A Sikh attempted to assassinate the Queen over christmas for the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

He has been arrested and has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

He called himself Darth Jones and a Sith (references to Star Wars)

----------------
Metropolitan Police are investigating a video reportedly linked to a teenager who was arrested at Windsor Castle while in possession of a crossbow on Christmas Day.

The clip, obtained by The Sun newspaper, appears to show a masked figure holding a crossbow, saying they will "attempt to assassinate Elizabeth, Queen of the Royal Family" in a "revenge" mission.

They also refer to the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Massacre, or Massacre of Amritsar, when British troops opened fire on a large crowd of unarmed Indians in an open space known as the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar in the Punjab region of India.

Police confirmed they were "assessing" the contents of the video following the arrest of a man but did not comment on who appeared in the clip or identify the teenager who has been detained.

Buckingham Palace declined to comment.

What happened at Windsor Castle?

Police were called to a security breach at Windsor Castle in Berkshire at around 8.30am on Christmas Day and a 19-year-old man, from Southampton, was arrested on suspicion of breach or trespass of a protected site and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has since been detained under the Mental Health Act and remains in the care of medical professionals.

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said: "Security processes were triggered within moments of the man entering the grounds and he did not enter any buildings.

"Following a search of the man, a crossbow was recovered."

They added: "Inquiries into the full circumstances of this incident are being progressed by Metropolitan Police specialist operations."

It came as the Queen spent Christmas at Windsor with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Edward, and Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, after cancelling the traditional plans at Sandringham due to COVID-19.

Recent security breaches

In May, a 29-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man from London were arrested after a report of two trespassers in the grounds of the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park on 25 April.

There was no risk to any individual on the site, police said at the time.

On 19 April, a woman reportedly talked her way into Prince Andrew's mansion.

Police were called after a 43-year-old woman spent 20 minutes in the Royal Lodge grounds after telling guards she was having lunch with the Queen's son, The Sun reported.

Where's Luke Skywalker when you need him?

Imagine if this nutter was a Muslim and the field day the islamaphobes would have had that the queen was gonna get attacked.

Wow — this guy is clearly disturbed and needs some robust support.

How do you know this? Surely he is a terrorist or a criminal with intent to murder.

He had a reason.

The massacre he was seeking revenge was very bloody. A lot of Sikhs are angry at the British for this even afer so many years.

Trying to kill the Queen is a serious crime. Of course he had no chance and thankfully nobody was hurt.

Wrong religion most likley.

Its cringe, if this was a Muslim it would be headlines news around the world. ISIS attempt to assasinate the Queen etc.

Well for what it’s worth he didn’t actually blow anything up. He just got caught in the act.

Having said that I don’t get your point. You seem to be more focused on point scoring on online forums than discussing the actual situation.

Also just FYI this isn’t a religiously motivated attack. That doesn’t make it better but your argument is foolish.

Yup, worse if it was a Muslim avenging the Iraq war.

Maybe he watched the movie Ghandi.

Of course his actions are wrong but I can understand why many Sikhs would be upset and angry. Foriegn policy and history of nations will always come to haunt them for years to come.

Assasinating the Queen would have been seen as more serious than a bombing killing innocents. Not sure if you live in the UK but it would be huge not just here but around the world.

It was a Sikh angry at Sikhs being massacared. Of course it was religious motivation lol.

You should condemn this instead are coming across as an apoligist for terrorism, which Im sure you're not....

Probably the dumbest comment you have made without realizing the consequence it would have had on brown population, particularly Sikh community, had queen been assassinated.

But you are the one who is only here to point scoring while accusing others, almost every comment of your reek of some how making "my community terrorist act less important and severe than other community, particularly Muslims.

Partly Agree on first point. However you can’t compare tragedies/attacks and say which one was relatively better but yes it could have had some deadly consequences.

Jalianwala Bagh massacre is not seen as a religious massacre. There were Hindus killed too. It was undivided Punjab so sure there were probably Punjabi or present day Pakistani Muslims in there too. Anyway the point being it is seen as a more racial or colonial oppression than a religious genocide. This has nothing to do with Sikhs or Sikhism. I don’t know the motivation of this individual but that’s the common consensus at least if Jalianwala tragedy was his main motive.

