Srilankan spinners ready to devour Pakistani batters on today's pitch. And Pakistan has not even a single specialist spinner in the squad.
 
Some covers being peeled off as it is not raining. If it does not rain anymore, toss at 2:50 PM with the first ball at 3:15 PM... 🤞
 
I expect Pakistan to win this one. Even with the changes, the team looks good. Sure you can argue Haris is not an opener. But since management has chosen to play now. He can't do much worse than how Fakhar is doing at the moment.
 
Even if Pakistan has to bowl first no problem. Try to bowl out SL under 200 and chase it easy even if under the lights. Pakistan has to perform today.

SL won't score 300+ so nothing that Pak cant chase.
 
First is the weather. The tanking by India has definitely rocked Pak's boat. If it continues raining then we will be eliminated without even playing today. That may not be a bad outcome seeing all the infighting taking place.

Not expecting a high-scoring match today. Something around 250 will give a scare to the chasing side considering the conditions.
 
They waste time for toss and just before the toss drizzle happens again and once again covers on so another hour wasted. SL must be happy.

Shadab tried to justify it by stating the situation when Indian were batting against him and when Pakistanis were batting against was different. Also, Fakhar was criticised for repeated failures.

Not sure if that's a fight exactly but Shadab needed to be called out for that...he has turned one ball in maybe 6 months of cricket. If the captain doesn't call him out, who will?

Fakhar deserved the same treatment but this is where the coaching needs to be regular...the current staff come in for tournaments and then leave. There is little back up for Babar.

In tests, he probably has one of the best techniques to survive tough conditions . Much superior to the likes of Virat.

The problem is that he is one of the softest, meekest nice guys even by Pakistani batters' standards.

The likes of Williamson and Virat have issues with tough conditions , but once they get through that, they would absolutely bury bowling attacks ruthlessly.

Babar bats on the easiest Test match pitches and still can't do that.

The first 10 overs or so are very important if Pak bat first. India got to 80 runs in no time and that helped them win the match in the end. It get’s difficult to bat as the match progresses so full advantage of first PP needs to be taken.

Definitely something doesn't look right here. In other countries play even happens with drizzle on and only stopped once drizzle is heavier. Here, they cover the whole ground for a mizzle, mild drizzle..
 
Weather forecast looks really bad for the rest of the day.

Asia Cup has been a disaster for us. One game played over two days and this one now washed out. Should just be done with it and focus on the World Cup to be honest.

Very dark now, and the floodlights are switched on. The entire ground now being covered. It is properly pelting down in Colombo right now. Huge puddles on the covers.

The rain gods don't approve of the disgusting way in which India v PAK was given a reserve day. Punishing PAK for PCB's role in this fiasco. Will punish India in the final.
 
It is properly pelting down in Colombo right now, with a strong wind blowing. Huge puddles on the covers. No sign of the skies clearing either

It is so hilarious when fans keep looking at the sky praying for the rain to stop. It always reminds me of the song "paani re paani tera rang kaisa":ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:. Maybe we can get a 20-20 match later in the day:love:.

Which is why this is a Mickey Mouse Tournament.
Reserve day for one match but not the others.
 
Pakistan is himself to blame. Should have counted the factor of run rate while losing terribly by india. The star studded think tank management is super stupid i guess
 
Well ya know let this be a lesson for Pak! Just one massive thrashing is enough to eliminate a team from a tournament. Pak would not have been in this position had our team considered the net run rate. Just because the runs are unachievable does not mean just throw your wickets away. You still try to get as close to the target as possible. Serves them right.

Pakistan would have already qualified had the game against India been rained off as per the rules set prior to the tournament.

But that would have meant that Pakistan would not have had a brutal reality-check and all the arrogance and big talk wouldn’t have blown in their faces.

This treatment of the fake best bowling attack was necessary.

So Bangladesh should be denied a game so that Pakistan should have an extra chance of making the final?

Who told Pakistan to get nuked by India after doing best bowling this and that for one week?

We haven't lost any match in three months. Unfortunately, that was the game (vs India), we need to get rid of that from our blood. That's part of the game. We have some quality players and we talked about it. You have to step in and this is the day we are looking forward to. We played LPL here in Test matches as well. We knew that the conditions will be like this. It's not a batting paradise. It's a tough challenge. As a batsman, you have to adapt. you have to craft your innings and look for the bad balls. Running between the wickets is the key as well. (On today's game) We are looking forward to this game only. We knew we are a good team, we have to execute and we have worked hard.

I personally don't believe in the hype.
We have a decent pace bowling attack and are capable of beating any side in the world on their day.
This has been the case since time immemorial.

No amount of thrashing, or infighting or whatever is going to change their mentality.
They will go on decent runs followed by a mauling.

It's ground hogs day when it comes to Pakistan Cricket.

Having said that, I don't agree with this rule change to allow a reserve day for one match.
If I was a Sri Lankan fan and this happened to Sri Lanka, I would be extremely angry.
 
It's not even the massive loss against India thats an issue.

We lost to India because of the travels, jetlag, injuries etc, otherwise the 228 run defeat wouldn't be possible, but India is a better team if you look at it from an unbiased perspective.

Our whole team relies on imam and Babar, 2 accumulators who are contributors but not match winners hence them disappearing in important games.

Shadab, faheem/nawaz, Chacha, Agha make up for an embarrasing middle order. Fakhar and rizwan are medicore bats and accumulators as well, but unlike babar and imam they aren't world class accumulators just medicore.

We rely on our bowling trio and our bowling trio wither performs with shadab undoing their hard work, or our bowling trio fails and we get tonked for 350 scores. Same with out batting, everyone is a tail ender expect babar and imam, 2 good batsmen that require hand holding and cannot help you single handedly chase 350 totals.

You all are delusional if you think rizwan is a better no 4 them sheryas, or chacha is a better no 6 then pandya or if agha is a better no 5 then kishan/Rahul.

Same with bowling, India isn't dependent on bumrah or siraj or thakur, if they fail, Kuldeep and pandya and jadeja can back them up just fine.
 
Lol, so India not only snatched the Asia Cup from Pakistan but also brutally kicked Pakistan out of the Asia Cup in one stroke and brutally dented the confidence of the side and the nation.

Personally I will be happy if this means turning the heat up on Babars captaincy and if he gets removed as captain from all formats once the WC is over.
 
We were putting a farcical looking crown on Babar's head saying he was so brilliant, awesome and that! Kohli said "sorry, THE crown belongs to me. You Babar hold on to my coat.... I'll show you how it's done".. Now we have not become a bad side overnight rather are an okay one. Our batting is just awful to watch. It clearly lacks a plan, controlled aggression and dynamism compared to the top sides.

Each match situation is different, Same India also got bowled out for 266 against same Pakistan. Pakistan did not allow Nepal to score 200, India did. SriLanka prepared pitch to their bowling strength and India won due to poor batting by SriLanka chasing a gettable score.
