Australia thrash India by 333 runs to win 1st Test within 3 days

I think, match will be finished today. Still 2 hours & 8 overs left.

We wouldn't have let them cross 180 if we hadn't dropped Smith 4 times.

First innings we got Aus around 205-9 before Starc launched into Ishant and Jadeja. Those kind of anomalies happen and you have to account for 50 odd runs in the first innings.

But how are we going to tackle 180+180 =360 runs with 100 all out and 99/6?

Our top 5 isn't as good as people think it is.

Still dodgy against spin on turners and unproven outside Asia.

All potential...no performance.

For Rahane and Pujara, they don't have potential to be all conditions batsman too.

Ashwin was never genuine number 6 bat anyway. At best 7 or 8.

He is the best keeper but worst batsman in keepers.

I always knew Saha cannot bat. Some fan boys of his think that he can catch better than Parthiv.

Much more bro.

If we had matched the Aus score or even given them say 25-50 run lead, Warner and co would have been under so much pressure that they wouldn't have played half the shots they did early on in 2nd innings.

Small hinges swing big doors.

But then the problem is more fundamental than just 2 failures with the bat.

Vijay, Kohli, Ashwin, Rahane and Saha should be shot for their performance here.

He can catch better than Parthiv.

Thats not even debatable.

Also Parthiv is good for only breezy 30s and 50s in the international level.

“This is a namesake Aussie side. Apart from Steve Smith and David Warner, I don’t even know any other cricketer. They have four spinners in the side considering they came to play in India and if they play bad, they will lose 4-0,” he said.

Question should be asked how bad is Parthiv ??

Saha was like one of those Pakistani surprise selections which reminds you of "Parcha" culture in country.

But but we play 5 batsmen and a tailender keeper isn't it.

This experiment with ashwin at 6 and saha at 7 is going to unravel and it did spectacularly.

U cannot win matches with 4 proper batsman in which one is all or nothing player, another lazu casual opener.

U r basically playing with 2 batsman
 
Australia's Man of the Match is basically Monty Panesar. O'Keefe has bowled exactly how he told him to.

It makes me sad about England's recent tour though. For all Monty's problems, we'd have won the First Test in India and who knows what would have happened after that.

Okeefe is ordinary. Pitch is tailor made for him and making him look like a legend.

Okeefe cannot spin the ball much. He is good st bowling straight darters. On this uneven bounce pitch, he is lethal. Of course it does not help that Indians cannot play spin as proven by Monty before.

Parthiv is kami 2 but good batsman than saha by miles. Parthiv can open as well

Saha is a no8 batsman. If he is. Owing in at 6, India are in trouble. He cannot play spinning ball or anything over 135 clicks. He is good at bashing trundlers from Windies and lanka.

On flat pitches Indians could experiment a lot. They asked Parthiv to open, so that a proper batsman batted at No.6 and the batting line up extended. Actually the injuries to some people helped! I know these are not long term solutions.
 
India still need 56 more runs to avoid inning defeat, and i guess you guys can work out how. Absolute and epic phainty.
 
Atleast monty bamboozled batsman with his fast spin but getting lbw to straight darts of okefee paints pretty dismal picture about indian batsman against spin
 
Clever from O Keefe. It was the other one that doesn't turn. No wonder one of the best players of spin in the world didn't pick it

I'm talking about the whole match. Not an innings. This is the best. If he gets anothe rwikcet it'll be the most by any Aussie in a match against India

Another straight ball missed by playing with bat behind pad. This is so so so atrocious.
 
I love how Lyon has bowled so much better than O'Keefe but only has one wicket compared to the O'Keefe's 6. What a crazy day :))
