What's new

Australia [288/5] beat India [254/9] by 34 runs in the first ODI, take 1-0 series lead

Did this woman commentator just call Rohit's mishit a beautifully timed shot? :)))

I haven't heard her much, but she's been quite awful in this game. No insight into the game at all

anyone uses Willow in the USA for their streaming? They are terrible, cant watch 1080p without stuttering.

I have been watching on Willow with no problem, but on my smartphone. So I don't think my display is 1080p.

Out of Ind players, After Tendulkar, I liked Ganguly a lot because he is Bengali some bias. But Dhoni was a player instantly likeable, from a humble background to this megastar he turned out and done wonders for his nation. Look at Dhoni from start and Kohli. Character wise dhoni is a good gentleman while king kohli has some arrogant attitude. Class player, but needs to tone down the overhype especially when appealing for everything and all sorts teen like emotions!

Are Mavi and Nagarkoti also speed demons like Khaleel? :irfan

Mavi and Nagarkoti are the other young Indian pacers I hear about, maybe Rajpoot too. Maybe not as fast as Khaleel, but we need to try out a few youngsters and hope we uncover another gem like Bumrah.

Required rate is below 7.5 here , if these two can bat another 10 overs India would make some kind of recovery

Come again - we've hit a grand total of 0 boundaries.

But 4 sixes!?

Only reason I am still watching this game is I want to see Rohit in beast mode, if it ever happens. As soon as he is out, goodnight all :)

Hope Dhoni turns it around, hate to see a champion player struggling this much.

Think he was 6 off something like 36 balls...

India outside their top order look really weak. We were inferior version of them but we seem to have found some reliable scorers after Taylor who can bat time or hit.

It'll be interesting what the starting XI will look like for the WC.

"King" Kohli has flopped this tour. Had it not been for Pujara stepping up and carrying the team they would have lost the test series too.

While Kohli was not India's best batsmen in the Test series, I would say he "flopped" only by his very high standards. His 170 run partnership with Pujara was critical for India winning the 3rd Test, and that Test proved to be the winning margin for the Series win.

For his standards he has. I don't even remember one good leading innings from him this series. India's big series win came with Kohli doing little.

Seems you haven't heard her commentating then.. She always sounds more Indian than any Indian out there. not to forget, her almost every sentence has to have IPL in it..

Does she already have a commentary contract there, or is she hoping to get one?

The Indian team hasn't hit a 4 in the first 20 overs, which is a record. They have hit a few sixes though.

This is Kohli's first single digit score since 2017 and people have already started undermining a guy who averaged 134 at a SR of 103 last year.

The sub-300 score is keeping us in the game.

But you expect people to talk about a superior league like IPL. You think anyone remembers flop league like BPL :))

First time ever in their history? No 4s in the first 20overs. But 4 sixes.

Dhoni 4 then dot - dot - dot doesn't help.

Did you miss his brilliant innings at Perth?
Yeah, what was the result of that match?

In the match he leads, the team loses? :))

Pujara is the reason for the series win, without him they would have lost the series.

Of course Pujara was behind the win. But I was talking about "I don't even remember one good leading innings from him this series."

India need to play this team for world cup

Dhawan
Rohit
Shaw/Agarwaal
Kohli
Gill
Jadhav/Pandya
Pant
Bhuvi
Kuldeep
Shami
Bumrah

Nah.. her accent is southern (England), bit on the mild side, not close to cockny. No indian indian fem will sound like her. So disagree about her sounding like any indian out there. There’s a difference between accents. English born, growing up from primary school to max, in the south. Accents are different each sides. South is general same mostly cockney influenced, especially south-east England.

Of course, you do but at the same time don't expect commis to act as the poster boys/girls of these t20 leagues...

To be fair, all fox commentators were discussing IPL. Gilchrist mentioned Dharamsala is the best ground he played when he was playing for KXIP, even Warne and Alan Border was all about it. Its not only Isa Guha.

Not talking about this match, about Isha in particular... She would bring up IPL even in tests ..

Indeed, agree most part. But Aus batting in the first innings were bad in almost all of the matches. Can’t really faulth them playing with their B side.

Pujara is the reason for the series win, without him they would have lost the series.

While it is true that Pujara was the reason we won the series, with an average of 40+, Kohli can only be considered a failure when judged by his high standards.

Most important batsmen for us in the series were Pujara, followed by Agarwal and then Kohli. While Pant scored more than Kohli, I would say Kohli's innings had more impact.

Ms Dhoni looks up for it today. Really focused, determined. Slow stsrt but slowly recovering it. Couple of more big shots will reduce the deficit between balls faced and runs!

177 off 132. If these two bat for another 12 overs. They have a chance to win

Nice comeback from MSD and Rohit... I mean India still have a sclim chance tp pull off a win.

Sehwag 5 runs short of 8k ODI runs. Lol why did they not give him few more last ODI to get 8k runs

Aah looks like Dhongi has cemented his place for the ODI WC. A selfish innings from the most selfish player to play for India.

Did you not read the papers? Everyone was hyping Kohli up as the best batsmen in the world, this was the series for him to nail it. To prove he's the best and he's not there because Smith is suspended, only for the dude to be outshined by Pujara and the big series win being won by Pujara's 100s and breaking down of the Aussie pacers in the process.

Said it a million times before and will say it again - Rohit is so great to watch.

What a batsmen.

You must be the only one to read newspapers anymore. ::J

The rest of us watch dozens of test matches, series and make up our minds with our own conclusive opinions.

Kohli is the best batsman in the world. His performance in this series has no bearing on that.

Dhoni is such a torture to watch. I would gladly take Sarfaraz over this hack.
That "hack" won you a WC.

Have some respect.

This was the series to prove it, as is he's only holding the spot for Smith.

Of course, "this was the series to prove it" after it's all over. Did you post such before the first ball of the first test? I thought not.

He averaged 40 anyway. India won 2-1. The series is over. We aren't playing a test against a proper side until deep into 2019. Kohli and Pujara will both play. Stop whining. Move on. Thanks.

:))) Dhoni almost plays a maiden when the RR is above 8 . Oh God when would this suffering end.
