Yes it will be ideal for Pakistan if BD win this because then even if SL beat us we will have a chance with net run rate and 3 teams winning 2 so itll be down to net run rate and if SL beat India then run rate wont matter and we will just have to win our games
 
Somehow feel this is the turning point in the history of Lanka and Bangla cricket. These teams are going to switch places. Bangla getting stronger, Lanka getting weaker. I hope Lanka proves us wrong and continue to produce brilliant cricketers..
 
Could be a humdinger of a match. Recent form might say that Bangladesh are better and also has the home advantage but Lanka on their day are good.

Problem? Soumya Mithun never played Malinga who Will be handful. Also chameera is an unknown entity but so will be Mustafiz
 
I hope Sri Lanka win the Asia Cup, I've always loved their team.

Pakstan have just a little bit more of a chance of winning the cup than the UAE.

Most definitely but i dont think its gonna happen in T20s right now. It may have happened in ODIs already, said the same regarding Pakistan-Bangladesh, from now on i dont think Pak will ever be better than Bangladesh in ODIs.
 
Batsmen from both Bangladesh and Srilanka have not come to terms with the kind of pitches that were in offer for this tournament yet but both bowling attack looked pretty adept at using the given conditions. To me, BD's attack looks a tad bit more powerful than SL's at the moment.

Looking at 65:35 in favor of Bangladesh Win.
 
As a Pakistani which team should I support? Don't really know? Which result would be better for us?

Most probably in ODI, BD would play better than Srilanka but in t20 I think Srilanka would be a better team.
 
Who the hell is preparing these pitches? Asia cup was basically going to be a warm up for t20 WC ? In India their will be phattas for sure so why prepare green tops ...anyways t20s should be about runs..techniques should be tested out in Test or ODIs ...In yesterday's match not even one six was hit

Well you support SL on this occassion and hope that Sl don't win by too big a margin. Considering the fact that BD won with a good margin against UAE compared to Lanka. However, nothing much to say at this point. Pakistan will have to beat one of SL or BD if not both, and ensure they win by a good margin should they lose the other match

Which team you prefer that Pak will beat easily from BD and Srilanka? Then support that team in this match.
 
BTW I don't agree that Asia Cup is a practice tournament for the world cup.

I know both tournaments are of same format, close in terms of geography as well as time.

What's the point of preparing green tops for t20s ?
Just because Bangla have couple of trundlers doesn't mean they put up under prepared pitches

The idea of preparing greenish pitch doesnt amuse me. But u know t20 shouldnt be always for the batters! 140-150 wouldnt be that bad in this pitch but it should be marked failure of batters that they dont reach this total. India did score above 150!

There is no other relevance for Asia cup and that's why they converted it into T20 format

ICC enforced that but otherwise Asia cup was a prestigious tournament. btw Is ACC abolished now?

ICC has no authority over Asia cup format .It was decided by ACC

Since Srini was ousted the decision to abolish ACC was put on hold (I think)
 
So we won toss and are batting first. Not something we do a lot.
 
batting first isn't a bad decision, given how we are poor at chasing
 
How did they suddenly change the pitch conditions?

Have Bangladesh afraid of their inability to bat on these conditions so shaved of the grass ?

BD making a score of 150+ totally depends on how Sowmya/Sabbir plays today. These two are the main batsmen for them to make run scoring easy on this somewhat better looking pitch (compared to earlier games).

May be I have over estimated BD's batting when I gave them 65:35 odds to win this game before the start.

This looks like going in a familiar way for them unless Sabbir and rest of the bastmen rescues

Wants Bangladesh to Win the Asia Cup. Pakistan well this has to be the worst T20 team i have ever seen in the history. We will be lucky if we can win atleast 1 game. How can they drop players like Shaoib maqsood, shahazad, rizwan, fawad alam. I mean instead of giving them chances this stupid idiot haroon drops them. Maqsood looked good in his last knock, how is khuraam got into the squad is something need to be investigated.
 
Sabbir was my pick as the key player (from BD, mentioned it in Asia cup team preview thread) to watch out for prior to the start of the tournament, playing a brilliant counter attacking inning here.

Kula's reputation is getting violated big time here by Superb Sabbir
 
no blind hitting it was all good cricketing shots with good presence of mind. Pakistani batsmen needs to learn from the way he is batting.

Shehzad has had a horrible average in last 8 months

TBH, pitch is lot easier here and bowling of Kula and Mathews is no earth shattering.

On this pitch, I would expect Pak batters to amass big score against the same SL attack.
 
good cricket. They need to realize wickets are key here. BD need a 50 odd partnership.
 
I am more worried about Bangladesh game. Pakistan better win that game or else Shahid Afridi must resign before we face more embarrassment in WC.

don't worry if BD beats SL today then even if we lose to BD we will still qualify if we beat SL.
