I fear the worst for India. With 3 full days remaining and a deficit of almost 300 already, I cannot see them saving this game
Teams have batted for 2-2.5 days in the 3rd or 4th innings in the past to save a test -
most notably Hanif's 337* v West Indies - look at the discrepancy between Pakistan's 1st and 2nd innings scores!! http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/62835.html
- but I just don't see it happening in Sydney. Gambhir and Laxman are woefully out of touch. Maybe it is time for Laxman to hang up his boots and make way for a youngster like Pujara or Rahane
Once again the indian batsmen should take the major blame (Sachin is exempt) for this performance. Not sure why they struggled so badly in the 1st innings as they have a good record at SCG. Even the best bowling attack in the world cannot save you if you keep getting bowled out for under 200 totals in a test innings
Make it Australia 3-0 up with one (Adelaide) to play. Perth is one ground where you expect Australia to beat most sides comfortably because the wicket has both pace and bounce
A whitewash cannot be completely ruled out (Adelaide may still save India)
Lastly I hope Sachin does not score his 100th ton in the second innings at SCG. You don't want to associate such a milestone with a Royal spanking!! If he does, it should atleast be in a game-saving cause
