!

The CB replacing Gabriel is ok, nothing special at the moment but he’s barely hanging on for us for now!

Forgot to mention the Italian full back, he looks like he’s up for the fight too. You can see all the Arsenal players who look switched on and want to win this. You can also sense the doubt in others who have been here before and sense they won’t get across the line.

Arsenal really must not let this go now!

Any time under Artetas reign where the team has a build up of fixtures the lack of squad rotation management gets exposed. Rice should have been rested at weekend, plus the team section and subs weren't great either. The manager has no excuses now as he was given all signings the squad needed. Eze is slowly getting all his attacking habits coached and instructed out of him. Gyokeres needs to be doing a lot more than he is.

We still have Everton, Brighton and Villa to play. We play like we have done in last few games. We will be dropping quite a few points. The midfield again is slow and ponderous and lacked any sort of fluidity with moving the ball. Arsenal cand afford another slow start to an away game when they play Everton next

The Players need to take responsibility.

Haaland Foden Cherki are men possessed it seems.

Sakah Rice and Co need to lead from the front. End of the day it comes down to the Players.

Arsenal’s next 6 run of PL games will tell you exactly where Arsenal are at in terms of winning the league. Last season, they dropped points against 5 out of the 6 clubs if I remember correctly.

We need to aim for 13/16 points in the next 6, anything less than that, then consider Arsenal out of the race because Man City will only grow stronger with Cherki / Foden back in form. At the moment, I don’t feel too confident. Why? We are back to our old habits, playing side passing football and relying heavily on Saka. Our central attacking football is missing. Odegaard and Eze need to step up in terms of output.

Also I am extremely disappointed with Arteta’s game management. It’s been poor for a while. Also, you don’t give a player (Ben White) 3 consecutive 90 mins when he’s come back from a long term injury.

City have been firing all season from attacking point of view, their issue is still their defence which has been woeful all season, if they address that in January then Arsenal are in trouble

Gyokeres has to show more as a focal point. Goes missing for long periods in the Game.

He has to massively improve and show alot more, at same time Arsenal slow build up play and side ways and backwards passing don't help either.

It's clear Arteta isn't and was never going to set up to play to Gyokeres strengths

How’s it going guys been a short while. I wanted to post last week after the defeat so that I can’t be accused of hiding when we lose like a certain fan base but didn’t get round to it.

We are in bad form at the moment and looks like the 2 games a week is taking its toll again. We have a week off now so next weekend will tell us a lot whether its tiredness or just complacency as we have been really flagging late on in games.

As for the title race – this is why I kept going on about racking up the points for the inevitable blip. Seems like we are now in it however still have a very small lead. Man City are winning games but they will have another blip here and there. The title race does not start until Feb/March time in any case so it’s a matter of being in there.

We have a great squad and were primed for this season however we just seem to get injuries in the same positions when we do. Our attack is now almost pretty much at full strength, but our defence is now suffering.

There seems to be a narrative that because we have a good squad injuries shouldn’t matter. People need to add context – When you have a good squad the idea is that your backups can do a job against the Brentfords or Wolves when your 1st choice is not fit. HOWEVER when you are playing Chelsea who were riding high at the time and Aston Villa who are on fire you cant expect the same with your backups. That’s the reality. You need your best players against the better teams.

And because of that we have looked very shaky at the back against the better teams. You can get away against the lesser teams but not Teams like Villa and Chelsea.

Rice is playing like a monster but looks shattered – if you notice he spends more time protecting the back 4. Zubi is also being ran into the ground. Ben White starting the last game was just neglect. This is where Arteta needs to get better. I fear a Timber injury is next.

Also Gyokores has been a let down but the bigger issue remains that’s been there a while that we cant create chances against a low block. That’s what Eze was bought in for and I feel Mikel needs to not drag him off at every chance.

I am still confident that that we will do it this time – I mean we have to. City are not worrying me yet as teams will eventually take their chances against them.

That’s all on the Arsenal front.

Just want to address a few opinions from Early Season from fellow posters.