Third point I don’t know how you formed the opinion that I am defending this guy. If convicted Give him the same treatment every other terrorist gets or even a little more. I don’t care. I would endorse it.

Killing the Queen cannot be compared to any attack on civilians in terms of coverage.

The terrorist is a Sikh who wanted revenge for the massacre of mainly Sikhs. It clearly a religious issue, as like previoiusly when a Sikh wanted to blow up an airliner.

Are you a Sikh?

It's worrying that such people are walking the streets amongst us.

Pakistani Muslims? Pakistan didn't exist then. If you did actually mean Pakistan Muslims, none of them would be alive now.

You stated that Hindus were killed too. However, Amritsar pre-partition was near 50% Muslim. You need to get up on your history dude.

Before 9/11 the single most devastating terrorist attack over Western region was indeed carried out by Sikhs in response to operation Blue Star - Air India Flight 182.

Then there was another attack carried out by Sikhs in London slashing the throat of the general of operation Blue Star, Lieutenant General Kuldeep Singh Brar. The Sikh gang were caught and jailed. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-25316370

Overseas Indians were responsible in both acts of terrorism.

The narrative regarding 1919, on its anniversary two years ago, was one of extreme victim mentality and made out to be solely sikhs that were victims when not the case.

This might be the start of a rise in victim mentality terrorism that has blighted Muslims. Apologies, mental illness. Of course.

Did you miss reading the “present day Pakistani Muslims”?

The context of my post went totally over your head. I meant undivided Punjab had Hindus,Muslims and Sikhs all in more or less significant numbers. So I don’t know how this is documented in Pakistani text books but from what I have read this was an act of colonial oppression not a religious one and I always thought Punjabis of all religions probably died in this heinous act.

Seriously was my previous post that far off from this that it didn’t make sense?

Present day Pakistani Muslims doesn't make sense, though I know what you're trying to say.

Perhaps their forefathers would have been present but they would just be known as Indians or Indian Muslims if you wish to add the religious angle.

Thought it was always white people who are declared mental health cases when they attempt terror attacks.

This poor soul is in the right place now and HM is safe so let us be happy.

No he isn't, but many Hindus consider Sikhism to be a branch of Hinduism anyway, so this may be why they feel qualified to speak on their behalf.

When a non Muslim does it he is paranoid, a lone gunman or mentally instable. When a Muslim does it he is doing what Islam is telling him too. I don't buy this rubbish that Sikh's represent Punjabis of both sides of the border for a minute. This guy obviously doesn't know that General Dyer who was responsible for the massacre was killed many moon's back. All the victims and perpetrators have left this world then their is no point in carrying history's burden today.

Mainly white but also others such as Jews and minorities. The western governments cannot be caught out now after years of propaganda brainwashing their sheepis public into believing Muslims are a threat to the Millky way.

India as a state also sees Sikhism as a part of Hinduism. But I think it was more of a defence of Hindutva who are trying hard to make only Muslims as terrorists. Not to off from westerners, see my reply above.

A man allegedly caught with a loaded crossbow in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day said "I am here to kill the Queen", a court has heard.

Jaswant Singh Chail, 20, from Southampton, is said to have been hooded and masked, with the safety catch off his loaded weapon when he was arrested last year.

Chail is said to have told a protection officer "I am here to kill the Queen" before he was handcuffed and arrested, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard.

He has been charged under the Treason Act, and is also accused of making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon.

Chail appeared today at the London court via video link from Broadmoor psychiatric hospital.

He sat at a table with his arms folded and only spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and current address.

The defendant was not asked to enter a plea to any of the charges and he was remanded in custody ahead of an appearance at the Old Bailey on 14 September.

Why do sikhs always play the victim yet are seen as a minority.

This massacre affected everyone. Grinder chadha has a show taking about Hindu v Muslims yet states sikhs suffered an awful lot. For such a warrior people they sure are meek
