Australia "A" vs Pakistan "A" | 3rd ODI | Brisbane | 16/07/2009

Wonderful effort so far by this team... at least they put some sort of fight up unlike our "National" team that has collapsed three times in a row.

Ghani is really looking special now. He definitely deserves a look in. He's playing against some high quality bowlers and has toyed around with them.

70 off 42 equates to 10 an over. Bollinger brought back on, need to get some runs off this over!

Over 44.3: Tait to Umar Akmal, no run, OUT, WOW!! Akmal has wound up and belted the ball straight back at the bowler and he's been caught!! That was flying, I don't know how Tait got it but he did! PAK 6/259

Unlucky for Akmal

Akmal out ... c&b by Tait. By the sounds of it he really clubbed it but Tait held on.

great fight put up by the boys, they should feel proud of the way they ran Australia A close over the series in their backyard

Wahab Riaz bowled well going at 5's on a pitch yielding par 6 an over

our engine room of Ghani, Akmal and Sarfraz had too much to do after Fahad Iqbals 25 off 45 balls

301 all out

Good fight by the youngsters, lost by 15 runs in the end but a very good chase.

Shaharyar Ghani, Akmal and Wahab did extremely well thorughout the tour.

Hafeez should be dropped FOREVER!!!!

Abdur Rehman is just OK bowler, time for Yasir Shah to get some games.

Umar Amin was lucky to catch attention with some impressive batting early on but he has been disappointing in the last few tournaments he has played so he will need to go back and try to impress the selectors again.

Fahad is better than Faisal so if it is mandatory to have one IQBAL in senior team, i will go for Fahad otherwise he is not a special talent or anything.

Sarfraz Ahmed has been impressive once again, you always need a good backup wicket keeper so we don't need to worry about that at all.

Talha wasn't consistent so he won't get a quick callup to the senior squad.

We went down but not without a fight.. Atleast our jnrs didnt collapse..we had some good partenerships, but we had lost the game already when Umar Akmal fell .. All in all a staisfactory performance by Pak A in the tour...when do we play Sri Lanka A ?

In these tours the results are not important as identifying who can make the step up to senior level.

Three players have definate caught the eye Shaharyar Ghani, Akmal and Wahab. Fahad and sarfraz have also been impressive in patches.

Akmal could get a suprise call up for the one day squad.

Khalid Latif scored a 91-ball century...good...
Ghani and Akmal again getting some runs..

Ghani, Akmal, Safraz and Wahab Riaz should be proud of their performances on tour and at some point will get a call up to the senior side.

wahab, umar, azhar should get a call up now man they performed trhough the whole tour

wow looks like a great fight by our youngsters. great job but sad to see they could win the match and the series which would haev been great....anyway can anyone plz upload the highlights of this match would love to see our young guys. how they bat and bowl and havent seen s.ghani so it would be good if a highlight of this match is uploaded...

Was a good series in both forms of the game.

For Aus A, nothing really useful came out of that.

Tim Paine is a handy batter, we knew that already.

Most of the batsmen made some runs but nobody dominated.

Our spinners were rubbish no surprise there.

Henriques made runs but was ineffective with the ball.

Bollinger and McKay the best of our bowlers, both put in a couple of excellent performances.

Tait was Tait. Runs, wickets, wides, no balls, in and out of the side. :akhtar

Ironically probably more positives for Pakistan A despite losing both series.

Totally agree with you bro. But its tooo sooon to compare tait with SHOAIB AKHtAR. tait needs another fit 10 years to reach AKHTAR level apart from that totally agree with you. too bad for us we lost the series but glad to see the cricket was played in good spirit and it was a good series and yea PAK A will leave with many positive things from AUSSIE A tour.

No I am comparing them because they are both fast, both regularly injured and both have dubious motivation to perform for their country. :akhtar

Akhtar was a world class Test quick, Tait is so far not even Test standard. And declining too I might add.

I attended this game again, missed the australian innings but was highly entertained by pakistans run chase.

Khalid Latif played a good knock for his hundred but threw his wicket away just as pakistan couldve coasted home. Umar akmal is highly entertaining, his a great six off tait high and loooonnngggg over long on.

The guy who i was most impressed with was Sheriyar Ghani. He looked a complete batsmen, good solid base of a technique. He paced his innings perfectly, hitting the gaps on almost every occasion, and every time he willed, cleared the boundaries with ease. This too against guys who have played quite often for Australia, Bollinger, Tait, krezja, and geeves. Not a big guy was his timing was mazing, pulling tait with no problems at all.

I maged to have a good chat with Wahab Riaz and Mohd. Talha. They walked around the field and as they came past i went to greet them and proceeded to chat. Really friendly guys both, felt as though after 5 mins we were good friends.
We spoke about a wide range of things from the game, to the pakistan senior side, their experience in australia, to their next series.
They joked that they had spent all their money shopping whilst here, buying sunglasses shoes, clothes, all things they could lay their hands upon. We even joked when they mentioned they wanted to go and watch 'Kambakht Ishq' tonight. Riaz suggested it, to which Talha replied "i think ive spent all my money".

They both come from faisalabad and play with Nasir Jamshed, both rate him extremely highly.

Riaz hails from the Modeltown assortment of cricket clubs..playing for modeltown 'GREEN'
When i mentioned that i was a left arm orthodox, they striahgt away advised me to speak to Abdul Rehman and get some help, saying that he would "Beshak" give me some good tips.

At this point they were summoned back to their team by captain hafeez, when they invited me to go see them in the evening at their hotel.

...Do they have any problem with Azeem Ghumman??? He wasn't selected to play this match, too!

Wahab Riaz is from Lahore and Mohammad Talha is from Faisalabad. Out of the two only Wahab Riaz plays with Nasir Jamshed.

Well i am only commenting on what i have been told from the Mouth of Wahab Riaz. He asked me where i was from in Lahore, and then when i asked him about where he played club cricket in lahore, he told me modeltown green but said his originally from Faisalabad, he said they are both originally from Faisalabad.

So unless they were lying...you tell me