Gabriel needs to be sold/phased out apparently – Is now being talked about being the player of the season. How’s that opinion going?

Rice is not good enough blah blah – Been phenomenal and been carrying us. REAL CAPTAIN.

Oh ye and what was that about Spurs going to better than Arsenal this season?

They have a better attack apparently?

Anyway enough of me rambling on. Main thing is we are still in a decent position. Get through the xmas period with a fit squad and we can then go on a run to glory. Don’t forget we have already visited some very tough tough places.

I am not going to mention Liverpool as my post will probably be edited.

Peace

Arteta is trying to get Eze to do what odegaard does, where he's more bothered about the press and defending, then attacking. If you look at Eze now he's doing less dribbling and more passing etc.. complete opposite to what he would do at Palace. Their is no freedom for him to express himself.

Entire midfield is designed to keep ball recycle and play side ways and backwards.

Even haaland would struggle in this team with the awful creation and service in the team collectively

Arsenal home performances all season up until the weekend have been good.

The away performances have been average at best.

So at somepoint the their was bound to be a dip in a home performance. But Saturday was a Shambles.

The poor team selection and moving around the entire back 4 when there was no need is on the manager.

Playing Ben White from start 3rd game in a row - plain stupid. Playing vs a low block Timber should have started RB.
Saliba Playing LCB made no sense, as hincapie should have played there with MLS at LB. Atleast then the team would have been able to move the ball out of the back better.

Rice again dropping to deep, your Playing bottom of league, managers more bothered about Rice shielding the defence then attacking.

As much as I don't rate madueke, not even bring him on as a sub, when he did well was stupid as well.

Weekendssgame was like when we played Southampton in 3-3 draw a few seasons ago.

Play players in their natural positions for god sake.

Of Arsenal play like this vs Everton, Brighton and Villa - then we are going to be dropping atleast 4 points. A busy December and January still to go and players like tired and Timber and Rice will be the next ones to get injured.

Also why was norgaard signed if you aren't going to use him in certain games and give Rice or Zubimendi a rest.

Mess this up at end of season and this managers got no excuses left, nor does anyone else still backing him

Okay so you went in to hiding

Honest and fair call bro.

I’m not convinced with Arsenal’s away form, and every game from now on will be high pressure to maintain top spot

Most teams are finding away games tougher this season, this is why the league is more competitive across the entire league, barring one or two teams.

However, Arsenal away performances have been well below standard. We have scored just 10 goals in 8 away games, which is not acceptable and that's where the major issue lies. We are setting up to not lose and nick away games, based on our defence and that's just not working.

Arsenal fear White will be out for over a month

Arsenal fear defender Ben White could face a minimum of a month out with the hamstring injury he suffered in their win over Wolves.

The Gunners are still awaiting final confirmation of the extent of White's muscular issue but initial concerns are that he will miss between four and six weeks.

The 28-year-old Englishman limped off in the 31st minute of Arsenal's 2-1 win over Wolves at Emirates Stadium on Saturday and was replaced in the back four by Myles Lewis-Skelly. Gunners boss Mikel Arteta said post match that the injury was a suspected hamstring problem.

The absence of White, who has played 11 times this season for the Premier League leaders, compounds injury problems in Arsenal's defence before a congested period of four fixtures in 10 days.

Gabriel Magalhaes sustained an abductor injury while playing for Brazil during the last international break which will keep on the sidelines until the end of the year.

Fellow defender Cristhian Mosquera has also ruled out until the middle of January 2026 with an ankle injury.

William Saliba and Jurrien Timber returned to the heart of Arsenal's backline at the weekend following recent injury problems.

Arsenal travel to Everton in the Premier League on Saturday before a Carabao Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace on 23 December.

Areta's side, who are two points clear of second-placed Manchester City, then have home games against Brighton and Aston Villa on 27 and 30 December respectively.

@Amjid Javed plz share your preferred starting xi vs Everton.

Calafiori is back so some normalcy will return to the defence. I am wondering how Eze could start, and if he does is LW or number 10 the role for him.
