Misbah already hinted that he may retire after their next assignment. YK's form is not getting any better and infact he is mentoring a PSL side which means he isnt practicing. I have this feeling that neither of them will wish to play beyond 2017.

Totally. Also, we are playing Ashwin even after he acknowledged playing with an injury. Makes no sense to me. There must be another spinner in the country who is better than a half fit Ashwin.
 
You can tell right away that Kohli is making a big effort to get all the way forward, or all the way back. Conscious effort to make sure he doesn't get stuck in between like Vijay.

Yeah Our bowling wasn't great but imagine Vijay and Rahul playing like this against our spinners.

Renshaw, Warner and Smith were either fully front or back.

When Rahul was fully in front, Lyon looked very playable.

Let's see how our bats handle them when they get forward and backward. Maybe that will tell us what's what. I am curious to know too.

I wouldn't say they have been outbowled, simply put Australia has batted much better than India.
Australian batsmen are not playing for the turn, they are simply protecting their stumps, thereby giving India only one edge of the bat to attack on while Indian batsmen are confused and are playing some deliveries for turn and some for the straighter ones.

If you are adjudged LBW to a flat delivery that struck while you are on the backfoot you shouldn't review it. That is common-sense TBH
 
Epic 300 run defeat coming up for us. Should be a wake up call for our team. Hopefully our test cricketers take a leaf out of OZ's book and choose not to play all the T20's/ODI's/IPL etc. etc.
 
I wish we had gotten these types of wickets, they're pretty bad when the ball is turning sharply.
 
India's batting (unsettled) is exposed in this match! Which idiot gave the idea to prepare spin tracks? The dry climate was enough to suffocate the Aussie Batsmen. Flatness would assure Indian batting unit (deep one) to put up fair totals. This was happening even in previous English test series (wickets falling quickly) but the flatness in the pitch assured the restoration.

We did bowl worse.Jaddu was atleast beating the bat but bowling outside off.Ashwin was inconsistent with his pace.

I don't remember the last time a non-Pak match thread was this poppin'.
 
Also on turners, it doesn't make sense playing 5 bowlers. We need to reserve that strategy only for flat decks.
 
We need to stop dishing out rank turners with variable bounce .

Its clear we can't play on rank turners.

What this is making is opposition spinners look more lethal and ham they really are.

Indian spinners rely on loop and flight. Not big turn.

But test is a long game. Let's see if he keeps up the intensity.

Pujara isn't looking all that solid.

The point is they play far too much cricket across formats when they need to be at their best and well rested. This team looks a bit jaded to be honest.

They will definitely be jaded after bhaji and ganguly predicted 4-0 and put unnecessary pressure on everyone..😐

Now with the IPL coming soon after..I don't know how many of these guys will survive without getting injured.

Not sure if that was the case.

Seeing Lyon flight it too.

Now this delivery by Lyon not turning much which Pujara played for a single.

I would want India to bat for a while to see what's what.

Under the pump...10 minutes...hard to say. Moeen and Rashid looked unplayable on the Rajkot flatty when that happened.
 
This partnership is the key. With out of form Rahane to come, can't expect him to survive for enough time for India to win the game.

Also Ashwin,Jadeja, and Saha are unlikely to produce match winning efforts on a pitch like this.

Bhai we will lose by 300 runs. Every ball is an event and on this pitch our spinners are atrocious
 
On such pitches i think we need a left handed batsman to force O'Keefe to bowl a different line and smash him out of the attack.

He NEVER turned anything Kohli. Easy dead bat defense was all needed.

Jaddu bowled this same delivery 100 times and was defended with ease. :facepalm:

If you get out to these deliveries which Aussie batsmen defended like 100 times literally (that too when Jaddu was SPINNING some viciously unlike O Keefe who is all straight)....how do you expect our bowlers to bring us back into the back?

They may be poor but this batting can't be salvaged even by Murali and Warne.

Kohli looked so good until that ball.

Honestly delighted for Australia, these guys were wrote before a ball was even bowled and they have been fantastic in all 3 departments.

You really think O Keefe outbowled him?

Yeah he bowled slightly better lines but apart from that, look at the 2 dismissals.

Jaddu's straight balls were defended EVEN when he was spinning other deliveries. We are getting out to O Keefe even when he is not spinning anything.
